Standard Fender Stratocaster! (Made in Mexico)
Review of Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar by
adam56
Advantages: Fender strat's are the stereotypical electric guitar!
Disadvantages: Quality can be poor with large amps
...I bought my Fender stratocaster a few years ago, and i have loved every minute of playing it, i use my fender stratocaster with my Marshall MG30DFX, which sounds great. The Fender has an unmistakably smooth, and almost beautiful tone to it.
The fretboard:
The fretboard is shaped perfectly to fit every size of hand, my strat may only have 21 frets, but its all about quality not quantity!
The frets are just big enough to seperate the chords and help you to depict individual notes, but not too big to stop you from those brilliant slides up and down the neck.
The pickups:
These traditional fender pickups are placed in appropraite places, with one at the bridge, one near the fretboard and one in between. Overall these pickups are good, but not excellent, they are good enough for small scale practice and beginer playing...

Fender Japanese Stratocaster 1991
Review of Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar by
andycharger
Advantages: Great Fender sound
Disadvantages: Dont make them anymore.
...I own a Left Handed Black Fender strat that is nearly 10 years old now. It is still in lovely condition due to the lack of play as i prefer my Aria Pro II Semi Acoustic to practice on. My Fender has a lovely sound to it. Crisp and clear. Its not like the Warm sound of my Semi or the grunt that a Gibson Les paul gives out.
Mine is one of the last Japanese Fenders to come out of the factory before they switched production to Mexico. They make an even cheaper Fender now at the factory in Korea but it really is not worth bothering with.
people say that there is a lot of difference between a Jap Strat and a USA one but im yet to see the proof. they both sound the same. the build Quality appears the same. It may be that the components used are not of the same quality as my pickups are starting to give a lot of feedback through the amp...

Fender Mexican Telecaster (MEXTEX)
Review of Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar by
metal_yarnold
Advantages: an excelent intermediate guitar, extremely well constructed and for £319 i coudnt want anymore
Disadvantages: high actions, 21 frets (im moving onto shred at the moment)
...It is a 2002 standard mexican tele(caster). It has a 21 fret neck and it's a solid top. I had it in arctic white which in my opinion is the only colour too have it in. On the tone side of things it comes with a hot rail and a single coil both Fender I think. It has a treble knob and a volume. It uses a 3 way selector system. The bridge is the standard tele bridge. Ihe neck is nice and medium sized and for my playing at the time of purchase which was mainly punk and blues it was unbelievable. The tuners are standerd tele style. It is all american hardware just assembled in mexico.
I mainly play blues music so it realy suits my music style. it can be pushed to a rock tone and can easily make a trebely light tone. The sound is realy bright. the tele was originaly meant for blues so it hasn't changed a bit. Only purchase this if you...

Fender's DG25S - A Lovely Little Acoustic
Review of Fender DG-25S Acoustic Guitar by
BlueMidget
Advantages: Well balanced tone,
Disadvantages: Prone to scratches
...I bought my Fender DG25S several years ago when visiting my brother up in Newcastle. I'd been looking to buy an acoustic guitar for some time and my brother took me to his local music shop where he was friends with the manager. On the first day we got there a little late and the shop was closing, so I only had a chance to try a couple of guitars. In particular, a blonde Gibson (think John Lennon-style) really stood out for me and I thought I'd found my guitar, for £320. We decided to go back the next day at a more respectable hour so I could spend my hard-earned cash.
On the second day we bumped into my brother's friend who about to go on his lunch, but mentioned that there was a very nice Fender going on special offer. My initial reaction was that Fender are not renowned for the quality of their acoustics and thought it couldn...

VIVA MEXICO
Review of Mexico City (Mexico) by
xelan
Advantages: More filled with excitement than Robbie Williamses pants
Disadvantages: Keep your ehad screwed on and there are none.
...Mexico City. The world’s fourth biggest city, with probably one of the worst reputations. I went there not by choice but out of necessity because that was the only way you could have gotten me there. I was living in Mexico, about five hours away from Mexico City in a place called San Luis Potosi when my passport ran out. That meant only one thing. A trip to the British Embassy in Mexico City.
I was terrified.
Because you read about it don’t you? You read about all the horrific things that happen in Mexico City. You read that Mexico has the highest Kidnapping rate in the world. (It’s just taken over from Columbia) You read about people that only stepped out of their hotel rooms for a second and are mugged on the doorstep. So I wasn’t looking forward to it.
This is what I found.
We took the bus in and hit Mexico City...

