totally ninety
Review of Nike Total 90 T.F. by Nadeboll61

Advantages: Comfy, stylish, soft leather
Disadvantages: none

...I bought these football boots (or rather my da bought them for me) when i went for my first training session with Shrewsbury about 2 years ago (2002). As i was a goalkeeper i never really looked at boots too much and tended to keep my eye on the newest gloves out (tip i dont think much of adidas fingersave goalkeeper gloves). I got home from school and he said he had a present in my room for me. I went upstairs and there they were along with a pair of new goalkeeper gloves and a new state of the art goalkeeper top (i know most of you wont think that tops can become state of the art, but this one had grip on the chest). I basically ignored the boots and was fascinated by the gloves and top. When i had them on that night i still didnt think much of them. They were comfy yeah but nothing id not noticed in a new pair before. Gradually i... Read review

The ultimate gloves for total control!!!
Review of Nike Vapor Grip 3 by kingchris

Advantages: Amazing comfort, fantastic grip, great looking pair of gloves
Disadvantages: A little bit expensive

...INTRODUCTION These were my first main pair of gloves. I had bought cheaper pairs of gloves for when I played for primary school, and the cheaper pairs had served me well when I was playing against small young players, but when I got into secondary school, the shots coming at me were more powerful and harder to save, so I decided that it was time that I needed a better and more expensive pair of gloves. I got a goalkeeping magazine, (which name I really can't remember at the moment), and flicked through all the gloves that were in it. They all seemed so great and fantastic, I really couldn't decide on which pair I should get. So I decided to do a process of elimination kind of thing. I went through the whole book, and going on price, grip, and all that, crossed each one off that I didn't want, so I would eventually come up... Read review

Pure class
Review of Sells Dual Adhesion Guard by Rik12345

Advantages: Great all rounder
Disadvantages: No thumb guard

...Following my average experience with the Reusch Duo Otho-Techs, I decided that it was time to find a goalkeeping glove that would satisfy my requirements completely. In order to this I undertook a detailed comparison of all the keeper's Gloves that were available on the prodirectsoccer.com website (THE place to go for goalkeeping products). I also used the experiences of my friends to influence this decision, and, aided by my goalkeeping coach, I decided that the up and coming Sells gloves needed to be tried. Sells were worn by Jersey Dudek in his European Cup Final heroics in Istanbul, along with an increasing number of Premiership keepers, so the pedigree of these gloves was not under question. Appearance: Once again I chose a colour scheme that would stand up to the rigour and dirt that a glove would be subjected to. In this case... Read review

Italian sport design at it's very best!!!
Review of Lotto Neo-Concept Gloves by kingchris

Advantages: Fantastic comfort, great value, great gloves!!!
Disadvantages: Not many, they may wear down after a while

...INTRODUCTION I decided to get a new pair of goalkeeper gloves when my previous pair were really starting to get worn down after years of saves and parries. The latex had been worn down right to the last layer, to the extent where a lot of the shots being put at me were slipping through my hands because the latex was so loose, so I decided that it was probably about time to get a new pair, and I couldn't have made a better choice of which gloves to get! I searched around the Internet for quite a while, checking a huge variety of gloves, ranging from £20.00 to £69.99!! If I had my way, I would have gone for the £69.99 pair, because honestly they were just so cool, but then I received words of warning of my parents about spending money on a pair of gloves that 'would only get ruined the first time I used them,' and also I really didn... Not bad, but not great
Review of Reusch Duo Ortho-Tech by Rik12345

Advantages: Good Appearance and Spine removal
Disadvantages: Poor wearing and uncomfortable

...I have been a goalkeeper for around ten years and I play to a good Sunday League standard. As such, I always try to find a pair of gloves that complement my ability whilst at the same time recognising that as an amateur player, I can't afford a new pair every game! Usually, I tend to target the top end of the market, spending around £50-£60 on a new pair of gloves. Whilst this is by no means the worst pair of gloves that I have had, they are also some distance from the best. Features: These gloves feature finger spines, based on the model pioneered by Addidas Fingersave. They are held in place in velcro sealed pocket, thus providing the option to remove from certained fingers as desired. The thumb spine does not have this option; I personally prefer a thumb spine but for keepers who don't, it can't be removed. The backhand is quite... Read review

