Japanese Garden
Review of Jurong (Singapore) by
dipstick
Advantages: nice and soothing to visit
Disadvantages: too many people at weekends
...The Japanese garden is located in Jurong as well, next to its neighbour the Chinese garden. Many people prefer the japanese garden to the chinese garden because it looks nicer and the area is usually better suited for walks. Like the chinese garden, there are often people coming here for their wedding photos and for picnics in the early evening. Just have to put up with the mosquitoes during the rainy season!!! Bus route 66 also plies this area, I think, but to be safe and sure, one should always have a copy of the bus guide handy. It's available for sale in most shops for only one singapore dollar. Make sure not to forget the camera, the umbrella, and the insect repellent.......

The Centre of All Activity
Review of Covent Garden, London by
yingli.lim
Advantages: lots to see and do.
Disadvantages: can get quite expensive if you want to shop and eat well.
.... Walk through side stalls and take your pick of merchandise from fashion to souvenirs. Food is not a problem at all. Pontis near the Covent Garden tube station sells great snacks, and has excellent chocolate chip cookies. Also, cool places to chill out whether for an afternoon cuppa or wild night out include places like Henry's and The Gardening Club.
Don't forget to bring your umbrella though - the weather in London is just petulant!...

No rain for this Umbrella
Review of Schefflera actinophylla (Umbrella tree) by
paisleyman
Advantages: Huge Plant-Catches the eye
Disadvantages: Can Grow too tall
...About a year ago, in the summer, I went to Skegness. I used to go regularly when I was a coach driver, but now it's just for my own pleasure. (Takes me back to happier times).
Anyway, on the way home I stopped at a large farm shop/ cafe on the A17, the same one I always stopped at in my coach years before. They have a large cafeteria and a plant and flower shop as well as selling vegetables and other farm produce.
After I had some refreshment I wandered into the garden shop and saw some rather interesting plants. Indoor and outdoor varieties and so I thought I might treat myself to one or two.
It ended up being one, I spotted this little plant about five or six inches tall. Very dark green leaves in little groups sticking out all round. The label said it was Schefflera actinophylla and its common name was the Umbrella tree...

KILLER PLANTS IN YOUR GARDEN
Review of Castor oil Plant by
COOOEEE
Advantages: Medicinal benefits from the oil
Disadvantages: The seed pods can kill
...already dig it up. If you suspect someone has been poisoned then seek medical help taking along a sample of the plant to the hospital. Same with animals, you must seek assistance.
The seed coat is the part of the plant which is most lethal and was once used by the KGB to dispose of their enemies.
Most Garden Centres should point out the hazards and ensure you understand them before proceeding to sell you this plant
♣ THE CASTOR OIL PLANT
The Latin name is Ricinus communis and comes from the family of Euphorbiaceae
This short, fat shrub-like plant has reddish/purplish stems that can reach up to 12 feet in height. It is a very fast growing perennial and is native to Indiana
The plant is very hardy and grows very well in the South West of England. The very large leaves are umbrella shaped and have finger shaped ends to them Reddish...

Rollercoaster Tycoon - Need For Speed!
Review of Rollercoaster Tycoon (PC) by
Terri1954
Advantages: A classic game, good variety, lots to hold your interest.
Disadvantages: None
...A brilliant game, well thought out, good graphics, good sound effects, and lots of variety. Build the theme park of your dreams. Fill it with rollercoasters of your own design, simple or intricate, then sit back, take the money, and listen to the screams, as your guests hurtle round and round, and up and down, looping the loop, underground, through tunnels, over water, in and out of trees - it's up to you. An entertaining game, excellent quality. You'll get many many hours of enjoyment out of this one. Entice the crowds into your park with the huge variety of rides, food stalls, souvenir shops, balloon stalls etc. Not forgetting beautiful landscaped gardens, and interesting scenery and statues. This game has it all. Most of the rides can be painted in the colours you choose, and you can even change to colours of the hats, balloons...

What an experience!!
Review of The Getty Center by
heeheehaahaa
Advantages: Modern Architecture & Spectacular View
Disadvantages: Traffic Jam
...This is a great place to visit. I used to work there, so my experience will be quite different than others.
The admission is free. Parking is $5. If you are enroll in the workshop, there is no charge for parking. It has several pavilions showing a variety of antique and modern artworks. It is a very well-equipped museum. It is good to plan a day's trip there. The guide books are in many different languages.
It takes around 40 minutes to reach my working station from the entrance. It includes parking in the museum, taking the train, checking-in with the security and walking through a long tunnel to get to my spot.
There is a special parking space reserved for helicopter.
Automatic high-tech mountain train.
Wonderful docents. They will have the umbrellas ready to greet you by the moment you stepped out of the train at the top...

A Garden Centre and lots more
Review of Heighley Gate Garden Centre, Northumberland by
Procumbens
Advantages: Largest garden centre in the area. Good range of products. Plenty to occupy people who wish to spend some time here. Meals or snacks available
Disadvantages: With the new epansion there is a lot of walking between departments now. Lots mor people going now and I have found car parking very busy even though there are more spaces
...Heighley Gate have just opened a massive Phase 1 of their extension to the existing site. There are a lot more products and because they have more buildings available for indoor housing it means there are more departments.
The Garden Centre is situated on the A697 Wooler to Coldstream road North of Morpeth and opening hours are :- 9a.m. - 5.30 p.m. Mon - Fri. in Summer closing at 5p.m. in Winter.
Saturday and Bank Holidays - 9a.m. - 5p.m.
Sundays. 10.30 a.m. - 4.30 a.m.
The main indoor area is accessible from a large car park and houses a gift shop where all sorts of items can be bought even down to pans and china. Ther are a large variety of house plants and all of the garden fertilisers, chemicals etc as well as pots and tubs.
All sorts of garden tools are available and a very good selection of seeds and bulbs .
I was very impressed...

You will win
Review of competitions-online.co.uk by
Grimsbygal
Advantages: you will win eventually
Disadvantages: takes time
...I use competitions-online all the time and enter as many competitions as I can. I find this competition site to be one of the best as it lists most of the competitions available on the web. It is a very easy site to use working through links and dates. I mainly just use the closing soon feature and enter all the competitions, which are closing within the next few days.
This site does enable you to access all the competitions offering prizes in certain areas. They have the following sections available: Art, Automobiles, Books, Cash, Fashion, Computers, Electrical, Entertainment, Film and TV, Food, Games, Health and Beauty, Holidays, Home and Garden, Kids and Toys, Miscellaneous, Music, Shopping, Sport and tiebreakers.
I wouldn’t say the site is attractive; in fact it is quite the opposite in pink and blue.

Andrianas Apartments, St George South, Corfu.
Review of Corfu (Greece) by
dorat84
Advantages: Clean, comfortable, quiet, relaxing.
Disadvantages: Not for people who want lots of nightclubs.
...St George South, Corfu.
On 6th July 2007 I went with my husband & 18yr old daughter to St George South for 2 weeks [prob our last family holiday.] We stayed at the
Andriana apartments which were very clean & comfortable, set in beautiful gardens. Andriana & her husband are very friendly & will do all they can to make your stay pleasant & comfortable. There isn't a swimming pool but we found a super one we could use in a hotel just round the corner.
The beach is lovely with reasonably priced sunbeds & umbrellas. The sea was gently shelving & calm, very suitable for children.
In the village a short walk from the apartments are well stocked supermarkets & a few souvenir shops. There are plenty of excellent restaurants ,all very friendly. You could eat at a different one every night for 2 weeks!
We found a lovely bar overlooking...
