Footjoy Greenjoys
Review of Footjoy Golf Shoes by
silkyuk9
Advantages: soft and durable
Disadvantages: none
...There is nothing worse than aching feet playing golf, your feet are proberly the most important part of your body to look after. lets face it you are proberly going to walk over 4 miles in a round of golf so good footware is a vital commodity. I have a pair of Footjoy Greenjoys, I chose mine after a reccomendation from a friend, prior to Footjoy's i wore a pair of cheap Donnay, then Dunlop, then a pair of Nike, but after 18 holes my feet ached with each pair.
Footjoy Greenjoys offer a soft upper made from synthetic leather, usually i stay away from synthetic but these are perfect, and don't make my feet sweat like other shoes i have worn. the inner sole moulds to your soles and really are soft, infact i feel i have a spring in my step and my feet are perfectly cushioned. The sole is made from moulded rubber and is equally soft...

Dry Ice and X Dimension
Review of Footjoy Golf Shoes by
V70R
Advantages: Waterproof,Durable,Lightweight
Disadvantages: Large sizes can be hard to obtain. Replacement footbeds unobtainable.
...Dry Ice Size 11XW
Struggled to obtain XW fit but eventualy some were brought in from the States.
Very comfortable shoe. Temperature control worked well. Cool feet in Arizona in 108F and warm feet in UK winter.
Shoes in very good condition after two years but need new footbeds(in soles) tried to get hold of these from Footjoy but they are unable to supply them. Not really good enough for a £130 shoe.
X Dimension Size11W
Could not get size in FJ Gel Fusion shoes. Footjoy not very helpful with this despite numerous e mails to them. Stockist do not seem to stock larger sizes. saw some X dimensions going for £65 in 11 W , to my surprise they fit well.(FJ shoes vary a lot in their sizing due to different lasts used so make sure you try on the shoe you want before u buy mail order.)Very good light shoe. Waterproof. Very good quality...

Really comfortable and pragmatic
Review of Footjoy Aqualite by
alimason
Advantages: dry, comfy, good grip
Disadvantages: not very stylish
...I updated my footjoys to these about a year ago and i have been very pleased since. They have kept my feet dry in all conditions, even when the water has been lapping at my laces. They are also extremely comfortable and when playing it seems as though you only have your socks on. However the amazing grip they provide ensures you that you have actually remembered to put your shoes on. After one year my shoes seem to have withstood the elements fairly well and apart from a couple of scuffs they do not have any damage or wear and tear whatsoever. However for all their advantages the shoes are no different to my previous pair and in fact i prefered the style of previous pair as i think these are rather 'plastic' in appearance. Therefore if your current shoes are comfortable, not damaged and stylish i would hold on to them...

There's Nothing Worse Than Cold Wet Feet
Review of Footjoy Golf Shoes by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Keep your wee tootsies warm, dry and comfortable
Disadvantages: Expensive (but you get what you pay for!)
...better than those manufactured by Footjoy.
They’re stylish and comfortable, and best of all, you get a one-year guarantee that they will retain their waterproof qualities.
And they come in all sizes and colours, from plain black or white, to the fancy ‘two-tone’ type if you are a dedicated follower of fashion. (that was an old ‘Kinks’ song, wasn’t it?)
The shoes that I’m using at the moment are from their ‘Dryjoys’ range, which for the past decade and more have been the top-selling golf shoe on both the European and US market, with over 70% of golfers wearing them. And not just amateur golfers. A survey conducted at the British Open last year showed conclusively that they are also the golf shoes of choice of most of the professionals. (With the notable exception of Tiger Woods, who gets...

