The sissy's guide to camping gear
Review of Camping - General by  DaisyRose

Advantages: Everything you need to be as comfortable as if you'd never left home
Disadvantages: Ah, wilderness!

...into the skillet. Be prepared to either scrub the carbonized black gunk off the bottoms or live with it - camp stoves don't burn clean. I let mine go until I get home and then give them a good scrub with steel wool. A FOLDING CHAIR for each person - absolutely indispensible. Some compressed wax and sawdust FIRE STARTERS. You can buy firewood at most campgrounds, but you usually can’t get kindling, and if you’re in any kind of park, you can’t collect it. A few sticks of this stuff will have your fire going fast. You can usually find them in front of the check-stand at the market, where they keep the bags of dog food and kitty litter. LONG FORKS for toasting marshmallows - again, don’t count on finding twigs on the ground - you probably won’t be the first people to camp there. OVENMITTS for handling hot pans on the stove. A sturdy... Read review

camp america: my bad experince
Review of Camp America by  freekazoid

Advantages: new friends, new country, learn new skills, tan, different culture, active
Disadvantages: home sickness, far away from home, hard work, pressured, tiring, long hours, little pay, challenging

...the children straight off the ground and then put them onto a bed or chair. It is unthinkable in the UK to ever lift a patient straight off the floor onto a bed or chair as this could cause a serious injury. The company who allows you to manual handle incorrectly could be sued if a patient is injured or the employee can sue the company that allowed them to manual handle incorrectly if they have received inadequate training. I am very familiar with the UK manual handling policies as ironically I have just written a 3000 word essay on the legal, moral and ethical implications of incorrectly manual handling patients. I understand that the US must have different policies and procedures but that does not mean that I must abide by them if I feel they are unsafe and incorrect. I was not aware that children were so poorly handled at camp despite the fact... Read review

Safety 1st On-the-Go Fold-up Booster Seat
Review of Safety 1st On-the-Go Fold-Up Booster Seat by  FunkyFaulkner

Advantages: Actually two products in one - fantastic value for money
Disadvantages: Bulkier than some travel booster seats but worth it!

...it up, put it on the chair, attach to the chair with the safety straps, put in child and clip on tray if required. And equally simple to put away - detach tray if used, remove child, detach the safety straps, fold down the back and legs, retract the safety straps and clip on the tray. Once it is all packed up it forms a small suitcase which has a side flap/pocket for bibs, spoons, etc and the tray is moulded in such a way that it provides a handle to carry it. No - it isn't as slim-line as my friends one being 36 cm long by 30 cm wide by 15 cm deep, so I don't take it out when I go shopping but then most public places have high chairs available and if they don't then my daughter just goes in her pram (reluctantly, but hey it's only once in a while). I do, however, take it when on holiday in the UK and when visiting friends and family... Read review

Camping it up
Review of Camping - General by  josarah

Advantages: Quiet, Peaceful, Relaxing
Disadvantages: Insect bites, Scary noises at night

...sunlight from. Also, unless you have a roof box or trailer you should have enough space to store all you stuff in. WHAT SHOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU? Alongside the things mentioned earlier I have found useful: A camping stove and gas; camping table; the most comfortable chairs you can fit in the car; air bed (with fitted sheet, thanks mum); duvet or sleeping bags; clothes and towels; washing up bowl; camping kettle and thermos flask; cool box (with attachment for car power outlet if possible); washing line & pegs; cutlery & plates; monopoly; continuo and tea bags and marmite (if leaving the country). I’m sure you could add or take from this list depending on what you wanted whilst away but I would consider all these things a must have for our camping holidays. WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT? Other than to have a great time you should... Read review

Ikea Antilop - the best high chair on the market
Review of Ikea ANTILOP High Chair by  SYVEG

Advantages: Cheap, easy to clean, good posture for baby
Disadvantages: None except you have to go to Ikea to get it

...under £25 for the whole set. Comparing this to around £100 for one which my friend bought (I believe M&P). 2. It is really easy to clean! The chair is one piece of solid plastic, which wipes clean very easily with a wet cloth/baby wipe. In comparison to those with plastic padding which I find have many nooks and crannies for bits of weetabix to get lost in. The tray is a good squarish shape which is also really easy to wipe with a wet cloth/baby wipe. 3. You can bring the chair right up to the table! I.e. if you don't want to use the tray, the chair comes right up to the table so that your little one can be part of the mealtime, like everyone else. 4. Baby sits upright, instead of slanting backwards! In terms of negatives, the only things which a person might not like about it are: 1. It doesn't fold. However, we... Read review