That little Extra Strength
Review of Top+15 Goalkeeper Glove by khunKwai

Advantages: Excellent support for fingers, good grip, good punch
Disadvantages: None that I can find so far

...You've had those days in goal, where you've dived long, landed hard, got your fingers to the ball as it was flashing by and you think "YES...what a save!", unfortunately your fingers didn't quite hold up and it snuck into the corner.... Well no more, when I found these gloves this season, I was immediately taken by them, the shop didn't have my size, didn't know when they would get some more, so I took one size smaller and they've worked out well. The strengthened strips in the back of each finger serve several purposes : 1. They add strength to your fingers when making saves that require that "fingertip" touch 2. They stop your fingers being bent back and injured on all parts of your hand 3. They give some protection for stubbing your finger on the ball and from doing damage to your finger tips. Punching is also much more... Read review

The great and painful sport that is hockey!!
Review of Hockey - General by kingchris

Advantages: A great sport to play, really exciting and enjoyable
Disadvantages: Injuries do sometimes occur, and they are usually painful, some equipment expensive

...at either end of the pitch, but the one main difference between a hockey pitch and a football pitch is the goalkeeper's area. In football it is a rectangle, and the keeper cannot handle the ball outside of this area. In hockey, it is a semi-circle, with the straight part of the semi circle been the goal line, and the sidelines to the side of the goal. This semi-circle doesn't just affect the goalkeeper in hockey, it affects the entire opposition team. See about this in the rules section. There are two types of pitches you can play on. You can play on a grass pitch, although these are quite rare, and private teams or professionals usually play on these, and most of the time, professionals sometimes play on the alternative pitch. The other type of pitch is an astro-pitch, which is used for hockey mainly because you have much more chance... Read review

World United
Review of Fantasy Football by russ13

Advantages: its a class team
Disadvantages: must say its a shame these players wern't put together

...Well the idea is for me to select 11 players. So here they are. Key: GK: goalkeeper RB: right back CB: centre back LB: left back RM: right midfielder CM: centre midfielder LM: left midfielder AM: attacking midfielder CF: centre forward GK: its got to be Oliver Kahn because he is the best goalkeeper that ever put on a pair of gloves, football will be losing a great player when he retires. RB: it was close between Gary Neville and Cafu but Cafu won and this because he was the best defender Brazil ever produced. Well one of them anyway, but his careers almost over,  so football will miss you Cafu. CB: 1 out 2 of my CB’s is going to be Jaap Stam, ok he made a bad decision taking cocaine but he’s done his ban and while he was at Manchester United he was the best defender in Europe. CB: my second CB is going to be Sol Campbell... Read review

My personal A-Z for you to enjoy!
Review of A-Z for Members Challenges by kingchris

Advantages: Most of the things in this are great
Disadvantages: Some are bad and really painful!

...astro-turf, so we can play football whenever we like! G is for...Goalkeeper. I love playing as goalkeeper, (as you can probably guess from my picture wearing my goalkeeper gloves). I've been pretty serious playing as a goalkeeper since primary school, and instantly got into the school team, and played for the school for about 4 years, then I moved to secondary school and became the goalkeeper for them, but quit becuase the amount of homework was piling up and none of it was getting done. But now I've got the homework issue sorted I've been invited to play for the town, but I havn't decided yet becuase of the SATS exams coming up very soon! I used to look up to such goalkeepers as Seaman, but now much more improved goalkeepers are coming through such as Petr Cech and Buffon. H is for...Home. After a hard day of school there nothing... Do players like James deserve to play
Review of Aston Villa by jonherring

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...Aston Villa face another bombshell with the news that England goalkeeper David James wants to leave. James believes-like Gareth Southgate that his future lies away from Villa Park. The former Liverpool goalkeeper is disillusioned with treatment of goalkeeper coach Paul Barron, who is set to move to Borough within days. David James, who is approaching thirty-one should really be careful with the decisions that he makes. In my opinion when a player, even a goalkeeper reaches the age of thirty then he is no longer a prime target for top clubs. Clubs that are in Europe and are at the top end of the playing scale want to guarantee European football for the future. Age has become a whole new aspect to the game. Managers such as Claudio Ranieri are searching for young players to build up the squad. David James is rated as a goalkeeper... Read review
