Technics Hifi System
Review of Technics SH-EH500 by
Toady
Advantages: Execellent Sound, vaule for money and excellent features
Disadvantages: Can be too bassy
...I brought this Hi-fi system Technics SH-EH500 3 yrs ago now and cannot fault it in anyway. It cost me at the time of purchase £500 and is still worth every penny spent. It’s superwoofer is a good feature and the clock/timer feature is good too as it gets you up in the mornings. It's very powerful due to the many bass features it has so maybe a bit to powerful for a typical household environment. The Hifi it's self is very sylish looking Black with Gold trim.
It came with these accessories AC power supply cord, Remote control transmitter, Remote control batteries, FM indoor antenna, AM loop antenna set, Speaker cords and Antenna plug adaptor.
These are all the features on the Hi-fi:
Tuner/amplifier section
Clock/timer button
Power “standby” button
Timer on/off buttons (play & rec)
Tuning mode select button
Set...

slim stlyish what else do you want
Review of Nokia 8210 by
martinwright
Advantages: small and light
Disadvantages: easy to lose
...it doesn't really have enough impact to break it anyway, unless you're on the ledge of your brokers office whilst the Nasdaq takes another plunge... and drop the thing... it doesn't have stock quotes anyway (unless of course you're getting them by email).
The number keys and the on/off buttons seem kind of flimsy perhaps due to the changeable front panel which allows you to decorate your phone with fancy colors, again not a feature that interests me in the least.
The antenna of the 8210 is located internally which may eliminate those trips to the repair center which were not infrequent with my StarTAC for the antenna breaking. The absence of an external antenna however may contribute to the weak signal which this phone seems to have a bit of a problem with. The power bar signal seems to indicate a fairly weak signal while indoors buildings...

How to save your connection
Review of Hawking H-AI6SIP Hi-Gain Antenna by
Jon_Farrimond
Advantages: Big
Disadvantages: Long cable
...Right, before I start, this is my situation, I live with my student chumbs and we wirelessly share the internet and a printer this is great except for the fact that we live in a big house with lots of electrical items in it. So as you can imagine wireless signal penetration isn't great. For me it became awful - so i bought this device and its works very well.
It is huge and as such picks up more signal, it has improved my network connection from 18mbps to about 54/48mbps. Obviously since this is just an aerial, installation is easy, you just plug it in and theres no software to install at all. You literally plug it in and it works. Its omnidirectional (ie it improves signal strength in all directions) and is designed for indoor use only (but it wouldn't be damaged by rain, lightening on the other hand...).
There is one warning I have...

agree but trying to look a little deeper
Review of Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T Stick by
coppinpr
Advantages: Works very well in a fixed location, cheap, good interface
Disadvantages: mini antenna useless, no good 'on the move'
...This product really is a remarkable little add on once you take into consideration the drawbacks mentioned in the first two reviews.
I had an earlier, freestanding version of this item for my desk top and I suspect this is the same hardwear in a much smaller and more useful form. The whole thing looks much like a usb mem stick but perhaps just a little longer and once you have set up the softwear it's simply plug and go. On screen the interface is easy to use and not unpleasent to look at, full screen and small window are both available and the picture is first class. Recording is easy and works well, scanning for channels is a simple key press and takes only a few seconds to run. This model has clearly been designed for lap tops and comes with a smart looking (but completly usless as far as I can see) mini antenna, and, like the other...

THE DESIRABLE DISTINCTIVE DENON
Review of Denon D-F 102 (DRA-F102/DCD-F102/SC-F102) by
allyoxley
Advantages: State of the Art Sound
Disadvantages: None that I know of
...Before I start regarding this system, a word of advice, really shop around, I personally saved over £100 by buying this over the internet compared with what the high street electrical stores were charging. I paid £327 for the DF-102 System and £68.99 for the SF102 speakers as seperates, instore the system sells for £499.99.
The Hi-Fi comes in two systems, the CD Player (DCD-F102) and a AM/FM Stereo-DAB Receiver (DRA-F102 DAB), both units are silver, and the Speakers are Silver with a removable black front cover. A Remote Control is also supplied with this system (which takes 2 AAA batteries) as well as a DAB indoor antenna.
Firstly I will explain the CD Player's Specifications:-
The measurements are as follows:-
250mm wide x 78mm high x 250 depth and the unit weighs 2.9kg.
The player only takes one CD.
The front of the unit has...

