It's no Goldeneye.....
Review of 007 in Agent Under Fire (PS2) by
cribby
Advantages: Great graphics and sound
Disadvantages: Nowhere near as good as Goldeneye....
...'t expect anything less from a console with twice the muscle as the N64 now would you?
The main problem with the game is the mission structure. In Goldeneye you get to complete each level on Agent, Secret Agent and 00 Agent difficulties with more objectives being added each time. In Agent Under Fire the objectives stay the same but you just get more points for completing the missions on the more difficult levels. Rather poor to say the least.
So in short.... if you have no previous Bond gaming experience then you may find Agent Under Fire rather enjoyable and the Bond theme novelty will probably take a little longer to wear off. However, if you're a hardened Goldeneye Pro looking for more on the PS2, you will be sorely disappointed. But hey, if you don't want to take my word for it, shell out the £44.99 and see for yourself! :p...

Professional Use
Review of Canon PowerShot Pro70 by
Jasonrow
Advantages: Range of features, SLR styling
Disadvantages: Resolution, Price
...I use the Powershot Pro 70 in a professional capacity as an interior photographer for an estate agents. In terms of ease of use and facilties it is right up there with the best. However its resolution is getting a bit limited in these days of 4 megapixel cameras. Most of the inmages we use it for are web based only for which it is a very capable camera. We also print some of the images in a glossy magazine but only at sizes of around 3x2 inches. At this size it is indistinguishable to the medium format film cameras but increase the image size and the limitations begin to show. This camera would be an ideal first digital camera for a good amateur but at an increasingly uncompetitive price. If you are looking for a digital camera that behaves like an SLR then this would be the only camera this side of a Nikon D1 but if you are looking...

Arcsoft Panorama Maker 4
Review of Arcsoft Panorama Maker by
Sidthemanager
Advantages: Easy to use, Affordable, High picture quality
Disadvantages: None identified
...and 4 pro on the two PC's in my studio. RAW is supported for PC and will shortly also be covered for MAC's as a free upgrade in the near future.
Another real saving for me has been whilst upgrading my film archive to digital images. I use a Hasselblad X-Pan for the large congregation shots at weddings but digital scans are restrictively expensive for this format. Using a standard 35mm negative scanner however, I can scan one end of the elongated film strip and then the other with about a 50%25 overlap in the middle and stitch them seamlessly together using Panorama Maker and saving me about £10 per image (and a trip to the lab to do it).
The software creates vertical or horizontal panoramas and will easily create a whole 360 degree stitch which is great for use online (virtual tours of houses) use by estate agents or on the hotel...

Pro Evo Soccer, fires past Fifa to victory
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 3 (PS2) by
Bobbydave
Advantages: The most up to date graphics, and stunning gameplay
Disadvantages: Poor commentry
...on the game are very good with exceptional grahical details of the grounds. The gameplay is by far the best i have ever experienced on a sports game to date, with the controls being very user friendly.
Even minor detail has been included in the game such as trade mark free kicks such as roberto carlos's free kick in that he does his little 'fred flintstone' run.
However i do consider there to be one down side to the game, this being the commentry. Basically all i can say on this matter is that its awful, and i do have to say fifa does beat pro in this area, but then again ur not there to listen to the comentry, your there to bang in the goals!
All together i have to suggest pro evolution soccer 3 is a superb game and is a must for all football fans out there.

Reading for nerds - excellent!
Review of Nuvomedia - Rocket eBook Pro by
assethound
Advantages: Brilliant, a portable library!
Disadvantages: You need a PC or a Mac to download content
...I bought a Rocker eBook Pro for my partners birthday a few months ago. I first learned about this item whilst surfing the net. It is a hand held electronic reader, and on the Pro version, you can store about 40 books. Better than that, any book you buy (or get free, and there are a lot of those available) is stored by Nuvomedia, and you can reload it onto your Rocket using Rocket Librarian software (free). This is a great product. It is about the size of a chunky paperback, and weighs about 2lb. Cost was $199 from Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com) and unfortunately you can't get them in Britain yet. It has a screen about 3" x 5" which is backlit, so you can read on it anywhere, and in any lighting conditions....

