Jacqueline YOU ARE AMAZING!
Review of Suitcase Kid - Jacqueline Wilson by  nic_666

Advantages: jacqueline wilson is such a talented author
Disadvantages: none! Jacqueline YOU ARE AMAZING!

...Jacqueline Wilson has been a writer ever since she was 17 years of age. She first started writing professionally when she worked for the popular teenage magazine, Jackie and ever since then she has been writing. Wilson has led a very interesting life. Jacqueline Wilson was born on December in 1945, in Bath, England. She was the daughter of Harry Albert and Margaret Aitken. At age 19 Jacqueline married William Millar Wilson and she had a daughter, Emma Fiona. Jacqueline went to school at Coombe Girls School in Surrey where she later went back as an old girl to talk to the pupils about her books. She knew that she wanted to be a writer from a very early age and wrote her first little book, about a family called The Maggots, when she was only nine years of age. She graduated at Carshalton Technical College. Later she worked... Read review

The Illustrated Mum, Jacqueline Wilson
Review of Illustrated Mum - Jacqueline Wilson by  Loopy_Lulu

Advantages: Really emotional, funny, really good to read
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

...Jacqueline Wilson, The Illustrated Mum I thought this book was funny, at times, and really emotional at others. It is very realistic and you can’t help by sympathize for the characters in this book. The book is about a little girl called Dolphin who adores her mother: she’s got wonderful clothes, bright hair and vivid tattoos all over her body. She definitely lives a colourful life. Dolphin’s older sister, Star, also loves her but is beginning to wonder if staying with a mum whose temper can be as flashy as her body-art is the best thing for the girls Dolphin doesn’t know her father, and Star doesn’t know hers, except that Marigold thinks Micky, Stars father was the love of her life, and Dolphins father only had the same name. All of a sudden, Marigold gets the chance to meet Stars father again, in a concert, and she... Read review

A Parent's View Of A Childrens' Book
Review of The Mum - Minder - Jacqueline Wilson by  KarenUK

Advantages: great fun, good read, lovely illustrations, excellent characters
Disadvantages: none

...NOTE : Review contains spoilers. Jacqueline Wilson is one of my children’s favourite authors (along with J. K. Rowling, of course!). Two of my children - my fourteen and twelve year old daughters - collect her books and frequently rave about them, so I thought I’d give one a try myself. I picked up The Mum-Minder and this is what I found. For starters, the cover – as is the case with all her books – is very eye-catching. It is brightly coloured with drawings of cartoon people, cute babies and smiley faces. It makes the book look a lot of fun and you can understand why kids would pick this book from the library or shop. But a good cover is nothing without a good story - so would I find one? The blurb on the back informs me that the novel is about Sadie, who is “nearly nine” and is written from her viewpoint. Her mother... Read review

Take A Good Look by Jaqueline Wilson
Review of Take A Good Look - Jacqueline Wilson by  kiaza

Advantages: an easy to follow story for younger readers
Disadvantages: weak storyline and characters

...Let me start off by saying that I was very let down by this one . As a big fan of Jacqueline Wilson, I was particularly dissapointed with this book which, compared to other and more successful books by the bestselling author, deserves no more than 4 out of 10 for readability, storyline and characters. It's hard to relate to, and easy to put down. For younger readers, and written in the 2nd person, this story is about a poor sighted nine year old girl , Mary, who decides to prove her independence by sneaking off to the corner shop for sweets, and show that she really is grown up enough to walk the simple 5 minute trip by herself. But things don't quite go as simply as she thought when she is kidnapped by scary knife... Read review

A great book
Review of Double Act - Jacqueline Wilson by  sophie5914

Advantages: A great book
Disadvantages: No sequel!

...This is probably my favourite of Jacqueline Wilson's books. It's about 10-year-old identical twins, Ruby and Garnet Barker. They're absolutely identical, and they do everything together. They are, like the title says, a Double Act. But inside, they couldn't be more different. Ruby is loud, lively and ambitious. Garnet is quiet, clever and thoughtful. But despite being total opposites in personality, they're still the best of friends. The twins' Mum died when they were young, and they live with their Dad and their Gran. But now their Dad's got a new girlfriend, Rose, and the twins don't like her one little bit. They especially don't like it when they have to move house and leave their Gran behind. Ruby is desparate to be an actress, and so when auditions come up asking for twins to star in The Twins At St. Clare's, she drags... Read review

A geat Book
Review of Girls in Love - Jacqueline Wilson by  lidd

Advantages: A really good book
Disadvantages: a bit short

...Girls in Love is the first title (followed by Girls Under Pressure) in a trilogy for older readers (young teens) by award-winning author Jacqueline Wilson. Already an immensely popular author of books for younger readers (Bad Girls, The Suitcase Kid, Double Act) with Girls in Love Jacqueline Wilson shows she's sure to be equally popular with girls in their early teens. As well as the boyfriend problem, this hilariously entertaining novel touches on the deeper pains associated with the loss of a parent and coming to terms with a new step-parent. Ellie, Magda and Nadine are determined to explore the, as yet uncharted, country of the boyfriend. When best friend Nadine gets a boyfriend, Ellie finds herself saying that she's got one too. Trouble is, he's the too young, too nerdy and too ugly boy who fell... Read review

I dare you not to read this book
Review of The Dare Game - Jacqueline Wilson by  alicemitchell

Advantages: A funny, colourful, well-written story
Disadvantages: Not as good as some of her others

...Tracy Beaker returns in the sequel to The Story of Tracy Beaker. She is now living with Cam, her foster mum, but she doesn't buy her designer clothes or live in a posh house, so Tracy gets teased at school. So... what does she do? Bunks off. She finds two friends, Alexander the wimp and Football, who play in an empty house, daring each other. Then Tracy's mum arrives on the scene, and Tracy's common sense is blown into oblivion.
