Reviews of induction 60cm
Delighted with performance and style
Review of Hotpoint ET6124X by
tynegal
Advantages: The ultimate in responsiveness and safety
Disadvantages: Pricey - but worth it
...I am thrilled to bits with this hob . It has a physics degree all of its own but is simplicity to use! My model is the ET6124, the 60cm rimless black ceramic hob, not the version with the stainless steel edging. It has induction power to four hob areas, two small, two large. Induction means the only pans heat up rather than the surface of the hob. It looks super streamlined and modern and fits in an ordinary worktop like any other hob, with cabling to the electricity supply. Mine replaces a conventional built in electric hob with four solid rings.
* Controls: The power switches are integral to the surface in an easy-to-use touch control panel on the front right hand side. There are on and off 'switches', four blobs corresponding to the heat areas (which light up with the power level you set), a + and - panel to control the heat...

BIG hob looks for the smaller kitchen.
Review of Baumatic B68 by
tonciao
Advantages: Great price, 70cm hob fits in 60cm cutout!, 5 burners
Disadvantages: Big pans touch, difficult to set it low enough for gentle simmer
...I Bought the hob to go with a Baumatic B187 oven (reviewed elsewhere), as it looked good, and gave the smallish kitchen a bit more glitz.
As mentioned in the heading, this 70cm hob fits in a 60 cm cut-out which was very handy as two drawer units were sandwiching the oven, and there was no room for anything bigger than 60cm. The B68 over sails the drawers, but there's no problem as the cut-out is still 60cm!
I think this hob is a bit of a step up from some others at the price as it has heavy cast iron pan stands… 3 of them in all so they are easier to fit in a standard dishwasher. The burner tops feel a bit thin and cheap when you clean them, but they look and work fine on the hob. The aluminium burners are just surface polished, as I found out when I put them through the dishwasher and they went dull grey.
As mentioned the pan...

Washer Drier Meets Mission Control At Houston!
Review of Hotpoint WD860G by
jennyd60
Advantages: Virtually Silent, ecconomic, Superb wash Performance, Uses almost NO water, Powerful Gentle spin.
Disadvantages: Control panel can look a bit daunting (but isn't really)
..., like me, you hand wash a lot of delicates and then like to put them in for a quick finishing rinse and spin then don't expect them to be done in five minutes like your old machine would have done. The Hotpoint insists on doing a nearly 20 minute rinse/spin cycle. It does do a good job but just not quite so quickly.
The door has an automatic time-lock on it which prevents access until three or four minutes after the machine stops. If you try and rush things the only result is that the machine locks up and you have to switch it off and on again.
Other than that it is pretty well perfect. Well done Hotppoint.
Oh yes… nearly forgot….
Its available in silver and white. We chose white.
Cost from Comet £395 delivered.
Size 59.5 x 85 x 60 cm (which is pretty standard stuff really)...

On joining the gym.
Review of Monologues by
simcox1
Advantages: Getting fit.
Disadvantages: Cost.
...I have recently decided to get fit. Well fitter anyway. Years ago, about 10, was the last time I visited a gym. I know things have moved on a bit now. I know the machines might be slightly more technologically advanced. But how hard can it be? I mean can't I just go down to the gym and do something? Apparently not.
I haven't actually had my 'induction' at the gym yet, but it seems to be a prerequisite before I can actually see if my muscles still work. The local council gym near me is actually run by a firm called Kinetica. So I popped down there thinking it wouldn't be too hard. First of all I had to wait until a representative was available so she could go through a form with me to determine my 'goals'. To lose a bit of weight I said. Fine, she said, you'll need to come by at least twice a week to do that. Fine I said. Then she said I...

SHARTFIE

...and that you had to load the salt and rinse aid seperately. Not too much hassle as I have got used to this.

