...Out shopping for a new external hard drive the Seagate FreeAgent Desktop caught my eye. It looked appealing with a massive 500GBs and 5 year limited warrenty as standard. I thought it was great value for money. The dimensions are (WxDxH) 4 cm x 16.2 cm x 19 cm and it is 0.9kg in weight. This product is black in colour with a yellow strip of light which is constantly on, though it isn't too bright so i had no problems there. It's Interface Type is Hi-Speed USB and has a Data Transfer Rate of 480 Mbps. Also has a Spindle Speed of 7200 rpm. ...I ordered this because I needed a desktop to replace my old. I got this desktop with a free upgrade to a 19'' TFT LCD widescreen monitor. Watching movies and viewing pictures on the 19'' monitor is a paradise. The power button lits up in blue with cool soft blue hues flooding the sides of the desktop. I like that. I got the order a week after I placed the order online. Dell was kind enough to call me to confirm the shipment of the item. The setup was easy as the cables were color-coded. It comes with 10 USB ports (4 in front and 4 behind). There is 2 USB ports inside as well. It is useful to me as I have tons of USB devices. The keyboard and mouse are average looking but with good quality. I also added a 2.1 speaker system which is the Dell A525 to the order for GBP10. The speakers are great!!! ...The wireless desktop is just about the most used item on a computer. Without one I couldn't type this review. The Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 is a very good example of simplicity. No complicated buttons on the keyboard, a mouse without a mass of buttons where every button goes. Just the simple, basics. The combination works very well, the keyboard is nice to use. Very easy to use for a long period of time too. The mouse is no different, very responsive and easy to use. Just a left click, right click and a scroll ball. Nothing more, nothing less. Isn't it just genious? The mouse is very good on batteries and you won't find yourself having to by a million batteries all the time. The set is very asthetically pleasing in black, it won't stand out in your home or workplace. This combination is a very cost efficient desktop... Read review

...My intention, when I bought this card, was to install it in my desktop, PC to allow me to access the internet, the desktop PC’s cheap storage and printing facilities in my home office all from the comfort of my living room. My first hurdle was to get FreeBSD to recognise this card – and a quick web search revealed that I needed only enable the "ath" and "athhal" devices. I expect the card is also recognised under Windows/Linux – but I’ve not had reason to try those OS. In no time at all I had a working device and was able to establish communication between my XP laptop and BSD desktop. The first disappointment was the speed of the connection – I only achieved around 36Mbps when desktop and laptop were next to each other on my desk. ...easy to have the drive run from a different PC if I wanted to. The offer with DABS was actually very good, in that the cost of the drive was going to be less than that for an internal 500GB SATAII drive, bargain ! I placed the order ( and I have to say, was very happy with the ordering / delivery process ) and I received the drive within 2 days. Once received, you can see that the product is very well packaged ( which is something I am very keen on, it shows that the product will be well protected during transport - not very good for us Eco-Friendly people, but the majority of packaging was cardboard containers, so its all recyclable - which is a plus ) Once you open up the box, (which also has a security seal on to show whether its been tampered with - which is also good ) you see the following FreeAgent desktop drive USB 2.0 cable... ...I have to agree with a few of the other reviews. The computers Evesham produce are excellent, and having owned one for 9 trouble free years (except keyboard/mouse and speaker problems which were all rectified by Evesham immediately) I was going straight to them for my next machines. I bought a basic laptop, no problems with that. However when it came to the desktop it was a different matter. 8 attempts to get my order right, then 3 weeks without hearing anything, then a lot of telephone calls, one with a rude sales supervisor (who incidently was 100% wrong), to then have my computer turn up with no monitor and a scratch down the coolermaster case! I tried to call the sales agent to find out what was going on only yo be transfered directly to customer services because I now had my computer and it was after sales service. However... Read review

...This hard drive is VERY GOOD LOOKING, shiny black with yellow trim lines, a stable support platform and small to boot. I needed another external harddrive as my desktops space was almost gone from storing far too many games as you can imagine! I had the dreaded 'low on disk space' warning on my computer for a good while before i found a hard drive that i liked that offered my requirements in a stylish little black box. I already have two Western Digital hard drives and so decided to test out a product from a good rival, Seagate. It has exceeded my expectations and will go onto my list of good manufacturers.
