Cycle your way to a bargain at Cycle King
Review of Cycle King, Sawbridgeworth by
GraingerN
Advantages: competitive prices, excellent service, free fitting and pre-check
Disadvantages: -
...I had toyed with the idea of buying a mountain bike for about a year, looking at all the accessories and the child seats on offer for my daughter. It always seemed to be expensive when I looked at products in Halfords and the range of stuff in Toys'R'Us. I even checked out the range in my Index and Argos home catalogues, they did seem a little cheaper but then their service stopped at delivery, you then had to fit everything and make sure the bike was ready for use which considering my daughter was going to be riding along on the back in her childs seat left me feeling very uneasy.
On passing through Sawbridgeworth, Herts (just outside Harlow) one day I remembered their bike shop now called Cycle King (used to be Thakes) from memory this is where my parents used to buy my bikes when I was a child and they never experienced any...

BIKEmate Cycling computer - get on ya bike !
Review of BIKEmate Cycling computer by
lostsworld
Advantages: small, easy to use, cheap
Disadvantages: not accurate
...After buying a mountain bike over a year ago, I must admit I hardly ever use it. This year I've started making a few changes to my life and one is to start some form of exercise to become slightly fitter - so I bought a cycling computer !
No it won't make me fit but I thought it would act as an incentive to get me out and about because its a new gadget for me to play with but obviously have to travel far to test it properly.
Oooooookaaaaaaaay you're thinking ! but anyway, I ordered it from that lovely little place called ebay for £5.99 and thought what a bargain. Similar computers with only 9 functions cost about £15 in the shops and do less. So it arrives typically on a day I have to go to work and can't use it :(. When I get home from work I read the booklet - yes us men can read booklets its just half the time we choose not too...

Cycling through life
Review of Member Advice on Cycling by
iancozens12
Advantages: Great fun for all
Disadvantages: sometimes hard going
...How would a cyclist describe cycling?
It's fun for a start, as I find there is nothing better than waking up early and cycling a couple of miles, the feeling as you push off with the air rushing past is almost unbeatable in thus calm rush it gives you.
The second aspect of cycling is fitness. When I say this to most people they gabble on about how some bloke on his expensive road bike clad in lycra held them up while they were driving along in air conditioned comfort. But it is more than that, the great thing about cycling is that you can feel the improvement, you may never be able to go more than 40 miles but if you try you can get close.
Now for the bit where I have to focus on the worst part of being a cyclist, traffic and pedestrians. Most drivers would like all cyclists to ride on the pavements to leave 'their' roads clear...

My life Cycle
Review of Cycling - General by
Kingkarliii
Advantages: Keeps you fit
Disadvantages: makes your legs ache
.... the peace the tranquility the beauty and self achievement is so rewading. It feels that not only am I gaining all that, but also getting fit at the same time. I still cycle a bit but nowhere near as often as what I did and stick to doing a maximum of 10 miles at a time, but after writing this I think I shall plan A trip round the Broads in Suffolk with the nice weather just ahead.
Thanks for reading my life story on cycling....

Staind - Break The Cycle
Review of Break The Cycle [PA] - Staind by
ManUtdBoi
Advantages: fantastic music and thoughtful lyrics
Disadvantages: fred durst association
...Yes, im a fan of Staind and quite frankly, am fed up to the back teeth of people who call them boring. I can understand that they may not be to everyone's tastes, but I have heard people put them down before even listening to their music because their ashamed of being uncool.
Other Staind releases -
Dysfunction (1999)
14 Shades Of Grey (2003)
Now for starters, Break The Cycle was not only the biggest selling rock album of 2001, but it was also one of top 10 sellers from any genre and had two singles, 'It's been a while' and 'outside', that both charted very high in the singles charts, which for a rock band is a massive achievement.
Staind are an extremely diverse band, with songs ranging from the verge of screaming to suddenly pulling off an absolute gem of a ballad. My favourite song would have to be 'Epiphany...

Time to get fit!
Review of Fitness First, London by
MitchellandAimeesMum
Advantages: 5 min walk from office, small yet spacious
Disadvantages: no swimming pool, can get busy between 12.45 and 2pm
...be a bit noisy. Walking thorugh the turnstiles takes you to the left to the women's changing rooms and to the right of the cardio equipment to the mens.
The women's changing rooms are equipped with some 300 lockers which are activated with your membership card. It also boasts hairdryers, Sauna (in the shower area) and 6 shower cubicles.
**WORK OUT AREAS**
Cardio - This boasts around 15 cross trainers as does the treadmills and these are the most busy pieces of equipment. There are also two stairmasters and 6 cycles and two rowing machines all of which face 9 t.v. screens. To listen to the sound just plug in your headset (any one will work) and select the channel and you then listen to the one you want to watch.
Weights - this area of my Fitness First is mostly men.
Studios - One studio is used for "Spinning" classes used...

The Peak of Fitness
Review of Peak Fitness, Gloucester by
little_minx26
Advantages: Good classes, excellent customer service
Disadvantages: No pool
...Aerobics. There are both daytime and evening classes. I've very rarely had a problem booking in for a class. They usually only get full after New Years when all the resolutions start again!
I've tried out the Yoga, BodyBalance and LBT (Legs, Bums, Tums) classes, all of which are excellent and run by well trained staff. I hurt my back recently and the instructor made sure that I didn't do any moves that weren't suitable and reccomended other excersises for me to try that might help.
The Spin (mad cycling) class looks very scarey and the Latino Aerobics looks great fun, but I have 2 left feet! Rather than go through what each class entails I'd reccomend you look at the Les Mills website http://www.lesmills.com/ which describes them.
The one downside to the fact the club is so small is that the spin bikes in the Gloucester Peak Fitness...

Fit for life, Brillient
Review of Fit for Life - Harvey Diamond by
elliebelle9
Advantages: Get healthy, feel great and lose weight
Disadvantages: There is alot of refering to other people and sources
...As our body is a self sufficient machine that means it will fix its self and take care of it by cleaning our in sides out and staying as fit and thin as we should be.
The body does this by using every spare bit of energy it has to clean the body and rid it off fat cells, so when the body has a major job to do like digesting food it has to stop burning and pushing out fat cells and concentrate on doing that.
The most energy consuming thing our bodies have to do is digest food, we use about 90% of our daily energy burning of food so the obvious thing is to use less energy burning off food so your body can spend more of its time getting rid of toxic rubbish, fat cells and bits of old food that have been lodge in your stomach for years, nice thought!
Here’s how to do this, I have read | | |
