The X-Files .. what X-File?!?
Review of X-Files - I Want To Believe DVD by
danmclovin
Advantages: Good crime thriller, plenty of suspense!
Disadvantages: Not really an X-File film, poor ending!
...The X-Files: I Want to Believe is the second movie to be created following the hit tv show The X-Files, made famous back in the 90's. The movie was released this year, and is directed by Chris Carter, who also directed and produced the original series. The movie stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and also sees Billy Connolly, Amanda Peet and rap & tv-star Exzibit appear.
When an FBI agent goes missing, the only leads the FBI have come from a disgraced priest, Father Joseph Grissman (Billy Connolly), trying to redeem himself from his sinful past, who claims to have psychic visions of the occurrence. Baffled, and with no other leads to go on, the FBI turn to ex-agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Mulder, who is wanted by the FBI on other charges, agrees to help when all charges against him...

A Bluffers' Guide To The X-Files
Review of BBC2 - X Files by
SkyscraperFanClub
Advantages: Imaginative, engaging, brilliant mythology plot.
Disadvantages: Film wasn't great and the TV show losing its' spark in general.
...When ‘The X-Files’ began in 1993, it was critically and publicly acclaimed as being one of the most original and well-written series on television. The paranormal investigations of F.B.I. Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully captivated imaginations worldwide. Now in its’ seventh season in America, the show has declined little in quality, but greatly in popularity.
The first season of ‘The X-Files’ was comprised of individual, stand-alone episodes with plots and storylines separate from each. This began to change with episode 20, ‘Tooms (Squeeze 2)’ which followed up a story begun earlier in the year. After this, the writers began to sow the seeds of a larger storyline concerning alien abduction, government conspiracy, and Armageddon. The concluding episode of the season, ‘The...

X Files Season 1 box set DVD.
Review of BBC2 - X Files by
Silent_Bob
Advantages: Every episode of the first series, great extras
Disadvantages: Picture sometimes gets dodgy
...The X-files season 1 DVD box set comes with seven disks, there are 24 episodes with each of six disks containing four, and the final seventh disk is left for the extras. The whole package comes in a cardboard box; with an outer sleeve that holds the inside box that fold out to hold all seven disks. One side of the fold out holds the disks and a booklet while the other side is decorated with stills and quotes from the series. While the box is extremely stylish and cool it WILL get damaged and torn through time and is already starting to show the effects of living on my active DVD shelves. The booklet also holds quotes and information about each episode in this series, like who wrote each one and directed it. At the back of the booklet it then lists each episode from each series in order highlighting the ones that were released on special...

Mulder Gone is Just What The X-files Needed
Review of BBC2 - X Files by
sngroover
Advantages: More good episodes
Disadvantages: No Mulder
...There are two types of X-file fan:
a) One who likes Mulder best
b) One who likes Scully best.
It really is as simple as that. Those who chose the latter will not be too bothered at the prospect of Mulder leaving the show. The others? Well, they probably aren't reading this opinion. So is Mulder leaving a good thing? Well, as you may have deduced from the title, I think it is. To demonstrate why, I shall have to divide the show into two sections. You see, there are two types of X-file episode:
a) The one-off episodes about a monster, ghost, or some other odd creature
and
b) What I call the "conspiracy episodes"
I always find the former to be a lot better, but, then, the X-files wouldn't be the X-files without any of the latter. However, when too many "conspiracy episodes" build up, the X-files gets, shall we say...

The X-Files Game
Review of The X-Files Game (PC) by
Lovely
Advantages: Story line, Graphics and easy to get the updates
Disadvantages: Doesn't last long enough for me.
...I was given the X-Files game from my husband as I'm a great fan of The X-Files, this game is one of the best that I have played, it keeps you interested all the time, you never know what's coming. The game is on CD format for the PC, the graphics and story line is brilliant. What really interested me was that you can update it just by going online and downloading the updates from the website that they CD Rom gives you. The game and the updates are really worth the money that you pay. A lot of games you would pay the same for and the graphics and story line is no match to the X-Files game. I would recommend everyone buys this product for 2 reason's
1) If you like any game that keeps you guessing and at the edge of your seat then go for this because its a brilliant game.
2) If your an X-File fan then you should get this just...