Pro Evo 4- Miles better than Fifa
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Xbox) by
craig6148
Advantages: The best football game around. Quality gameplay
Disadvantages: Like previous editions. The players anmes arent real, nor are the team names
...Pro Evo 4 continues to impress from earlier versions of the game. The quality graphics or individual players along with the realisitic game play make this the number 1 football game on the market. Its very realistic in the factt hat the referee can make wrong decisions, and random goals, such as deflections can wrong foot the goaliy resulting in defelcted goals!
Free Kicks are much harder to score than Pro Evo 3, which is a good thing.
The biggest disadvanatages about the game are the 'play on' role has not quite been perfected by Konami and can sometimes be pointless. Secondly like all other Pro Evos, because its not official, the player names are not all correct and as is the team names. Example- Liverpool are Merseyside Red!
The master league is good because you can build your own cusotmised team, but unlike Fifa you cant play...

Music sounds better with Koss Pro
Review of Koss Porta Pro by
zzooiiaa
Advantages: many- sound, comfort, looks, durability
Disadvantages: can`t think of any
...Some interesting facts: the Koss Portario headphones were first introduced in 1984. Over the years the company preserved their original design but improved their performance.
I have been using the koss products for years now, mainly buying it from koss.com as sometimes it is difficult to find them in the shops. Once I got a pair of headphones on ebay but was disappointed as it said that they were brand new but they obviously weren`t.
The porta pro head phones deliver exceptionally deep bass and wide frequency response from 15 - 20,000 Hz. The main advantage is that most elements are constructed from mylar which minimizes the distortion of the sound. Neodymium iron baron rare earth magnet structures enable the Porta Pro to deliver greater volume.Oxygen free copper voice coils improve signal transmission. (all the technical data has...

Pro evolution soccer 4
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Xbox) by
mattsant10
Advantages: spansish, italien and dutch leagues all licended
Disadvantages: some players and teams have unofficial names
...pro evoultion soccer 4 is the best football game on the ps2 and xbox!
The realism is fantastic, the gameplay and other features make it the best game on ps2,
In the new version of pes there have been many new features inluding the spanish, italien and dutch leagues fully licensed, all improved master league mode, new edit mode in which you can change and make your own club badges.
The gameplay of the game is amazing as you can do loads of new tricks, tackles and shots to make the gameplay even more realistic.
The new freekick system is quality you are lining up for a free kick in the last minute and you are real madrid do you go for the beckham style free kick or the carlos rocket free kick!
The downside to the pro evo series is the unofficial names of teams and players so you could be editing the whole game before you play it...

What you should know before using Bridgfords
Review of Bridgfords by
rdobbie
Advantages: Great advertising coverage, benefits of a large nationwide parent company, good fortnightly newsletter
Disadvantages: Very expensive fees, pushy sales negotiatiors, more interested in selling you financial products
...Through my recent traumas of moving house I have had experience with Bridgfords from the perspective of both buyer and seller.
If you're planning to sell your property, then I hope my opinion on Bridgfords will give some useful pro's and con's when choosing an estate agent. If you're buying then obviously you don't have any choice in who is marketing the home that you plan to buy, but this op still contains some important tips on what the buyer should look out for when dealing with Bridgfords.
Bridgfords has 49 branches in the North West of England and is owned by the Countrywide Estate Agents Group which is the country's largest chain of estate agents. (Countrywide are perhaps better known for their owning Bairstow Eves which covers much of Britain). My experiences relate to only three Bridgfords branches, so there will obviously...

The best I've seen
Review of Jasc PaintShop Pro 6 by
yagasat
Advantages: Tons and Tons of tools and effects
Disadvantages: Not as big as some of the professional software around
...I love this program. It is so easy to use and it used to be free... sort of. Paint Shop Pro is usually available as Shareware via magazine cover discs etc. It had a time limit of 30 days and after that it still functioned but you were 'suppose' to delete it. Which of course everyone did. The latest version Paint Shop Pro 6, does have a time limiter which disables it after 60 days.
So, I bought the rea thing and have not regretted it for a moment. It is by far one of the easiest graphics programs I have used. It allows you to do a huge number of things from touching up photos to creating bizarre effects. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Get it!...
