..., is involved in a particularly gruesome, but poignant, scene with a soldier that he has come to call his friend. From the other side of the equation, you are shown a North Vietnamese soldier who manages to break through the cordon to attack Moore.....but that would be too give too much of the film away. You really should buy this, or at least rent it. It doesn't "make Saving Private Ryan look like Dad's Army", as the box says, but it sits well with Platoon and Full Metal Jacket.... Read review

...I bought a grey/blue trouser suit in Dorothy Perkins last April in the Colwyn Bay store in North Wales and it was of the very first suit that they had put on the market as a Washable suit and I have washed and washed this suit and it still looks in the same condition as I bought it. There is none of this bobbling of the material, nothing has stretched or worn on the cuffs, and I must have worn it and washed it at least once a week for the last 10 months. I then bought another jacket from there, a black one and this has been the same. Excellent value, I think I paid around £60 for the trouser suit and it was definately worth every penny that I paid, and I bought the jaket in a Sale for £20 and it has definately been the best bargain jacket for work. Gonna make you sweat. --------------------------------- I have only worn this in the indoor snow slope at Castleford, and while it's still pretty cold in there - you don't get the windchill factor like you would out on the piste. So unless I can test it out in a blast freezer I don't know how it will handle colder weather. But judging by what I've worn in the past in bad weather it should be OK. (Ever ridden a bike/ motorbike in icy conditions? - then, my friend, you will know Cold . . ) Even so the jacket was warm enough that sweat was running down my face only after a couple of runs down the slope. But the breathable material did its job well. Not once did I feel soaked or uncomfortable. Although I wasn't wearing the hood, just a helmet. It isn't overly restrictive. Wearing any jacket... ...Live free or die’ says the motto on every car plate from New Hampshire, and no-where is this more true than in the town of North Conway. The people are friendly, patriotic and extremely proud of their beautiful surroundings. North Conway is the ideal place to visit if you are interested in sports – in the winter it is an excellent skiing area and in the summer months is full of hikers and campers. The town is on the edge of the White Mountains and most visitors (ourselves included) take a trip to Mount Washington, which is the tallest in the Presidential range. The summit can be reached by foot, by cog railway, or by car via a toll road (very pretty but a bit scary in places). I have finally got around to buying this film on DVD, I don't know why it has taken me so long as it's one I have wanted in my collection for so long. It actually took over 12 years from cinema release to get it on Video. Full Metal Jacket was released in 1986, around the time there were a few Vietnam war films on offer such as Platoon , Hamburger Hill and The Deer Hunter. I believe Full Metal Jacket to be the best of the bunch. Stanley Kubrick to me is an incredible director, with such films as The Shinning, Spartacus and 2001 a space oddesy he is well known and respected in his field of work. Advantages: Indestructable, and the only jacket you'll ever need

...Nothing quite sums up the British 'country set' as the ubiquitous waxed cotton 'Barbour' jacket. The founder (John Barbour) was actually a Scotsman, and formed the company which bears his name in the Northumbrian port of North Shields, supplying oilskins for the fishing industry. Over time, he diversified to provide a range of clothing which suited practically any outdoor pursuit where rain and harsh weather are important factors. ...the majority of the wildlife, the boat sheds, ice cream vendors and a small cafe with views over the lake. The first thing you will notice when arriving in this area is the lighthouse - The Scott Memorial. This was erected to commemorate the time when Captain Scott's ship stopped at Cardiff for coal on his ill-fated voyage to the Antarctic. Stood facing the lighthouse, to your left you will find the cafe, ice cream shop and the boat hire kiosk. Here you can hire either rowing or pedal boats at reasonable prices for a trip out onto the lake. Life jackets are available, and the boats all seem to be in good condition and well maintained. For the less energetic there are also pleasure trips in a larger open air boat. You are limited as to how far you can take your rowing boat as the four islands on the lake are the only part of the park... Read review

...The Galleria straddles the A1M at Hatfield, about 8 miles north from the M25. It styles itself an outlet centre, rather then a shopping centre and this is a distinction that must be borne in mind. The aim is to bring under one roof a range of discount stores, rather than mainstream retailers. The Galleria is a modern steel and glass structure on two floors. As I mentioned earlier, it stands above the A1M where the road passes through a tunnel. It is easily accessed from either north- or southbound carriageways and is signposted from the junctions. In either case if you miss your turning you will pass beneath the centre but you will get another chance at the following exit, so don’t panic.