PDA and GPS, all-in-one
Review of Acer N35 GPS by
Juancruz
Advantages: Great value for the money.
Disadvantages: No wireless connection
...a PCMCIA or SDIO (Secure digital or Compact flash) slot to connect.. Not a bad choice, they convert your PDA or laptop in a portable GPS. In the case of PDAs, the main problem is that they use the external memory slot.. If the PDA only have one, you can't have the GPS and memory at the same time, and the maps used by navigation software use to need a good amount of memory (over 100 Mb). The other problem is that the GPS antenna use to be a little big,, so it makes a little more difficult to carry the PDA in the pocket, for example. Price from 120€ (80 pounds)
PDA with built-in GPS: They're a bit thicker than standard PDAs, and it's price quite higher than a PDA without GPS. The main advantage is that you have a all-in-one GPS navigator, and a personal assistant in the same price, so if you planned to buy a PDA, and you also wanted a GPS...

3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point
Review of 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Bargain bundle with wireless card for my laptop
Disadvantages: Just an access point, no modem/hub/etc
...settings and encryption technology helps.
Once all set up, it's a really effective product and works great. I've never had to adjust any settings or deal with it in any way since getting it up and running, although there is a very full featured browser-accesses administration tool to play with any setting as necessary, or check the (very detailed) log files. It maintains my connections well, various laptops always pick up the signal quickly and the signal strength has always been fine. Operating range is a claimed indoor maximum of 100 meters / 328 feet (Outdoor maximum 457 meters / 1,499 feet) and I've certainly had no problems with signal strength all over a 3 floor victorian terrace from my study in a middle bedroon - and even in the garden !
Security is always an issue with wifi, and this access point has it covered with very simple 256...

Stunning phone for the price...
Review of Sony Ericsson K550i Cyber-shot by
Rich444
Advantages: Brilliant design, Great camera and feature packed, Inexpensive
Disadvantages: Poor indoor shots, high-end phones may be better
...button on the side of the phone, however this is not very responsive so using the navigation button is easier. Picture quality is amazingly clear on outdoor photos (actually comparable to those of an ctual camera), however...pictures taken indoors are not as good and come out grainy on many shots, even when using the integrated flash. Overall though it is very good in comparison with other camera phones. However Sony's older model, the K750i, is known to have a better camera than this.
Ease of use:
My favourite thing about this phone is the speed, menus open instantly, and even picture thumbnails can be flicked through at a good speed. There are no "load times" as such. Menus are very clear, and when looking through files the phone has tabs to split them into those on the phone, memory card or on both.
In the box:
Usual stuff: Handset...

Samsung Syncmaster 710MP
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 710 MP by
express1
Advantages: Slim construction
Disadvantages: Was't very impressed with UHF picture
...I was offered a used model by a friend.
It certainly looks the business & is very smart, when sat on the desktop.
If you have a nice machine and it's good, you like to tell everyone else it's good too. Don't you?
Well I love this monitor, if you want all the techy stuff look at the spec sheet! I'm just going to tell you what it's like for the average punter to use.
The Syncmaster 710 MP is easy to use, is excellent when connected to your PC, has integral speakers , which won't blow your brains out, but make adequate noise to tell you what's happening.
I personally prefer to use it as a monitor for my PC. The Syncmaster gives good picture & sound, when connected to Sky via a SCART cable, but using a simple stand alone UHF indoor aerial , means | | |
