For Healthy looking indoor plants...
Review of Baby Bio Indoor Plant Spray by  kiran8

Advantages: It is very effective in controling pests..
Disadvantages: Can have some minor irritations if one comes into direct contact with the spray..

...ABOUT INDOOR PLANTS Houseplants are popular indoor decorations.Attractive and constantly changing, they add a softness of line and nature indoors..It adds that special something to a room... House Plants add more than beauty and personality to a room - they can actually make your home healthier!! Many, if not most of the materials used to build our homes and offices are loaded with chemicals that are known to cause a variety of health problems in people, including cancer...and house plants are known to offset these toxic effects.. The ideal location of a plant for decoration may not be the ideal spot for plant growth. Lack of adequate light is the most common factor limiting the growth of plants in many areas of ones home. Improper watering is another major cause of most house plant problems. Both under and over watering can cause... Read review

a very pretty plant.
Review of Cyclamen by  Bryn_Pearson

Advantages: very attracitve winter flowers.
Disadvantages: looks dead for most of the year.

...The cyclamen is a very attractive house plant - typically producing flowers for one season only, most often winter and early spring. The flowers range in colour from white to deep reds, assorted shades of pink and purple. The cyclamen has a large bulb, the top of which should be above the surface of the soil. Leaves and flowers sprout from the bulb, and when the plant's season is over, the growth will die back. Leave the plant outside during the summer and do not bother to water it - bring it back in in the autumn to enjoy the new growths. Check which season your plant blooms in - nornmally they are sold in flower, which makes it easy to tell. If you keep the plant indoors and put up with the dead periods, ome will bloom more than once in a year. It is important to water cyclamen from the bottom - place the plant pot in a tray... Use the leaves and the seeds.
Review of Coriander by  Bryn_Pearson

Advantages: a wide range of uses.
Disadvantages: tends to die off in winter.

...of its interest. The leaves are best eaten raw. They have a bitter flavour, and are slightly hot. I would recomend adding them to salads, especially if you want something to go with a chilli. Corriander can be grow indoors or out. I have only grown it indoors and my plant died in the winter. Water regularly, check for aphids. Harvest side leaves - if you cut the top off the plant it will stop it from flowering and seeding.... Read review

You can't beat the taste.
Review of Tomatoes by  daseaford

Advantages: The great taste.
Disadvantages: Plants need some attention.

...the plants healthy and produces a bigger yield. Unfortunately in this country we often have the problem of the tomatoes staying green because of a lack of sunlight. When there are a lot of green tomatoes on the plants I pick some and bring the tomatoes indoors otherwise the weight will just break the plants. If you put the tomatoes in a deep dish on a sunlit windowsill they will turn red within a few days and be ready to eat. Growing your own tomatoes does not save you any money, in fact by the time you have bought the plants, some compost, the canes and the liquid food it may even cost you more than buying them from the local shop, but the taste is worth every penny. It is very satisfying growing your own tomatoes and very relaxing.... Read review

Spiders everywhere
Review of Spider Plants by  grafter123

Advantages: Easy to look after, can stand some neglect, easy to propagate, cheap
Disadvantages: Feed at your peril

...There are many suitable plants for indootrs which will last well, look good and possibly help the quality of the air in your home. One such plant is the spider plant. BACKGROUND Packing the down stairs of my house up a couple of weeks ago ready for some much needed, but equally much dreaded work, I carried all of my plants upstairs into the spare bedroom for safe keeping. I was amazed at just how many spider plants I have and the size of some of them. When my Mum died, back in 1975, I took her indoor plants home, as I knew she had really cherished them. To this day I would hate to throw a living plant away, even if I did not want it. I would have to find a corner or a home for it. Silly but then that's me. For many years after Mum died I still had her original Spider Plant although most of the other... Read review

