Even though the film is much lighter than expected, it basically remains a thriller and although there are a couple of wholes in the plot, it still has enough oomph about it to keep you engrossed as you try and work out what is going on. Probably the key to the enjoyment of FX2 lies in the hands of Bryan Brown as he reprises his role of Rollie Tyler. Although the character has moved on since the original outing, and is now accompanied by a partner and her child, he still remains an individual and engrossing character. Advantages: Fantastic finale to a revitalising western trilogy

The DVD has some great additional features which is a bonus for any DVD and I think it gives a better insight for anyone into how the film industry and especially westerns has changed over the years. The features for this DVD are really extensive and give you loads of information on the film, the director and just general behind the scenes work. ...ISP. We decided to go with LineOne simply because a friend of ours had gone with them and had been trouble-free (Debrini here on Ciao). It’s too boring to go into details, but we did experience a great deal of hair-pulling problems. We incurred a large bill, too, as we had to break down in the end and call their Helpline (at 50p a minute!) LineOne offer a range of free gifts for new subscribers, but they’re not exactly exciting. They are: Oxford Interactive Encyclopaedia (not a patch on Encarta and frequently available free on computer magazines) Rollcage (driving game) DO 3D (3D design package) Photo FX2 (photo editing package) Dr Hilary Jones’ Doctor in the House (very basic medical guide) They also give a £5 Amazon voucher, which I thought was much more useful than the free CD. Advantages: Nice ideas, OK storyline

...to the graveyard and fight a monster spawned from it. The more malice you have accumulated the stronger the monster is. This does mean that occasionally you will avoid random battles you could easily win to avoid being drawn into the graveyard for a much harder fight when you are low on healing items. However, since it is fairly easy to keep malice low, it is more of an annoyance than a game factor. Characters grow stronger by gaining experience from defeating enemies, and using special items. Some side quests will also improve characters’ strength or equipment. There are quests to get the most powerful weapons for each character, but once you’ve got them you can keep them and use them repeatedly, making fights depressingly easy. Graphically the game is best described as patchy. While the FMV is good it is overshadowed by newer games like FX-2... Read review

...ago. Despite being nearly a decade old the game somehow manages to look fresh and vibrant, not seeming to age a bit. Instead of going down a more realistic route that Rare provide with Donkey Kong Country, Miyamoto decided to make Yoshi’s Island almost child-like in presentation. Soft pastel shades are all around and backgrounds seemed to be coloured in like in crayon drawings. However underneath all of its simple looking charm actually hides some complex graphic tricks in terms of SNES and GBA capabilities. The FX2 chip does most of the work, allowing sprites to be rotated, stretched and squished in ways that look simple enough that they blend in with the game superbly. Rocks can be pushed, bosses enlarged to towering proportions and squishy platforms ready to be pounded upon. Parallax scrolling is also used in many of the levels... Read review