Rockford Files
Review of The Rockford Files - Series 2 (Box Set) by
sjp1966
Advantages: good stories, good memories
Disadvantages: may be dated for some
...get this stwait" line was going to come up at some point, and that he had the puzzle solving mind of a mensa genius, he would also always get his man (or woman).
And so it was the same with the Rockford Files, we always new that he would eventually get his criminal and that he will be back in the next show with more witty one liners. The good thing about the Rockford Files is that the main Character was "human" in that he didn't win every single fight; he wasn't a goody two shoes, sometimes even getting involved in the villain's plans. In other words he was flawed, almost an anti-hero in some cases although ultimately his heart was in the right place and he was charming with it, we certainly warmed to him and wished him the best every time.
Other characters that make the show are Sergeant (later lieutenant) Dennis Becker (Joe Santos...

Darker, Sleeker...Creepier - Classic X Files...
Review of The X-Files - Series 2 - Complete (M-Lock Packaging) by
heroesanddemons
Advantages: Overall excellent episodes, perfect casting, excellent special features
Disadvantages: Outdated special effects, a few bad episodes
...After the bold and daring first series, we open up once more into the world of the X Files. With a year of experience under their belts, the creative team decided to take things to a new level in Season 2, a challenge which I believe they met brilliantly.
Opening post-shut down of the X Files themselves, the early episodes of this season focus mainly on Mulder, giving Gillian Anderson the much needed break to give birth. How is this executed? Watch and find out - it's a definite shocker. But rest assured, the remainder of the season once again teams Mulder and Scully together to try and discover more about alien conspiracies and the strange world in which we live. Bold strides were taken with the writing for many of the episodes - with strange concepts such as killer fungus ("Firewalker"), a human-flukeworm hybrid ("The Host") or even...

The X Files - Season 3 on DVD
Review of SKY/RTE/BBC - The X-Files by
cheekypixies
Advantages: Various clips on foreign languages.. behind the scenes... endless features..
Disadvantages: Box can damage easily
...Collectors Edition Series 3 DVD Boxset - Thanks Mum!
This has got to be one of my more appreciated Christmas presents this year. (Oh, apart from the fasionable Grandad slippers and endless supply of shower gel etc etc...)
Now, I'm not going to start explaining what the X Files are, as I'm sure you all know. When, somewhere back in 2000 I bought the first boxset, I asked when the next one would be released, and was told that they have no intentions of releasing any further boxsets, but here I sit with the third one.
This boxset is an absolute must for any true fans of the show, as it includes every single episode from the third season of the X Files.
The price certianly does vary, as I have seen it sell for as much as £89.99 in the over-prices music store, but also have seen it prices as little as £65.99 in my preferred local...

Ok, I Am Mad, But I Must Have Been Craaaazy
Review of Boss 6 Drawer Compact Seatbox by
BJEEE
Advantages: Sturdy, well made, comfortable blah blah blah
Disadvantages: Pricey...but thats it.
...).
The BOSS box, since the humble company beginnings around 10 years (ish) ago, hasn’t actually changed much. The boxes basically look the same, are made to the same exceptionally high standards, and prices haven’t really changed *that* much.
Every angler has different needs (Yep, it true!! We don’t all just sit there doing exactly the same thing). Companies like BOSS obviously understand this and their range of products is set out to give the anglers what they need. For example, my box has: (I’ll explain all of this in a bit more detail in a minute).
• A pole seat
• Winder Tray
• 6 Drawers – 4 shallow (25 mm deep), 2 deep (50 mm deep)
• 2 intermediate trays (approx. 60 mm each)
• A shallow fibreglass base (90 mm)
• Aluminium footplate
• 6 Mudfeet (inc...

▼ My Drawers are See Through ▼
Review of NEFF K 4255 X1 by
susie191
Advantages: See through drawers 50:50 fridge freezer, cool top, cold bottom.
Disadvantages: Built in means you lose some capacity.
...through drawers.
▼▲ A Cool Top ▼▲
The 50/50 Fridge Freezer model is a built in appliance so it is all behind two closed doors and is therefore nicely hidden away. The fridge is on the top which is in my opinion the right way round. I only occasionally open the freezer but am always getting milk or whatever from the fridge. This saves a lot of bending. The doors can be hinged either on the left or right of the appliance. Ours hinge on the left.
When you open the the fridge door you are faced with a decent sized interior; it has 151 litres useable capacity. There are plenty of shelves and mini shelves in the door which can be repositioned to suit the way you stack your fridge contents. There are two see through salad drawers at the bottom of the fridge allowing you easy viewing of what is inside them. One...
