He drops his jaw and his radio set in one movement as lightning silhouettes a gargantuan figure in the water. The next moment his boat lurches into the figure breaking up like driftwood and Marv is tossed into the inky sea…. ~~Heart surgery is a complex procedure~~ I’m not a big fan of book adaptations into movies especially when they mess around with a book which was as significant to me as the Iron Giant was, that said I can’t recall a great deal about the book itself, just the opening scenes. The filmmakers inevitably mess around with the plot, squeeze in a bit of non-existent love interest and give it and action ending. They also commit the almost unforgivable sin of uprooting it all and sticking it in heartland America... Read review

...Before start gabbling on, I can't believe this is the first ever opinion on this film, whats wrong with you guys!? This film is one of the finest Disney films around and no-one has ever written on it......!? I watched this film on TV the other day and almost instantly decided to write an opinion on it, it's only on here now though since I got carried away with a Dr Dolittle opinion instead! ...It seems odd to have Doshin the Giant cross the shores from Japan over here in Europe. It has the look and feel of a Japanese-only game but Nintendo seem to be pushing their quirkier games into different territories. We get Doshin the Giant and the people in the US get Animal Leader, both of which were expected to debut only in Japan. Doshin was in development for the N64DD, an add-on that never materialised, and so was ported over to the GameCube. In the game you take role of the said giant who, as legend says, rises from the sea at sunrise each day to help the villagers of a nearby island go about their daily business. Doshin is a jolly old giant, looking like a big, stretched out Lego person, his yellow complexion is certainly eye catching as is the mysteriously placed ‘outie’ bellybutton (and this being a Nintendo game... ...UPDATED 10/01/01 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I bought the Iron Giant on DVD since at that time it was really well promoted and pretty cheap. I was pretty suprised with what I actually got when I watched it. It was one of the best animation movie I've ever remembered watching! I was really suprised that the movie itself didn't make it big on the box-office! But, I guess Warner Bros realised that they made a huge mistake for not making enough promotion about the movie on the cinema, so they make that up with a brilliant DVD. The Iron Giant basically tells a story of a friendship between a boy, Hogarth Hughes (voiced brilliantly by the young Eli Marienthal) and a giant robot from outer space(Vin Diesel excells himself as the Iron Giant!) in the cold war era of 1957. ...Shawn Michaels WWE ring giant wrestler figure review Shawn Micheals The Heartbreak Kid still has it all at this day and age, he is stil at the top of his game.HBK has been popular with selling merchandise for the WWE especially as part of DX.WWE could have sold a Triple H/Michaels Ring giant combination together but they havent and we have the heartbreak kid on his own. The Look The Hbk figure has been designed well but not as quite as well as the other ring giant figures out there.Michaels has got his hair tied back in the figure and not all out.Shawn Michaels is doing a odd pose with his hand one of which you would see the Great Khali do.He is sporting his black attire and has wristbands on his arms.Overall if you look at the face you can tell not much time has been spent on it,its a decent figure but the not best one out... ...The "Iron Giant" is a wonderfully told story about a boy who finds agiant metal robot who eats metal.The tale takes place in a New England town during the "Red Scare" of the late 1950's. The boy befriends the giant ironman after saving it from being electrocuted (it tried eating the town's powerstation). The giant's intentions are peaceful but the boy keeps the giant away from the townspeople because he fears they will think that it's a secret weapon from Russia. The director, Brad Bird, has created a film that captures the paranoia that was sweeping our country at that time.The giant is a loveable misfit who cannot understand human nature. The boy, Hogarth, develops a touching relationship with the giant as it tries to discover why it came to earth.The movie is a joy to watch and is a future classic. It makes for excellent family...
