Freecom 1TB External Hard Drive
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 1 TB by
marshmike
Advantages: Simple Setup, great value for money
Disadvantages: Win 2000/XP/Vista only - not for Win 98/ME
...I have previously purchased a Freecom 500 GB external drive drive and have been very happy with it's performance and reliability. So when the drive started to become 80% full it was time to look for some additional storage. I saw the new Freecom 1TB drive on Amazon and given my previous good experiences purchased one straight away. It arrived this morning (Tuesday) having ordered in the previous Friday, and all of this post free.
For anyone that hasn't bought a Freecom external hard drive before, you get a very stylish drive unit, power adapter, leads and installation disk. Installing (in my case) took less than 5 minutes, most of the time was spent unpacking the pieces.
Simply attached the usb lead, power pack and switched on. Instantly recognised by the Windows XP operating system as the next drive letter.
The unit is virtually...

EXTEND YOUR MEMORY CAPACITY.
Review of Freecom Classic Mobile 2.5" Hard Drive USB-2 120 GB by
apatra
Advantages: GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND PORTABLE.
Disadvantages: NOT THAT KNOWN.
...that a computer system has. Some old systems has USB1 while most modern computers has USB2 which is faster in response. You are also advised to check the USB speed with the freecom drive.
There is some way in which you can know on whether the system has USB 2 and the way is through the windows control panel.
So this is the only part that you might get a bit troubled as a new user but should not be a dilemma to you.
In terms of selling places, I bought mine at Amazon .uk at a good value for money. In terms of price, I bought mine at the price of £49.86, and that is of good value for money.
I hope you found my review quite helpful. So won't expect any problem from using it.
And on the over all view about the freecom classic storage device, it is very easy to install and use.
Bye....

Portable storage with no limits.
Review of Freecom Classic Mobile 2.5" Hard Drive USB-2 120 GB by
Mr_Gamgee
Advantages: Small, easy to use, upgradable, decently priced
Disadvantages: Check - You may need 2 USB ports
...thing to be aware of is the different types of USB that exist. Older computers may have USB 1, whereas newer computers may have USB 2.
USB 2 is forty times faster than USB 1. You will notice the speed difference between the two when using something such as the Freecom drive! So you will know then what type of USB your computer has.
You can check this yourself however, in Windows through Control Panel / System icon / Hardware tab / Device Manager button / then scroll down to 'universal serial bus controllers' and expand the list by clicking the adjacent plus symbol.
If there is an ENHANCED USB host controller in the list you have USB 2.
----- Inside the Freecom (for advanced users) -----
The Freecom device is little more than an enclosure for a laptop hard drive.
The black case has 4 regular screws which when undone reveal how simple...

A Stylish Hard Drive...Really?
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 160 GB by
lil_deano_lil
Advantages: Plug and Play, Really Fast Doesn't Overheat
Disadvantages: Nothing =D
...Freecom External 3.5" 160GB Hard Drive
I first got the Freecom external hard 160GB hard drive when my internal one on my computer started to get clogged up with applications and other junk. So I decided to go and buy a Freecom external hard drive which is 160 Gigabytes in size.
Since this hard drive is external, it does have to look good and not look like a tack bit of plastic with wires hanging out of it. With Freecom though, performance and design is everything. The hard drive enclosure itself is made of high quality, heat absorbing aluminium which is 20 x 11.5 x 4.5 cm ( or 7.9 x 4.5 x 1.6 inches ) in size. On the front of the hard drive enclosure is a storage LED indicator and on the back there is one ' rocker' power on/off switch, a usb port and a power adapter port. This hard drive has been givin five awards including...

Freecom Classic Trouble Free DVD Burning
Review of Freecom Classic CD-RW drive by
derek-j-a
Advantages: Hard Working and reliable. Can be moved from PC to PC
Disadvantages: Desk space needed because it's external.
...and watch any DVD movie of my choice. {Please note:it works a little slower on USB1}
The Freecom can also burn dual layer DVDs which means that, you can get almost double the amount of movies (i.e. up to 8.5GB) on one Dual Layer disk, but they do tend to cost a little more than the standard DVD disks.
Another thing that is useful regarding this drive, is that using Nero (that was packaged with the drive), I can back up any computer file I wish to DVD and this gives me 4.7GB (that is 4,812.8 megabytes) of storage on a DVD disk in comparison to 700 MB (megabytes) that can be stored on CD-R or RWs. So as you can imagine, I now have fewer worries of losing my files should my hard drive decide to die on me.
I have been amazed at the way the price of the DVD burners have come down in price over the years. When I first became interested in burning...

