Eton FR250 Emergency Radio
Review of Nevada ETON FR250 by
Foxy_Fieldcraft
Advantages: Easy to use, sensitive world-band receiver
Disadvantages: No Clock & Not water-proof, but a sundial & plastic bag fixes that!
...Feather-weight Radio with a big green heart!
This Eton FR250 packs a lot of performance in a small form factor (about six inches square and under 2 inches thick).
Reception is good for its price-range, and large chunky controls are easy to use - even with gloves!
The FR250's greenest feature is its wind-up power generation mode, pitched by Eton as an "Emergency Radio, the wind-up power feature is also a great way to stay warm & focused in cold conditions!
Other Emergency features include a bright LED torch, Flashing Red beacon and a ear-piercing Siren to attract attention in difficult rescue locations. Its Emergency status is bolstered by an external port which can charge a mobile phone from the FR250's own power-generator, and be powered by an external mains transformer, or only three AA batteries if available in the urban...

It's a Mini adventure...
Review of MINI Cooper 3dr by
jack7hardy
Advantages: smooth, quick ride!
Disadvantages: ...
...Mini Cooper
Background of the Mini.
The original Mini was designed by one man, his name was Sir Alec Issigonis, as was primarily released in the United Kingdom on 27th of August 1959. In its first 40 years of production, there was almost 5,300,000 Mini’s made, many cars have tried to replace the Mini, such as the ‘9X’, however none have succeeded.
After the Queen was sighted in a Mini in the early 1960s the cars popularity rocketed, with other famous stars such as The Beatles, Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood all owning the British icon.
The original Mini’s made by were just over 10 feet long and however with released such as the saloon and the van the Mini has become a versatile car, catering for many drivers.
The original Morris Mini-Minor had an 848cc engine, and was produced by the British Motor Company, [BMC...

My MINI Adventure...vroom VROOM VROOM!!!
Review of Rover Mini 1.0 by
Deru
Advantages: Cheap to run,Customisable, Cheap insurance, Cheap road tax, Small, fun Fun FUN to drive! Cute
Disadvantages: RUST, Little Storage space, Heater not very good, No air conditioning, No cigarette Lighter as standard, Not everyone likes the look, Lacks power
...THE MINI
The Mini has been around since 1957/1958 but they stopped production. However, it was resurrected in 1997 by BMW but the Classic Mini, may it be Austin, City, Cooper, etc. are still popular. Even more so than the new one, which are much bigger and shouldn't really be called a Mini. The Mini even has lots of clubs, websites, magazines devoted to them. These usually get you mini merchandise, magazines through the post and there would be a meet up. Much like the huge event that is 'London-to-Brighton Mini Run'. I've been to that a few times where thousands of Mini's drive from Crystal Palace to Brighton for various events to watch and with lots of things to buy.
FEATURES
My Mini has an immobiliser to help prevent the car from being stolen. I immobilise the car by flicking a switch near the ignition and the car...

Listen to my 18 months experience with Mini IQ
Review of Mini-IQ - Fun, Educational Children by
jacksonsuffolk
Advantages: none I can think of
Disadvantages: The whole scheme
...I am very pleased that Mini IQ has been reviewed on Ciao because there is a lot to be said about it and this is a good way to say it.
As has been commented on in other reviews, Mini IQ is a party style sales company retailing in books for children. The company itself is a very small operation which buys, stocks, and supplies books. The books are supplied to independent associates who are self employed and sell them on directly to customers.
To encourace associates, Mini IQ offers a 25% discount on all products and also pays sales bonuses to individual associates in relation to personal and team sales volumes. Associates are therefore rewarded for having a large number of personal sales, and a large number of team sales, which correspondingly reflects a large team.
The company has been operating for around 2 years.

My mini life.......
Review of Rover Mini 1.3 by
thundersmurf
Advantages: You can park anywhere, great fun, cheap to run,
Disadvantages: not the safest car on the planet.
...Yeah, I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to minis.
I bought my first mini in about 1995. It was a pageant blue 850 on a V Reg, and I paid £400 for it with 12 months MOT.
I promptly went to Blackpool in it for my first mini show which was an illuminations event being held at Norbreck castle hotel.
The little 850 got stuck in the illuminations traffic and overheated.....on the motorway. Mmmm, I pulled over and let it cool down, but I had no water in the car, so when I set off again I drove down the hard shoulder with my hazards on, at about 15 miles an hour - naughty I know, but I didn't know what else to do.
I had the 850 for about a year and then sold it, and promptly went out and bought a cooper look-alike.
It was a white F Reg (1989) city which had been modified with cooper stripes on the bonnet, and cooper laurels...

