Sandisk ultra super duper!
Review of Sandisk Compact Flash CF 512 Ultra II 512 MB by
Rachaellmackenzie
Advantages: Faster than the standard card
Disadvantages: More expensive than the standard card!
...I have decided that all my memory cards for my digital cameras are going to be Sandisk from now on!!!
If I am right, Sandisk were the first ones to ever introduce Compact flash cards onto the market... way back when.......
Compact flash cards are widely used, not just for cameras etc but they can be used for memory for so many other items of hardware.
When I bought my first digital camera many moons ago I used to go for whatever was available at the time and probably the cheapest that was available but after using the Sandisk Ultra cards I changed my mind about that! However I would most definitely stick with compact flash cards! The deciding factor on my most recent camera was the fact that it used compact flash cards as its memory. I find that the compact flash cards are useful for a few reasons:
The size makes it hard...

Transfer Pictures or Data in a flash
Review of Belkin Compact Flash Media Reader by
free_peace_sweet
Advantages: Quick, reliable and easy to use
Disadvantages: Short lead
...The Belkin Compact Flash Card Reader is a great product for those who use the compact flash data storage system. Compact flash cards are found in handheld pc and digital cameras. They are used to store data such as files or pictures. Once these are full or if the data needs to be moved to a pc this is where the Belkin Compact Flash Card Reader comes in. The Card Reader reads the information stored on the compact flash card and transfers it quickly to a folder on your pc.
Most Products that use compact flash come with a transfer cable anyway to use with your pc so you may think why do I need one? The reason why card readers are needed is because they are quicker and more reliable than just transferring directly from your device. The reason for this is the Device is usually operated via batteries and it requires a lot of power...

Reliable Memory product
Review of Kingston HI Speed Elite PRO Compact Flash 4096 MB by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: Fast write speed, Reliable (estimated to last over 100 years)
Disadvantages: none
...Kingston is one of the largest memory card manufacturers in the world. They are renowned for their high quality memory products. The provided picture by Ciao shows a 2GB version of the card rather than a 4GB one, which it should be. Compact flash cards (including this one) are fairly large, with an approximate length of 4.2 cm, an approximate height of 3.5 cm and an approximate depth of 0.3 cm (3 mm). Taking everything into account you can see that compact flash cards are quite large, but still very small regarding the amount of memory they can hold.
All Kingston flash compact cards (including this one) work in temperatures up to just over 85 degrees centigrade and minus temperatures up to -40 degrees centigrade. This can be seen both as an advantage as well as a disadvantage as it would mean that the memory card will function...

Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash CF 1GB
Review of Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash CF 1GB 1024 MB by
colmme
Advantages: Very fast write speed, Low energy consuption. Inexpensive.
Disadvantages: Small capacity relative to new camera capabilities
...I bought this card along with my Olympus e-500 camera as it was recommended by the seller from whom I bought it. The recommendation was quite good as the card was relatively inexpensive and is very quick writing to the card, there is little if any storage lag. Energy consumption is low relative to other cards on the market, particularly cards by cheaper manufacturers such as Kingston. This card supports all types of data however to access this functionality a USB connector is required. This particular model of the card is quickly becoming obsolete because of the relatively small amount of datait can hold. Sandisk has similar cards on the market now that can store up to 16 times the amount this card can. However, the card is cheap and is still a very reliable and fast card for use perhaps as a backup or overflow card....

Very Compact, Very Flash
Review of SanDisk Flash memory by
jamiem
Advantages: Cheap, Reliable
Disadvantages: None That I Can Think Of
...Now where to start? I think a quick explanation of what Compact Flash (CF) actually is would be a good start.
----=What is Compact Flash?=----
It’s a type of data storage card, normally used in digital cameras, MP3 players, Mobile phones etc. It measures about 4cm x 4cm with a row of small holes (50 to be precise!) on one side. This is the connector through which the data is passed when the card is in use.
Note: Not all cameras, Mp3 players etc use compact flash. there are at least four other types of card (Smartmedia, Secure Data, Sony Memory Stick, Multi-media) just to confuse things further, so please check what type you need before purchasing!
----=How Does It Work?=----
Inside the card is a small memory chip that is solid state, very much like the BIOS chip inside your PC. Because it is solid state, it means...