Mediaplayer 35-Kit
Review of Freecom Technologies Digital multimedia receiver by
salsacolin
Advantages: Small, Silent, Mobile, Cheap
Disadvantages: Still some bugs
...Freecom Mediaplayer 35-Kit
The basic kit comes without a hard drive, this is great as its much cheaper to buy the hard drive you want and install it yourself, this is child's play and the instructions (if you need them) are easy to follow.
I have now had the media player for about three months and originally purchased it for £100 + £84 for a 300GB IDE drive, the price of the player has dropped to less than £85 and I'm sure the hard drives will drop / increase in size in the near future.
In essence this is both a USB hard drive which you can take anywhere with your computer for extended storage (if you have a HDD installed), when connected to a TV it becomes a Media Player capable of playing music, movies or displaying your photos.
Connect it to a network via a standard CAT 5 cable (RJ45) via a hub or into a PC and you can stream all...

Who says the best things come in little packages??
Review of Freecom Hard Drive Hard drive 400 GB by
sriches
Advantages: Supersized storage
Disadvantages: Weighs a tonne
...that but there are options on how to add more storage capacity to this device! I do not know how to do that I am afraid and I do not think I will ever get to know as that is an awful lot of information to put on there!
Connection:
The hard drive connects to your computer via USB like most other hard drives and is plug and play. The only complaint we have so far about the connection is the fact that even at USB 2.0 connection it still feels like it is running at USB 1.1 and seems to take a while to transfer smallish items like pictures and music.
Reliability:
We have never had any problems at all with any of our Freecom drives and when I worked in the industry I would recommed Freecom as in my opinion they are reasonably priced and are very reliable - thus good value for money.
Design:
It is quite a neat aluminium design - it lies flat and is easy to store...

Freecom DataBar 4GB, Great USB stick
Review of Freecom DataBar USB 2.0 - USB flash drive - 4 GB by
andybuck123
Advantages: Fast, Large amount of storage, small sized product, great alround
Disadvantages: no neck strap supplied, minor detail.
...-----| Reason for buying |-----
I bought this as an upgrade from my 1GB stick, as i required more space and a more reliable stick, my old one used to corrupt my files.
The price was also very attractive for its size, £17.99 for a 4GB USB stick was exceptional when I bought it around 4 or 5 months ago.
-----| What I have used it for |-----
I used this throughout my studies at school, it was in constant use, exchagning data to and from it numerous times a day. Each transfer was fast, due to it being USB 2.0, and with no corruptions or file loss.
I have also used it to transport mp3 files, movies, and game files (very large files basically, upwards of 2GB) and it did this perfectly.
-----| Pros |-----
Very large even by todays standards, large enough to transport any media type, and lots of it.
Small but doesnt feel like breathing...

Fantasitc Value Mixer
Review of Behringer XENYX 1202FX by
markylocker
Advantages: Smart FX Processor, Small Size, Looks Great!
Disadvantages: No individual channel monitoring.
....
The other 4 line inputs consist of L/R mono input, and offer controls for the balance, FX level and output level. There is also a CD/Tape input (and output), in the form of a PHONO connection.
--------------------
FX Processor
--------------------
The digital FX Processor is a real bonus, and offers great value in comparison to the price of the standard XENYX 1202 mixer. There are 99 pre-set effects, which fall into the categories of "Reverb", "ER/DEL", "Mod", "Pitch" and "Multi". To select an effect, you simply turn the FX dial which scrolls through the numbers 1-99 on the units LCD display. To set that effect, press the dial and the selection will stop flashing, and start working! Below the FX dial there's an "FX to Main" dial, which allows you to alter the amount of effects being sent to the main mix. You can add the effect to any channel...

freecom dvb-t stick, good kit, bad software
Review of Freecom DVB-T Stick by
kirkyjj
Advantages: greay hardware, easy to set up, very portable.
Disadvantages: software bundled is dier
...This is a product that I have had for about 1/2 a year now and I feel that it is a very good product but can be improved in some ways.
I feel that this TV stick is a great product and turns any computer into a digital TV on minutes. It picks up a range of channels on my households Ariel and I haven’t tried running it on the Ariel provided. It is extremely compact, I use it in my very small room where I have a computer and there is not room for a TV, this is a very good solution, it costs very little at around £30 and provides good television however there are some things that can be improved.
Improvements needed:
The main improvements that I feel need to be made are not to do with the product itself but with the software bundled with this item. I feel that this has too many limitations, it is great for watching TV itself...
