Keep me Warm and Dry in Winter.
Review of Weatherbeeta Arion Combo Turnout Rugs by  spottydog2

Advantages: Warm, waterproof, easy to use.
Disadvantages: None to me.

...is that they undo in the field. You can go out sometimes and see a surcingle hanging beneath a horses belly. It is not too much of a problem as it shouldn`t touch the floor, but it may be a problem if the horse lies down as it could stand on it. This is the idea of the rubber rings around the fastening. It does seem to prevent them from coming undone. The rug is just as easy to remove and it dries quickly. Advantages. * * * * * * * * * This rug really is waterproof. Most rugs are though, you would expect them to be for use outdoors. It keeps the horse dry though. The neck cover being integral, means that the horses neck does not get wet. On rugs that have detachable neck covers, you often see the rain getting in where it joins the rug. This doesn`t happen with this rug. Also, with the design of the tail flap, it keeps more of the horses... Read review

the imp thats not too cheeky
Review of Electrolux PC1210 TH by  havanna

Advantages: small...lightweight
Disadvantages: not to good on carpet

...I purchased this model about 6 months ago because at the time i was looking for a lightweight , bagless model that still did the same job as the more expensive models on the market.. I paid £29.99 and have been pleasantly surprised at how good it is..I have wooden floors all over my home and this model handles them with ease..The only down side i have found is it is not very good on the rugs that i have..You have to work harder to make sure the rug is clean.. The vacuum as you can see by the picture is a small compact cylinder cleaner which comes complete with telescopic extension tubes,Tools on board.A 5 metre cord which is perfect if you have a large room that needs to be cleaned. It also has Auto cord rewind. Another good feature is the Translucent dust box, enabling you to see exactly what dirt is being collected from you floors... Read review

Great little vac !
Review of Electrolux Z 7292 Cyclonic by  macaroni_me

Advantages: Cheap, great suction
Disadvantages: Feels cheap !

...I own at least 4 vacuum cleaners. All of which I have bought to replace the others which are rubbish at vacuuming my one small area of rug in the living room, which accumulate all the dog(1) and cat(2) hairs from the rest of the hard floors in my house. I was on the verge of spending £160 on a well researched cleaner when this one was offered on my local freecycle group. It was nearly new, had only been bought and used while their stalwart was in for repair, so I jumped at the opportunity to try it. What could I lose??!! In a word nothing, it knocks spots off the plethora of other vacuum cleaners I own. It sucks those damn hairs off the rug with very little effort and even less time. It comes with 2 filters so I can still clean while letting one filter dry after washing. Its light weight, nippy, and the hoses are log enough for a taller... Read review

Slip Sliding Away
Review of Homebase DIY Flooring by  nitebabe

Advantages: easy to lay, easy to clean, looks really good, has a 10 year guarantee
Disadvantages: takes a bit of time, needs to dry before using

...It’s smooth, looks oh so good and keeping it clean makes it look like Mary Poppins has been in your house. On top of all that you can proudly share your achievement with whoever enters your home and watch their admiration at your abilities as a DIY expert. What on earth is this woman waffling on about now l hear you mutter. Well with times changing and everyone wanting to live in cleaner houses without the horrible thought that dust mites and other nasties are lurking in our carpets what could be more sensible than laminated flooring! This wonderful stuff can be purchased from all good DIY stores. l found that Homebase gave the best deals where we live, as now and then they give wonderful discounts, which if you intend to do your whole house can be a real bargain. Now depending on what you are looking for, laminated flooring... Read review

Swan 1800 watt bagless upright vacuum cleaner.
Review of Swan SU3015 Bagless Upright by  tazlison67

Advantages: powerful, robust,
Disadvantages: tacky onboard tools, difficult to clean top filter, scratches wood flooring.

