...Before i get in to the actual movie, i think it's important to point out that The Great Escape is very much based upon a true story. In World War II, the Germans grew tired of repeated escape attempts by POWs across the nation. As a way of putting "all their dirty eggs in one basket", the worst offenders were sent to a newly constructed camp; the infamous Stalag Luft III. Of course, what the Germans didn't consider was that by grouping the men together, they were subsequently grouping the very finest escape artists in the land. "For you, the war is over." A line famous as traditional German speech having captured a POW. But for these men, the war was far from over. ...This film should be shown as a team building exercise in big companies where such exercises are widespread. This would do the trick better than any talks, seminars or conferences. Secondly, if you've ever given up on something you really wanted, then watch this film, reflect on it carefully, get up and go get what it is you wanted. This film could really make you do that. This film is based on the real-life experiences for a group of young men captured during WW2 and sent to this newly built, supposedly high security POW camp. The plot is based around the lives of two itinerant farmhouse workers - George Milton and Lennie Small who are greatly portrayed to exhibit loneliness through Steinbeck's representation of characters. Steinbeck depicts his characters as exiles by introducing; sexism, racism, age, discrimination, and disability discrimination. As each of the main characters have one reason that outcasts them from anyone else this causing each to have social anxiety as no one really has much in common. George and Lennie end up at the Tyler ranch having escaped weed, their previous job after being chased by a posse of men due to harassment changes on Lennie's head. ...Some people I know think that some men's aftershaves are all pretty similar in smell. This is true, to an extent. 'Escape', however, is unique - I've never smelt an aftershave quite like this one! Calvin Klein has a reputation for producing quality fragrances, both for men and women, and this is really no exception. 'Escape' as been around for quite a while now, but is still up there with the best of them. The frangrance is quite heavy, but not overpowering, making this ideal for evening wear, out to a club perhaps. It's got a citrus fragrance, but with a hint of something else - amber, I think - and the result is a really great fragrance. I have heard comments like 'somemen's aftershave smells like perfume' - well you won't get that with this one. ...Of Mice and Men is a truly fantastic novel written by John Steinbeck. It is based around the 1930’s period in American and Steinbeck uses the novel to express the general atmosphere which was present at the time. The title of the novel is taken from Robert Burns’ famous poem, “To a Mouse, On Turning Her Up In Her Nest With The Plough.” The last line (“The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men, Gang aft agley”) means “often go wrong”. Steinbeck transfers the pity felt by Burns for the mouse, to the poor men whose plans are similarly wrecked by an unkind fate. The novel is about two ranch-workers, George and Lennie, who have a dream throughout the novel that one day they will have their own little plot of land and be their own master. ...just finished a couple of weeks ago and since then I have been using Escape and now feel in a good position to give a worthwhile opinion on it. Calvin Klein launched the Escape range for men in 1993. The fragrance is very crisp, clean and refreshing and this is what makes it ideal for daywear. It has a very fruity element to it and this gives it a lot of life and character. I personally think that it is has an extremely masculine aroma and one that should appeal to the opposite sex. The packaging is another excellent aspect to this fragrance and as you would expect for the price you pay. The box is an appealing mustard coloured one and is rectangular in shape. ...I loved Escape to the Sun.In fact I love most travel programmes.I live in a fantasy world where I pretend Iam there living my dreams. I have watched every episode and felt sad when the last one was shown on Wednesday. Alan (woody) Wood the single parent father takes his kids abroad for a new life. His wife left him and their children and he got the house repossessed so he had to start a new life alone.Him and the kids lived in a static caravan and when he ran out of money , he got the caravan half price until he got a job. Every few weeks though he had to move to another caravan because they let out the vans on the site. Some of the caravans were damp and he was desperate to find his own place.