East Coast High (chair) Living!
Review of East Coast Multi Function High Chair by  Izzy333

Advantages: Easy to Clean, stylish, will grow with your child
Disadvantages: Does not fold away, Tray not easily removed

...If you are looking for a good quality high chair that will not look out of place in your home and will grow with your child then I would suggest that you investigate the East Coast Multi functional Highchair. When choosing my high chair I considered 4 things 1. What will I be using the chair for e.g. Feeds only, playtime, 2. Storage space e.g. Will it be in the way if kept upright? Does it fold away? 3. Can my baby sit comfortably in it? Would padding help, or is a chair with reclining function a better option? 4. Would I like to continue to use the chair after the initial weaning period? For me the East Coast Multi functional Highchair fitted the bill perfectly. The design is very simple and stylish and as our kitchen chairs are wooden it doesn't look out of place in our home. The chair is made from good quality wood so... Read review

Feed me mummy in my comfy chair
Review of Mamas & Papas Prima Pappa High Chair by  Groovee

Advantages: has different heights which means that you can have baby at the right height for you feeding
Disadvantages: Hard to clean, expensive

...After having a wooden high chair which was bulky and not very practical for our Daughter, we decided to invest in a new chair for our Son! After a lot of looking about we were both won over by M&P Prima Pappa! It is available in a range of pram shops, John Lewis, The M&P's Shops and Toys R us! The prices vary around the shops as sometimes they have special offers on. It mostly retails at around £99.99, but when we got ours it was on offer for £89.99! The Prima Papa is a high chair which folds up and can then be stored in a cupboard or like us by the side of the dining room table! It also comes in a 3 position back rest, which enables you to use it from a young age! We used it from around 14 weeks as our little man would get upset whenever we tried to eat dinner without him. The chair in the tilted position meant that he... Read review

The high chair of highchairs
Review of Mamas & Papas Prima Pappa High Chair by  Wendstan

Advantages: Easy to fold, multi position height / backrest
Disadvantages: Height of table

...one and uses the chair, she has arthritis and has no problem in opening and closing it. And it folds to a size that sits out of the way nicely. The only real dowside is that at the moment the tray is a little hight but to be honest I just keep it off for now. The harness is very good but my recommendation to M&P would be to put a strap holder on the side so you're not moving it out of the way all the time. Two of my friends have also bought the chair and rave about it as much as I do! Hope this helps... Read review

Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair
Review of Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair by  bessoby

Advantages: fits onto a chair, portable, padded , great from birth
Disadvantages: none

...This is such a fantastic chair! It fits on your existing chairs but can be moved easily too, ie going to other people's houses etc. My little boy even had a space at a wedding table thanks to this chair! It's suitable for birth onwards as it reclines back well so it is a safe place to keep the baby while in the kitchen. It can tuck well into the table with the tray off so that your little one can be part if it all. It is comfy, supportive, cheap compared to others and has no awful huge legs sticking out!!! When the baby has finished, the arms tilt enough to tuck it into the table. It then converts to a booster seat for toddlers. This chair is fab! Hard to find where it's sold but worth looking for it. The best baby product we've bought and now being used by baby number 2! Please note that I've put satisfactory for storage... Read review

High praise for this high chair
Review of Mamas & Papas Prima Pappa High Chair by  BecksterMas

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Quite bulky to take in car

...We bought this high chair as it is very good quality and extremely sturdy. A lot of the parenting magazines have given it very positive reviews and it has won several rewards. The seat has four different positions, perfect as your child develops and also useful should your child get tired or sleepy whilst you are in the middle of a meal. We have also found that it is really useful being able to tip the chair back when youre giving your child medicine- it means its more likely to go down their throat than all over you! It has a lovely padded cover (with a choice of designs)and a moulded seat, adding great comfort. The seat also wipes clean very well. The padded section is also removeable, allowing you to clean underneath where stray food always gathers on any high chair. Th adjustable straps keep your child secure and stop them... Read review