No need to buy any more memory cards!
Review of Archos 4-in-1 CompactFlash Adapter by
ross88guy
Advantages: Compact and Does what is is designed to do, good online support
Disadvantages: Can be tricky to use with Archos Media Players
...The arcos 4 in 1 Compact flash adaptor enables you to transfer jpeg images from Xd. Memory stick, Scan disk and Multimedia cards to a Compact Flash compatible source.
There isn't a lot to say about such a device, as it is relatively simple and straightforward to use.
The card adaptor measured 600mm x 400mm and is a compact design with no wasted space or fancy patterns. It is designed to be a functional device and so not a lot of time was put into the design of it. However you wouldn't buy it for its aesthetics, you would buy it because it is made by Archos, which is a technology company that is well recognised and has an international reputation for quality. This fact is well advertised on the product as a bright red Archos label takes half of the top face.
The card adaptor performs its functionality seamlessly when used with other...

Back in a flash
Review of Samsung Digital Camera Compact Flash 1GB Card by
coledsteel
Advantages: 1 GB memory! 12 times that of a CD
Disadvantages: Burns a hole in your pocket
...Excellent compact flash card and great value for money. The card is stylish and very flexible in its uses. You can use it in your digital camera, in your mp3 player, some portable video players and other high tech portable gadgets. Very handy on the move and interchangeable with others that you may have. This is the highest memory flash card i have seen (1000mb- thats whole gig!), and for the price it is worth it to pay a little bit extra for double the 500mb memory. Which would up your devices performance in the memory department considerably. Considering that 512 mb can be anything up to 90 pounds alone, double the memory for 99 is certainly a bargain!
In a camera its like changing film, with much less of the hassle of pulling back levers and pulling the ancient Nikon apart while warping the film by mistake. You just pull your old one...

Winning the card wars
Review of Minolta SD-CF1 CompactFlash Card Adapter by
Kingseany
Advantages: Use 2 types of cards in one camera
Disadvantages: Pricey
...If like me, you've got a variety of cameras, using different memory cards, you sometimes wish there was only one format. Why? Because then you can just buy a load of cards all of the same sort, and they'd work in all the cameras. The Minolta SD-CF1 is an adapter for those with a whole load of SD (Secure Digital) type cards, who also have a CF (Compact Flash) compatible camera too. Why should I need to buy a 512Mb CF for my Minolta, when I have a perfectly good 512Mb SD card for my brand new Megxon? Well with this device, I won't of course.
Although it's made by Minolta, and Minolta themselves only advertise it as compatible with certain cameras in their own range, it will in fact work with a variety of other CF cameras, including Canon and Nikon.
It's very simple. You take your adapter, slot the SD card into it, then slot the whole...

polaroid 3070 3.2 megapixelversion
Review of Polaroid PDC 3070 by
braddarkes1
Advantages: light, reasnably small, aesy to use
Disadvantages: flash drains the battery
...Ok so im no photographer but i found this little camera very easy to use with little symbols on each button i hardly needed the instructions. Also when connecting the camera to a computor it is very simple and just appears as a portable drive in your "my computor" window.
Although i feel this camera has some drawbacks as the flash on my camera seems to drain the battery and after a few uses of the flash it either takes along while to warm up for another use or the flash simpily fails to work. so i would not not advise this camera to someone if they were goin to use it in the dark alot. also a small problem is that the sticker on the camera leaves a tacky surface when pulled off.
tip: when inserting the SD card (expandable memory card) push the card in so that it clicks you will probably need small fingers or finger nails as the card...

Fast Access SD Card
Review of Sandisk Extreme III SDHC Secure Digital 4096 MB by
Surj1
Advantages: 4GB, ESP Technology, RescuePRO
Disadvantages: None
...The Sandisk Extreme III 4 GB Compact Flash Card is ideal for digital camera's and camcorders. I needed some extra memory for my digital camera so bought this.
Sandisk have a good reputation in developing flash memory cards so I thought I would go for this. With my digital camera I had a supplied 1GB card which to be honest isn't much when taking high resolution photos, it fill up pretty quick.
The Sandisk SD card is a good size at 4GB storage. It also has ESP technology which basically allows data on the card to be accessed quicker. This is great for fast loading especially when taking photos with a digital camera, as the last thing you want is to wait 1 min to just see the photos you just shot. This simply makes everything that little bit quicker. It can actually access your data at an incredible speed of 20MB per second!
The SD card...