SOUNDS FRUITY
Review of Hyacinth by  tuppney

Advantages: none that I can think of
Disadvantages: dislikes very hot conditions

...This is my op on the Grape Hyacinth. The Latin name for this plant is (Muscari ameniacum). The Grape Hyacinth must be the easiest of all bulb plants to grow. It can be either grown indoors or out doors in the garden. This plant comes from Turkey and has long, narrow leaves which grow in the Autumn and shrivel away in the early of Summer. The flowers look like little pixie hats, the flowers are fragrant and rise in the spring. Numerous plants have been developed and flower colours come in shades of white, blue and deepest shades of violet are now available. This tough little bulb will last better indoors provided that it is not too hot. The temperatures for this plant should be between a cool 4 degrees celcius (40 degrees farenheit) and a maximum of 20 degrees celcius (68 degrees farenheit) to obtain the best result. The pot grown... Read review

Not for outdoors with British Weather
Review of Skyduster by  burnleygirly

Advantages: Lovely Palm Tree
Disadvantages: Dont like wet weather

...The Skyduster Palm is one of the most popular street palms in America. it is fast growing, elegant, and given good drainage and shelter from the wind is cold hardy. The Skyduster dislikes wet, humid conditions. If they are grown outside, be sure to give them really good drainage. As garden plants, they are best left to the experienced palm growers, they do however make great plants for brightly lit conservatories, or as tub plants on the patio in summer (Which should be brought indoors for the worst of our British winter weather). If you do grow them indoors, make sure the air does not become too moist in winter as this will cause the leaf tips to go moldy. Incidentally, you may sometime see multi-trunked Skydusters. These palms have only one trunk, dont be fooled. Those with additional trunks are really just several plants... Read review

Is that a poached egg in your garden ?!
Review of Poached Egg Plant by  mumsymary

Advantages: Pretty / good for bees
Disadvantages: none

...August. Sow in a seed tray with seed compost and plant out when big enough. You can sow this seed direct into the ground. If you let the poached egg set seed you will get some self setting for next year .You could also seed this plant in June it will then flower indoors in the winter. I will grow this plant in my garden The poached egg plant likes the sun and a free draining soil it attracts bees, hoverflies and possibly butterflies. Some seeds merchants sell this seed in their wildlife attracting section. A packet of these seeds costs £1.70 from http://www.suttons.co.uk/pd141452PoachedEggPlantLimnanthesDouglasiiS eeds.htm also from http://fothergills.co.uk/en/limnanthes-poached-egg-plant-914.aspx. The seeds of the poached egg plant are widely available at garden centres too. This flower is a bright cheery one certainly worth... Read review

No rain for this Umbrella
Review of Schefflera actinophylla (Umbrella tree) by  paisleyman

Advantages: Huge Plant-Catches the eye
Disadvantages: Can Grow too tall

...About a year ago, in the summer, I went to Skegness. I used to go regularly when I was a coach driver, but now it's just for my own pleasure. (Takes me back to happier times). Anyway, on the way home I stopped at a large farm shop/ cafe on the A17, the same one I always stopped at in my coach years before. They have a large cafeteria and a plant and flower shop as well as selling vegetables and other farm produce. After I had some refreshment I wandered into the garden shop and saw some rather interesting plants. Indoor and outdoor varieties and so I thought I might treat myself to one or two. It ended up being one, I spotted this little plant about five or six inches tall. Very dark green leaves in little groups sticking out all round. The label said it was Schefflera actinophylla and its common name was the Umbrella tree... Read review

The Only Spider I Like In My Home
Review of Spider Plants by  witchwaysup

Advantages: Grows Surely And Steadily
Disadvantages: No Great Visual Impact

...to have developed a taste for my spider plant, so the leaves are beginning to look a little bit nibbled around the edges now. I have tried to persuade him to nibble the chilli plant next to it, so that he can learn not to chomp my plants, but this cat is no fool! All in all, I would suggest that most indoor plant collections should have a spider plant, as they will survive when other, more fiddly plants are long gone.... Read review