...upholstery, stairs etc, care must be taken when using this, make sure not to catch anything such as hidden objects, fingers, tassles etc as the brushes rotate at a high rate and could cause serious damage. I have found myself at risk from repetitive strain injury due to constantly having to bend down and pick up the tools which have a tendency to fall off, and paintworks have taken a slight bashing due to tools catching them due to the awkward angle they are stored at on the side of the vacuum cleaner. I would seriously not recommend this hoover to anyone with loose rugs and wood flooring as it is powerful and makes hoovering edges of rugs a problem. Much to my dismay, I have also found many scratches in my wood flooring caused by the hoover which will not polish out even though i have risked further back injuries by stooping up n down... The new man in my life - Henry
Review of Numatic Henry XTRA HVX200-22 by  deepa58

Advantages: Excellent suction, small to store, robust, long lead
Disadvantages: no storage for accessories

...Having owned an upright Dyson, an Electrolux and a Hoover which all failed me eventually, I ordered a new Henry from Cleanstore with 10 extra bags for £115 with free delivery. I placed the order on a Friday and it arrived first thing Monday morning. I was up and hoovering in 5 minutes. It dealt with my wooden floors with ease and the Airo power brush breezed over my carpets. This brush really is impressive. I have a new cream rug in my lounge and the loose pile from this ends up on a red rug in the hallway. I have previously only managed to clean this with a stiff broom and lots of elbow grease. the Henry ate through the fluff and left the rug spotlessly clean. The Henry is robust and easily glides around the room. A generous cable length meant I only had to move plugs once and only when I moved upstairs.. I was able to clean my... Read review

bagless quick and effiecient on hard flooring
Review of VAX V 091 by  midas1

Advantages: bagless, ease of storage
Disadvantages: not as good on carpets without an expensive turbo head

...Having just had my flat completely de-carperted and real wooden fllors installed, I was on the look-out for a cylinder replacement for my trusty dyson upright.I came across this bagless model from Vax at our local Curry's for the pricley sum of £49.99 on special. It is rated at 2200 watts and comes with the usual assortment of tools, crevice cleaner, fabric attacthment, and soft brush although if you have a pet and rugs you may want to invest in the turbo head which doesn't come supplied with this model. Operation In operation this cleaner is quick and efficient on hard floors but I must admit the investment of a further £21.99 on the turbo brush head makes the rug cleaning a lot easier especially if like me you a dog that casts hairs all year round ( i still love ya MAX ). Being bagless is a boon as i generally have to empty it every day... Read review

Review of Land Rover Defender 90  by  cabletow

Advantages: rugged
Disadvantages: foibles

...Yes that is how the advertising slogan goes and I am a veteran Landrover buyer and I still beleive that it is true. True the 90 has its foibles but as they all say this gives it a little character. It is rugged tough and yet sprightly, The Lawrence Dallaglio of motoring. Occaisionally it will let you down in a small way but an unexpected way, I recently went over a quarry and everything went well but two days later whilst reversing in my drive the mirror fell off, c'est la vie in a landrover. It starts first time it never has broken down and after 20 years, on my oldest one, there is still no real rust, a few dents maybe, and a few oil leaks but hey, I never have to paint the garage floor. Well worth the money, but Landrover could improve their after sales servicing a little.... Read review

Best for pet hairs
Review of Miele Cat+dog+ by  Nicols61

Advantages: Durable, Light to carry, strong suction
Disadvantages: None

...thing about this cleaner is that it has incredible suction, you have to turn it down or it will eat all your rugs! There is an indicator light to tell you when the bag is full, but I can tell by the loss of suction. The bags fill very quickly, and they are pricey, but I don't think this should be considered a disadvantage, it is just an indication of how much stuff this little Miele actually sucks out of the carpets, or how much pet hair my lurchers shed. I change the bag about once every two to three weeks depending on the moult! The small round brush attachment is extremely useful, with the power reduced, you can use it to dust hard-to-reach table and chair legs, picture frames, cob-webby walls etc. Our house has a combination of terracotta tiles, wooden floorboards and laminate flooring plus the odd fitted carpet and loads of rugs... Tiny Love Activity Mat
Review of Tiny Love Gymini 3-D Activitiy Gym by  busylizzie76

Advantages: Easy to wash, store and rearrange the toys
Disadvantages: needs a rug underneath for padding

.... The connectors can be combined to make the toys dangle at various levels depending on the "reach" of your baby. The base mat is detachable and can be machine washed if there are any accidents. Downsides..... The mat however is quite thin and if you have hard or wooden floors then you will need to put a rug or blanket underneath for baby's comfort. Summary....... This is a brightly coloured and interesting playmat for baby. My son loves his play mat and will contendly play for up to an hour and he is only 9 weeks old! He will kick and the toys and also try to grab them - they are a good size for tiny hands to practice gripping. But I do have to wash the rug used underneath and if I leave the play mat out my cat thinks that it is a comfy place to sleep!... Read review
