.... and baby makes four
Review of Member Advice on Introducing a New Baby Into the Family by
tyllwyd
Advantages: A new brother or sister!
Disadvantages: Sleepless nights, sibling rivalry .... need I go on?!
...and that I would help as soon as I could, but she had to wait her turn. Rather than always blaming Kathy, I tried to explain that there were four people in the family – Rachel, Kathy, Mummy and Daddy – and that we were all equally important.
Luckily, Rachel forgot all about being possessive about her toys as long as she knew that she was allowed to say no if Kathy got hold of a particular toy. She did get quite unsettled at times, and would run away and shriek if Kathy made loud screeching noises – which Kathy did more and more often because it got such as good reaction from her sister!
She also went through stages when she would decide that being a baby was a good way to get attention, so she would crawl or lie on the floor wailing loudly. We found that the best way to deal with it was not to react, and just calmly tell her to behave...

Baby Annabell, A welcome edition to the family!
Review of Zapf Baby Annabell by
nat_the_great
Advantages: A very life like baby doll that any litle girl would love
Disadvantages: The accessories are quite expensive
..., outfits, cots and many more things, all bearing the sheep logo. Some of these are very expensive (you can buy a wardrobe for Baby Annabell that costs £40 and upwards and an outfit costs around £15 to £20) but I have found that if you shop around you can find some places where the prices are a little more reasonable.
As I said before, my daughters Baby Annabell is nearly a year old now and is still played with often and much loved.
Most age groups seem to enjoy playing with Baby Annabell, but I would say she is aimed at 3-6 year olds.
The doll encourages role playing and changing her clothes helps to develop motor skills. She might be a good buy for someone who has a new edition to the family on the way and wants to help their little one understand how babies behave.
Baby Annabell is the most popular toy my daughter has had and I can...

Weird family, psycho baby, cool dog
Review of Channel 4 - Family Guy by
brookss
Advantages: the baby's plans and the dogs advice
Disadvantages: not enough episodes to rival the simpsons yet
...Family guy is a new classic.
I watched half an episode once and though I didn’t like it so didn’t watch again (I can be judgemental like that).
My wife watched it a couple of times and then insisted we watch it every time. She really liked baby Stewie and the talking dog Brian.
The basic premise of this series is a bit more normal than the Simpsons. The characters are a lot more realistic.
The family is what seems to be the average American family (at least for TV shows and cartoons).
Peter - An overweight father with a boring job.
Lois - A somewhat attractive mother(as cartoons go she’s no Jessica Rabbit or Wilma Flintstone but she ain’t Patty and Selma either).
Chris - An overweight son with no interest in doing anything (except possibly watching TV)
Meg – Slightly overweight teenage girl with all...

Family Holiday with a toddler and baby
Review of Key Camp Family Holidays by
connie1910
Advantages: Great Directrions, Cheap if booked in advance
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...We went for our first holiday as a family of 4 in June this year. We spent 7 days with Keycamp at there Menhirs site in Normandy. It was FANTASTIC.
We booked in October last year and the total cost for ferry and mobile home was in the region of £500.
With Keycamp you can choose from a number of 'camping' options. The basic and cheapest being their Canvas tents, the basic mobile home 'Classic Midi', followed by Supernovas and Villa Grande. We opted for the Supernova which consisted of a lounge come dining room, kitchen, bathroon (shower) and 2 bedrooms. The Villa Grandes did look more luxiourious and come with a micorwave -BUT - they are more expensive as well.
We had a double room (bed, wardrobe and chest of draws but not enough room to swing a cat!). Our 2 year old slept on the the bottom bunk in the small bedroom...

Preparing for a new BABY on a BUDGET
Review of Member Advice on Preparing for your Baby's Arrival by
Lizamabug
Advantages: This'll tell you everything you could possibly want to know
Disadvantages: It'll also tell you a hundred and one things you don't
...'t bulk buy anything till you've seen what suits your particular baby. Some Mums swear that Pampers leak and Huggies don't and vice versa whilst others reckon they'd never use anything besides Sainsbury's own. I personally found Huggies nappies to be both the cheapest and the best. I only use four or five a day and the value packs with 72 nappies in work out cheaper per nappy than the small packs of Tesco own brand (which I tried and needed seven or eight per day of). My advice would be to look at which brands your friends and family say work(ed) for them and read a few Ciao reviews then go out and buy a small pack to try out with your new addition. If they work out for you then great, buy in bulk, and if they don't then try another small pack. Never hoard large amounts of the same size just because they're on offer though and don't move...

Coping with having a premature baby.
Review of Member advice on having a premature baby. by
Hannahlady
Advantages: None.
Disadvantages: See op.
...of his own, the proud Dad it never seemed to cross his mind that she was in real danger. I wonder if he was being strong for me and if he was he did it very well although it baffled me totally.
FIND A FRIEND.
When you have a baby in NICU they usually have a place to parents to chill out and take time out from the stress of it all. In our case they had a parent’s room and a flat to stay in when preparing to leave with your baby and for when your baby is very ill. Take advantage of this. I found it wonderful to go and sit in a completely home like environment within the hospital and just watch telly or read and only be across the hall from the NICU. The other advantage of this is the opportunity it makes for meeting other parents and sharing your experiences. I met a group of families and their babies and we still meet up now and have...

My Baby Book - A First Five Year Diary.
Review of Baby Record Book by
HeartOfGold
Advantages: Good for keeping memories
Disadvantages: Might forget to fill it in
...hospital bracelet.
“My Family Tree”. It has a drawing of a tree, like something out of “The Animals of Farthing Wood,” with baby animals dancing around the bottom. On the tree there are circles for pictures to be stuck to, and the name of that person. It asks for pictures of the child’s Mother, Father, both Grandmothers, both Grandfathers and brothers or sisters.
“My Name”. The picture on this page is really sweet. It’s of little baby animals reading a Big Book of Names. The book is bigger than all of them put together. There’s also a picture of a little teddy with a blindfold on. This page asks for the child’s first name, the country where the name came from, what the name means and who chose the name. Also, it asks what other names the child has, why these names were chosen and who chose these other names.
“Register of My...

Review of The Royle Family The Complete Series 3 by
lulu_111
Advantages: very funny
Disadvantages: not as good are the first 2 series. No extras on the DVD
...there are no extras on the DVD. I would have liken to see some outakes and perhaps commentary on a couple of epsiodes.

All arise for The Royle Family
Review of BBC1 - The Royle Family by
mmuk
Advantages: Laugh a second, great characters, superb script
Disadvantages: only half an hour and 6 episodes a series
...is close in comparison to the actress who plays her, Caroline Aherne. She smokes and gets drunk a lot. Denise is married to Dave and they have a child, Baby David.
Antony – personal slave to the rest of his family. Found a girlfriend to dampen the claims of his sexuality. Jim is always going on about this. Constantly gets called lazy, even though Lurchio is the most active of the family. Going out with Emma, who is now pregnant and the two are going to be married. Best mates with Darren.
Dave Best – married to Denise and practically the sole parent to baby David. Usually sides with Jim, although he doesn’t always want to be involved. Local DJ and part time removal man. Denise has him under the thumb. Soft git.
Norma – known as Nana, mortal enemies with Jim, best friend Elsie died and she ended up stealing...