Mini - (the old not the new!!!)
Review of Rover Mini 1.0 by
deehambley25
Advantages: cheap to fix/run/insure/make faster nad individual!
Disadvantages: must have patience and the willingness to learn basic mechanics!!!
...What is it about a mini that you love so much that you only ever have fond memories of them? Nearly everyone has owned or driven a mini in their driving lifetime alot of people like me had them as a first car (and a second), I was given my mums when i passed my driving test..I drove it 2 days later to birmingham from my home town of wraysbury (near heathrow), I was really pleased with myself I drove all that way without a single problem, (I was naive at that time it was sunny that day!), 1 week after my succesful 240ish mile round trip I went to my local amateur dramatics meeting (less than 1 mile from my house), thinking great people will see me in my mini - driving - and thinking how cool i looked (did I mention it was primrose yellow?), when, I found out one very good reason to own a mini....yep i was so busy looking to see if anyone...

Mini IQ needs you
Review of Mini-IQ - Fun, Educational Children by
cljacobs
Advantages: profitable for those who got in early enough
Disadvantages: its MLM, what more is there to say?
...more than you need Mini IQ.
If you are ever approached by a Mini IQ associate to hold a book party, read on. Equally, if you are ever approached by a Mini IQ associate to join Mini IQ as an associate, read on....
Why not to host a Mini IQ party?
1. because most of the products available in the Mini IQ catalogue are cheaper elsewhere. Those products that are not available elsewhere (so-called "exclusives") are overpriced by virtue of the fact that there is no competitor selling them. In conclusion, go to Waterstones, Blackwells, Amazon or booksfirst.co.uk
2. because, without knowing it, you will be allowing the Mini IQ company to take advantage of the Mini IQ associate who presents at the party. Yes - that's right - taking advantage. For more information on this, see "Why not to become a Mini IQ Associate" below.
3. because...

Protect pink mini ipod
Review of XtremeMac Shieldz For iPod mini Case MP3 player by
tiger645
Advantages: Great protection
Disadvantages: Only works well with mini PINK ipod
...Paid a lot for your mini ipod? Then why not keep it looking new and clean, after all a mini ipod cover hardly costs anything in comparison. This cover is perfect for protecting your mini ipod without changing any of the excellent features and still allowing all the brilliant accessories to be used.
This mini ipod cover is great for protecting the mini ipod from falls or any other damages that either damage or make the mini ipod look tatty. This cover is made from rubber so is great for grip so the owner is less likely to drop the mini ipod. Even if they did it would be protected. The rubber does not absorb water so the cover is waterproof protecting the mini ipod from spillages or cases of dropping the mini ipod into the bath! The particular cover matches the pink mini ipod (both dull and bright) so that the ipod colour is still...

MINI car, maximum fun
Review of BMW Mini Cooper by
ndf9876
Advantages: Stylish looks, solid build quality, great driveability
Disadvantages: Can be expensive adding optional extras when bought new
...I bought my MINI just over a year ago, and at that time, the car had only been unleashed on the unsuspecting British public for a couple of months. All the automotive magazines (CAR, Auto Express to name two) raved about the car; I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. That's where my 'MINI Adventure' began.....
There is one particular, four-letter word that leaps into my mind when I look at the MINI.
Cool.
From the curves around the rear of the car to the styling of the front grille, you can tell that Rover's old Mini has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. The exterior of the car is a joy to behold, and everything seems well-proportioned. Bodywork is sound, with all the panels fitting snugly - the car just looks solid. No overhanging front skirts or poor fittings here, oh no, you can definitely tell...

mini ipod from a mini girlies perspective!
Review of Apple iPod mini 4 GB by
friends_cortney
Advantages: pretty metallic colour, huge memory. long battery life
Disadvantages: freezes sumtimes :S
...Hey there to the ciao community! this is my first review for a while as I've been really busy with exams and the summer but it's about time i stopped being so lazy and got down to some writing!
If you havent read any of my other reviews i must warn you that my writing style is very informal and i do not claim to know the ins and outs of electrical workings. what i can guarantee is an honest opinion of my experience of the product in question.
<<<<<WHY I CHOSE THE MINI IPOD>>>>
Well, if you have read my previous reviews you will know that i was not best impressed with the last mp3 player which i purchased. And as my 24 hour return coach trip to Lourdes quickly approached i was promised by my doting daddy a music player that actually worked before i set off on the LONG, TEDIOUS journey! so when the night before i left ithere...
