It looks very much like a web cam. It is powered by the PS2 so there are no other wires to plug in. ...Well, what a fantastic piece of equiptment. I bought this with left over birthday money with the first Eye toy game and it has had several uses. I played and played the first game as it has roughly 10 to 15 games on it and they were unberlievable, the graphics were extreamly good, and then out came another game Eye toy groove. boogie on down with this game it was fantastic. And then i was bought buzz, and you can use the eye toy to take a photo of your self and have your own character. It is great. Another good thing about the eyetoy you can use it as a spy camera. So when you want to see whos is stealing your money or making your room a mess or even if you want to keep you child quite for a couple of hours. ...like you. Both Eye Toy: Play 1 & 2 have a playroom, where you can experience the latest Eye Toy experiments, such as camouflage, or the submarine which you control with your voice. However, if you do intend to buy the camera and games, remember that to enable them to work perfectly, you need to have a plain white wall behind you with no pictures. This is because the games work by detecting a clash of light and dark places. Without a clear backdrop it will be extremely difficult to control the menus. You also need to be in a well lit area (this does not apply to Eye Toy: Play 2). The camera by itself is about £25, and with a game together it will cost the same as any other ps2 game. you can buy it at most electronics shops selling PS2 accessories. Advantages: Cheap games and still a great console!
Disadvantages: Noise from machine and grapics not as good as some of the newer consoles around

.... Games may not be as good in terms of graphics against more up to date games consoles but overall they provide a great source of enjoyment. Games are all on a CD type disk. I love buying games for the PS2 now as I can get them so cheap and next to nothing if doing exchanges of my old games. One of my favourite games that I have loved from the original is Tomb Raider. Other features - The PS2 can also play games with video feedback on them such as the 'eye toy' where players can see themselves on the screen and it detects player movements as part of the game. Also playstation games from the PS1 can be played on the PS2 which is a great bonus if you still have any of them games. The console has the ability to play DVD's too which has come in useful for us when our old DVD player was on it's last legs! Downsides - For me the only downside... Read review

...I bought the sony eye toy for the PS2 as soon as i pluged it in i was hooked, it is very easy to setup and it even tells you how when you first put the Eye toy Play game that is supplyed with the product. once you have got the focus right on the camra you are ready to go,the games know where you are and when you are moving around so you inteact with the games, there are 12 games in all on the disk plus loads of extras to play about with in the play room, like wobbally mirrors making you all funnny shapes, also under water with fish swimming around you. the 12 main games are brilliant and here are a few of my favorites, there's one called kung foo where the are fighters jumping at you from the sides of the screen and you have to keep them away from you by phisicly punching them of the screen. there also wishi washi where the screen... Advantages: Totally interactive, gets you up out of your chair, easy to grasp, it's something a bit different.
Disadvantages: Only the one game so far, no real progression within the games on Eye Toy Play.

...so many calories, but it is a much more entertaining. Another plus point for this latest development in the gaming arena is that it is easy to pick up. Everyone will find a game that they are good at. I, for one, am a master ninja fighter, however, my friend wipes the floor with me on the window washing level! It's great as a party piece, your guests may be reluctant to step up at first, but once the ice is broken, they will be clamouring to give it a try. It is also a perfect present for the kiddie in your life, not only will it keep them entertained for hours, but it will tire them out as well! To play the Eye Toy you will need a Playstation2, the Eye Toy pack, which in ludes the Eye Toy camera and the Eye Toy Play game, a TV and plenty of space! Advantages: Hilarious and Good exercise! Great for kiddies.
Disadvantages: Gets rather 'same-ey'

...Well, You can do pretty much anything on this genius of a toy. You stick it in your PS2 bim bam boosh! and your ready to go. Very very easy setup. You select a game and the camera shows you on the tv and you use your hands and arms to play the games. You can dance to tracks, you can wipe windows, do football headers, perform a fireworks display, kung foo-in fact you can do nearly anything. Its so fun and if you get the highest score you can have your photo took! You can also create video messages and pass them onto others, you can add special effects such as making you look like your underwater or fairy dust falling which also adds to the fun! Its great as you can play in a group and compete in competitions with each other. Even better for younger kids. But make sure you have a decent amount of space to play! We dont want no broken...