Get A Grip!
Review of Adidas Tour Traxion Golf Shoe by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Comfortable, waterproof, stylish, good grip.
Disadvantages: Make sure you break them in properly before you hit the golf course!
...I wasn't over enamoured! The runner-up spot in a team competition last summer at my golf club won me a new pair of golf shoes. Problem was, they weren't the Footjoy brand that I normally wear and which have served me well down through the years, but a pair of white Adidas shoes with black stripes which for all the world looked like a pair of my teenage daughter's trainers.
I was even less enamoured when I discovered that they hadn't been purchased in the club professional's shop, which meant I couldn't exchange them for something else. Not that they were a bad looking pair of shoes mind you. Called the "Adidas Tour Traxion" they are a slightly less expensive version of Adidas's best selling golf shoe, the "Tour 360", which is worn by many of the top tour professionals.
Anyways, as my old pair of Footjoy Dryjoys were becoming slightly...

A joy to walk in
Review of Adidas Golf Shoes by
kimborob
Advantages: comfort and durability
Disadvantages: none
...Having tried several different shoes over the years, my last 3 pairs have been Adidas and I would not buy anything else. When you are walking several miles during a game of golf, shoes, next to golf clubs of course, have to be the most important outlay. It is important that you chose a correct fit and that the shoes are comfortable and functional.
Adidas, who are of course famous for making training shoes have a wealth of experience, about 75 years I think, and seem to have used it wisely in the design of their golf shoes range.
They offer several different types of golf shoe from the more traditional style to a training type shoe which seem to be becomming very popular amongst professionals.
Uli Robbecke, the Eurpoean Product Manager of Adidas Golf says " The golf shoe design is more and more influenced by sport shoe design...

Clima Cool is great for the nice weather
Review of Adidas Clima Cool Ladies by
yilshane
Advantages: Climacool great in the summer
Disadvantages: Wet feet in the rain !
...I am an avid golf fan and I recently purchsed a pair of these climacool ladies golf shoes. I purchased them because I own a pair of climacool trainners and thought that they would be just like wearing trainners. Let me tell you that they are not. I bought them from Ebay at £13.00 with £5.00p&p, which at the time I felt that they were a bargin as all other golf shoes that I had taken a look at were starting from £25.99 going right up to £60.00 and £70.00.
The shoes themselfs took me four games of 18 holes to break them in, which was very very uncomfortable for my feet, and they are nothing when compared with the climacool trainners.
The climacool material itself is fine when playing in the nice weather, but if its been rainning or if the greens are being wartered down then you need to take an extra pair of socks with you...

Stylo a manufacurer of quality ladies golf gear
Review of Stylo Golf Shoes by
jprwilliam
Advantages: Good quality clothes at competative prices
Disadvantages: Use tried and tested designs not fashion leader.
...I have been looking for practical, reasonably priced every day golf wear ever since being spoilt by my visit to New York in November 2002.
On a visit to Norwich I found a lovely selection of Stylo golf clothes for ladies. I was tempted to purchase a pink & a black polo neck jumper and a pink bodywarmer. The polo necks were £14 and the bodywarmer £25.
Today 23.09.03 they had their first outing in our ladies day. The clothes looked smart and fitted like a glove.
I look for winter clothes to be light, easy to move in, easy to wash and dry but above all to keep you warm while allowing your skin to breath. These clothes appear to meet all these criteria and I will have to wait to see if they meet the test of time.
The polo necks are made from 100% cotton and the bodywarmer 100% polyester unfortunately non of the labels inform you of where...

For Golf Nuts Everywhere
Review of Golf World by
the_mad_cabbie
Advantages: Superbly edited and written. Full of interesting features.
Disadvantages: Blasted throw away adverts.
...is published on a monthly basis.
The publishers are a company called ‘Emap Magazines’ who are based in Peterborough in England, and the editor is a self-confessed golf nut called David Clarke.
~ ~ Golf World includes everything in its 160 to 200 glossy pages that a suffering golf addict could possibly need to assuage the twitches and withdrawal pangs they suffer when they are removed from their natural environment of the golf links.
It contains reviews of all the latest equipment, whether it be balls, bags, shoes or clubs, and gives you price guidelines so you can see whether or not they are within your budget. This month there’s a very interesting piece that warns players about new rules that have been introduced by the Royal and Ancient (golf’s ruling body) which will see many of today’s high technology drivers being outlawed on New Year’s Day...
