THE INTEL PROCESSOR.
Review of Intel Pentium 4 530J / 3 GHz processor by
packerlist
Advantages: VERY HIGH SPEED IN PROCESSING
Disadvantages: : MAKES NOISE.
...I got this just for two reasons; the number one reason is that my other Intel seems to be outdated and the number two reasons is that I wanted a more advanced and faster processor for my PC gaming so I had to buy this for these reasons. The processor comes in an orange packed colour with blue stripe at the edge of the pack and also with an instruction, heat stick and fan for cooling down the temperature.
The processor makes it outright for easy installation and application so no problem when it comes to installations and ease of use.
The Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHZ socket 775 CPU has hyper technology and I think that was the best processor computer product I could find in the market and I decided to buy it after a long battle between Intel and athlon processor on which one to buy. The Intel processors that I have been using have been good...

Intel 541 Review
Review of Intel Pentium 4 541 / 3.2 GHz processor by
robump
Advantages: Great Price, Value for money
Disadvantages: It is not dual core, Single core processors are becoming out dated
...I have used this processor in my media centre when i built it up. I feel that it is excellent value for money. It comes with everything you need for you to install it into a lga 775 socket, the fan and heatsink already come supplied with thermal paste applied. It is very easy to install into a socket 775 and uses conductive pads instead of the old pins. I would say it took me about 15mins to install mine and it works brilliantly. It runs at an average temperature of about (34 degrees celcius) this really depends on how much other cooling you have in your case. This processor uses intels hyper threading technology which helps it along when you are doing very processor intensive tasks e.g. video encoding. This processor runs very stable at 3.2 ghz and I have not tried overclocking it yet as i have no need for a media centre. I have...

Abit AG8 - more pins but less impressive
Review of ABIT AG8 - motherboard - ATX - i915P by
burnt_out
Advantages: New chipset, and processor socket.
Disadvantages: Isn't as advanced as it's made out
...For a new LGA775 Pentium 4 motherboard boasting raft of high-speed technological highlights, Abit's AG8 has a remarkably short and demure name. While I'm not overly averse to product names using the words 'hyper', 'ultra', 'mega' and 'superbadass', it's rare to see a new product that isn't shouting about it's various innovations.
The AG8 supports the new Intel LGA775 Pentium 4 CPUs, so the most immediate noticable aspect of it's appearnce is the huge buckle-like 'socket' itself. The AG8 uses the Intel 915P chip for the Northbridge, bt it is buried under a chunky heatsink with a 40mm fan attached to it. The 915 is the cutdown version 925, as the 865 was the cutdown version of the 875P, and the Pvariant denotes a lack of on-board graphics. While this isn't a serious omission, the AG8 also lacks the next iteration of on-board sound, Intel...

Intel D945 Processor
Review of Intel Pentium D 945 / 3.4 GHz processor by
smart_sheep
Advantages: Speed, Price.
Disadvantages: Old Technology, Power consumption.
...Introduction:
As Intel continues to offer new technology processors at very affordable price, the older technology processor's price has fallen dramatically to a very low level. The prices for processors are at record low level. This has helped the end user to build some inexpensive systems using the high end processors of the last generations. Although one generation behind in core architecture, the Intel D945 processor is able to perform excellently.
Architecture:
The processor is based on 65 nm fabrication process, which is common to Core 2 Duo's as well but has a different core architecture compared to that of Intel Core 2 Duo processors. It is based on, not so popular Net Burst architecture. It is dual core, for sure and fits in any motherboard having LGA775 socket.
General Information:
This processor runs at a whopping speed of 3.4...

Pentium 4 Interface
Review of Intel Pentium 4 2 GHz processor by
rpgmagician
Advantages: much better than SLOT1
Disadvantages: don't know
...The Pentium 4 interfaces with the motherboard using a new socket, named Socket-423. In fact, after the first half of 2001 the Pentium 4 will start to be available in both a Socket-423 and a Socket-478 version. The latter will be due to replace Socket-423 much like Socket-370 replaced Slot-1. For those of you that currently have Slot-1 CPUs, do you want to be in the same situation with the Pentium 4 as you current are with your CPU?
In contrast, AMD plans to stick with Socket-A for at least a little while longer. The next generation Athlon and Duron CPUs, according to AMD, will work in current Socket-A boards however you will obviously need a new board with 266MHz (133MHz DDR) FSB support if you want to get the most out of a 266MHz FSB CPU.
Without looking at benchmarks, the short lived nature of the Socket-423 interface...

D 925
Review of Intel Pentium D 925 / 3 GHz processor by
Shah_H
Advantages: Cheap, Fast.
Disadvantages: Heat, Old Generation
...I bought this processor a few months ago. I always had a good experience with Intel and once more I enjoyed their offering. This processor is a decent performer running at 3 GHz. It can fit in any motherboard having LGA775 socket. It is based on 65 nm manufacturing technology. And for sure it is dual core!
Architecture Features:
Enhanced SpeedStep technology, streaming SIMD extensions 2, streaming SIMD extensions 3, Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology, Execute Disable Bit capability
This processor runs at 3 GHz. It has decent FSB of 800 MHz. It is equipped with 2 MB l2 cache per core which means a total of 4 MB cache.
The power requirements of this processor are a bit higher than those of the newer Core 2 Duo processors but still they are not that high. The processor heats up a bit, so, take care of the airflow across the processor...

The best processor you can get
Review of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 / 2.4 GHz processor by
Mazaron
Advantages: Fast speeds, four cores, great overclocking potential, easy to install
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!
...a whole replacement of the CPU. (All older processors have the pins located directly on the chip.) The "775" refers to how many pins the socket has to make contact between the motherboard and the CPU. Due to Socket 775 having more pins that most other sockets it provides better power distribution to the processor, which means your system is more stable especially when overclocking.
Performance:
When using multithreaded applications (Applications that can use more than one core at the same time) the Q6600 provides extremely fast calculations, but even if the program is not multithreaded it still provides extremely fast speeds. Even better performance than those of faster pentium 4 chips due to superior archetechture which maximizes the efficiency of transferring and calculating data. The Q6600 is the perfect chip for gamers and enthusiasts...