Ideal for ridge walkers
Review of Camp XLA 210 Ice Axe 60cm by
emilne82
Advantages: Cheap, relativly light
Disadvantages: Leash comes off
...Hi,
Having doing hillwalking and low grade rock climbing for a number of years i though i would take the plunge into winter walking. Last year i bought myself a pair of Grivel G10 crampons and the above axe.
The axe is 60cm in length with a wrist lensh on the shaft. The axe head is study and joined to shaft with an eyelet rivet, the same as most axes of this type. The shaft of the axe sounds hollow giving it it's light weight. This does not mean that it is weak, as I used it once as as a hanhold, jaming the axe horizontal across the top of two boulders and hauling myself up on it, the shaft did not bend and their is no sign of cracking.
The shaft appears to have a protective coating on it that also allows for extera grip by having loads of small raised bubbles on it.
The head of the axe, is quit tough, and has not been disfigured...

Double Oven 60cm Gas Cooker
Review of Belling G744 Gas Cooker by
Titch47
Advantages: Easy to clean and very smart looking.
Disadvantages: Oven racks quite difficult to pull out. No oven light.
...I purchased this cooker in white. I paid £269.95 but most suppliers seem to be selling it for £500+ so I think perhaps mine was priced wrongly as it certainly seems more like a £500 cooker than a cheaper model. It is a very smart looking cooker and easy to keep clean. It has double glass panels to both ovens which are extremely easy to wipe clean as is the smoked glass lid. The burners are very neat looking and the pan supports keep even the smallest of pans stable. Being 60cm the oven is a generous size and the hotplate easily accommodates four full size pans at once.
I find the grill very fast and when only cooking on one shelf the top oven is more than adequate.
The self cleaning oven really does self clean. The shelves in the main oven are a bit difficult to remove but I think this may just be due to it being new. The oven does...

You spin me right round, baby right round
Review of Zanussi-Electrolux ZWF1637 by
belgian.waffle
Advantages: washes clothes really well, large drum capacity, lots of programmes, dries clothes really quickly
Disadvantages: The title of this review - sorry I couldn't help myself
...When the time came for a dishwasher to be installed into my very tiny kitchen something had to give and in my case I had to dispose of my seperate washing machine and dryer and go out and buy a combined easher/dryer. Anything for an easy life. I decided on the Zanussi ZWF1637 mainly because it was the first I saw and because I couldn't be bothered wandering around looking at washing machines on my day off. It cost £330 and was graded as energy efficient A.
Once the delivery men arrived and installed it I was quite pleased that there was no hassle, it was plumbed in within minutes and ready to go. The white plastic finish doesn't look tacky and it looks far too bright against the older appliances in the kitchen. The dimensions for information are 85cm high, 60cm wide and 60cm deep. Hardly huge and likely to fit under any average...

Dishin' It Up
Review of Sky Digital 60 cm Satellite Dish (mini) by
RAF_Reviewer
Advantages: Everything, no faults what so ever
Disadvantages: None at all in 2 years
...I fail to see the reason for BskyB issuing two different sizes of their 'free' digital minidish, but they seem to have gotten the features and reliability right in both models so what the heck.
Before i moved house two years ago i took out a Sky digital subscription for £40 per month, which included access to all of sky's standard channel's. including the sports and movie channels and also included a free sky Minidish and Digibox. In this instance i was supplied with a 60cm model, which was installed FOC by the sky digital engineer whom came to activate my services. The engineer was only here for a matter of 20 minutes, and in this time he installed the dish and box and setup all of the services that my new installation had to offer. This is the only time that i clapped eyes on a sky engineer for 2 years, which is a true indication...

Very Good Cooker Hood
Review of Elica INT60-3 by
oscat01
Advantages: Metal washable filters,Quiet and covered controls
Disadvantages: None so far.
...If you happen to need a 60cm Cooker Hood that hides behind a door panel that matches rest of your kitchen then do consider this one.
It has three speeds, the first is adequate for day to day use and compared to the Hygena one which I had before is extremely quiet and the third will clear the room if some mishap happens but is as noisey as the Hygena on its first setting (the reason it got replaced).
The light is good and bright and mine is grey in color with bright silver filters which goes well with stainless steel appliances, it looks better than expected and speed and lighting controls are under a plastic cover to stop them getting gunked by grease.
Has two filters that can go in a dishwasher or fit in the sink, The Hygena had a huge one that only fitted in the bath !
Got mine at Applianceplanet .co.uk for £87 including delivery...
