Costs Slightly More, But Absolutely Worth It
Review of Anchor New Zealand Butter by
Kezza88
Advantages: Smooth, creamy taste - no hydrogenated fats either.
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than other brands.
...yourself of life's little luxuries all the time can't be good either. You don't need to use a lot of Anchor butter to get the fantastic flavour, and eaten in moderation it has to be better than eating margarine (with it's hydrogenated oils & fats, and fake taste).
I puchased Anchor butter (500g) at Tesco for £1.39 (I think it was on special). It comes in a block, wrapped in yellow paper, with the Anchor brand clearly visible. You can also purchase Anchor Spreadable, and also a half/half type mixture if you wish. They are a little more expensive.
Even so, compared to other brands, Anchor is a little more expensive. However considering what other brands offer, Anchor butter is exceptionally good value for money.
I'm a butter convert now!...

Insider View of an Irish girl in Germany
Review of Germany : Republic of Ireland (2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan) by
free4susan
Advantages: Such joy!
Disadvantages: It was only a draw - what would we be like if we won a game??
.... There was no increase in bunting or extra German flags around. The BMWs and Mercedes are not decorated with little German flags from the back windows. When I asked a German colleague about this she said I would not see these public displays of nationalism unless Germany won the game. And if they lost, the team would be dismissed as useless. I find this all a real shame as the lack of atmosphere is a big thing.
However there was no lack of atmosphere when I arrived at the pub. The place was heaving with a half an hour to go to kick-off. God help the poor waitresses who were serving the tables, there wasn't room to breathe in there, let alone carry trays of drinks to tables. Surprisingly the pub had also a huge amount of German supporters, I would imagine it was half-half. The reason? The Germans who were near us made it quite clear...

Caprice... ain't she a model?
Review of Caprice, Edinburgh by
Calldean
Advantages: Cosy, great range of food and prices
Disadvantages: Can be a bit slow with service
...How can I describe the Caprice?
It's small.
Cosy I would say.
It's tucked away on a small high street corner in Musselburgh and on a winters night it's great to sit in there and watch the world go by.
THe decor is.... tacky. There is some very bad carving on the walls (Especially the "deer". Least that's what I think it's meant to be. Keep meaning to ask) but it all adds to the atmosphere of the place. Well; I keep telling myself that anyway!!
The downstairs only seats about 40 people maybe. And I must admit it can be a bit cramped. But again; it's cosy.
The food on offer ranges from basic pizzas through the normal pastas onto veal, and half+half (Consiting of half a pizza and a smaller than normal serving of pasta of your choice).
The range of food is great.
Starters include the usual soups and prawn cocktails but it also...

Home made bread without the mess and kneading
Review of Morphy Richards 48286 by
magdadh
Advantages: cheap, does the job
Disadvantages: not as tasty as from the oven, lots of vertical space required, the crust collapses, measurement by volume
..., browning, crust, loaf size). The LCD display shows the programme number and the time left of the current cycle, while little icons above and below that show chosen programme and additional options. The digits used to display programme and time are generous and easy to see, while the other information is bit small, but probably OK for most normally sighted people.
*All in all*
I am reasonably happy if not exactly extatic with my purchase, and I suspect that most of the faults apply to breadmakers in general more than to this particular one.
Nowadays I use it about half-half for making dough to bake in the oven and making bread from start to finish. This has less to do with the faults of the machine and more with the fact that since I got pregnant I find the smell of baking bread rather sickly and somehow the one emanating from the bread...