Fender Dimension IV Bass - A new Dimension?
Review of Fender Dimension IV Bass Guitar by
rowemg
Advantages: Great variety in sound, Well built, good name
Disadvantages: Need to fiddle a bit at first to get the sound you want
...Fender are trying to create a new look and feel for themselves with this Bass. The active electronics and built in EQ are a radical change from older Fender basses.
So what do you get for your money.
The bass is well built and the action is low and reliable (little or no buzz). The pickups are one precision bass type and one jazz bass type. This results in very little unwanted noise. These can be mixed via a control that allows you to have all one pickup or all of the other or anywhere in between. A nice touch on all of the eq controls and the mix control (they call it a pan control) is that the centre point has a click point so you know exactly where it is.
The sound through an amp is awesome and very controlable. You can go from a nice mellow sound right through to a heavy rock sound just by messing with the pan and eq pots...

If you don't want to get mugged or kidnapped in Mexico City - Read this.
Review of Mexico City (Mexico) by
travelbug
Advantages: Lots of fun, loads to do, easy to get to other places
Disadvantages: Can be very dangerous
...I used to live in Mexico city. There are a couple of things that all travellers there should know. For a start, never take a taxi off the street. Get your hotel to call you a sitio taxi. Your name and destination are then recorded. This is important because in Mexico City there are many kidnappings, muggings and murders. You will be targeted if you don't look latino.
If for some reason you have to get in a taxi off the street there are a couple of things that you can do to protect yourself. The first is to make sure the license plate starts with an 'L'or an 'S' if it doesn't it probably means that the taxi is stolen and that the person driving it is in a crime ring which mugs passengers. The second check is to make sure that the number on the license plate matches the number on the side of the door. The third check...

Fender Stratocaster 1962 Reissue (Japan)
Review of Fender 62 Stratocaster Electric Guitar by
richard_richard
Advantages: Great neck, good build quality, value for money
Disadvantages: Low output pickups, not suited for heavier music styles
...Introduction
I own a Fender Stratocaster 1962 reissue guitar that I purchased way back in 1989. This guitar was manufactured in Japan at some point during 1988.
This guitar is something that I am pretty fond of, what with it being my first "proper" guitar, and at the time taking me the best part of a year to save up for!
I purchased this guitar from Peter Cook's music shop in London and paid the sum of £299. Try buying a guitar made in Japan for that sort of money these days and you will struggle! Most low to medium price guitars are now made in India, China or Taiwan. It seems quite ironic to me that Japan has now become too expensive to manufacture lower priced guitars in!
Specifications
This guitar is based on the design of the 1962 Stratocaster. Therefore it has features common to Fender Strats of that era...

Fender our friend
Review of Fender Standard Precision Electric Bass by
Chippy19884
Advantages: the best bass in the world
Disadvantages: may be a bit costly
...Fender has had a long established reputation as one of the best guitar and bass retailers (if not the best) in the world. The fender precision bass is what I aspire to owning and not because of the name. This bass is the most comfortable and smooth bass I have ever played, and I assure you I have touched many a bass because all I do on weekends is go about music stores playing with the expensive guitars. The cheapest I saw one of these was about £250 brand new, one day I'll buy this and I'll never need another bass ever. plus they come in a range of colours from red to black to cream. If yuor in a band then I would recommend it as it is not only sooo good but it is VERY reliable and will almost never let you down. think smart, think fender standard precision bass....

Fender Princeton
Review of Fender Princeton 112 Plus by
godspeed
Advantages: Great looks, decent volume
Disadvantages: Volume control, clean tone controls
...'t suit everyone's needs. I managed to get a great grungy tone out of it.
The distortion channel (as with many other solid-state amps I have seen) hums quite a lot. This isn't really a problem when playing live, but for recording is a bit of a nightmare.
I mainly use an effects chain through the clean channel, so the lack of decent EQ on this channel was a bit of a dissapointment, but the two controls are responsive, and there's plently of bass and treble there for you to dial-in.
The most annoying problem with this amp, as mentioned by Paolo1, is the sensitivity of the volume controls. Virtually all of the volume change occurs from 0-1, so you need a REALLY steady hand to get control over it.
The amp doesn't come with a footswitch, but the two-button unit that can be bought from Fender is a good upgrade, switching channels, and also...
