...An amazing debut album that really has put James blunt on the map! A superb collection of 10 songs which are very personal to the experiances of James Blunt. Gets better the more you listen to it. Admittedly some of Blunt's songs have been overplayed on the radio, but if chilled soft rock is your thing then this won't bother you! Brings his own unique style to the music he plays, and a voice that can't be compared to any other performers. I have found that whilst it is the first few songs on the album that grab your attention at the beginning, you soon find the later songs growing on you as much as the first few did. If it can be faulted, the last few songs are quite similar, however I'm sure that songs such as "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover" will continue to be played on the radio in years to come and go down as classics... ...Most listeners will have been drawn into James Blunt's new album Back to Bedlam by the unquestionable appeal of the bittersweet chart success 'You're Beautiful'. Draw back from the hype, however, and you'll discover that Blunt is an artist who has found lots to say and the right time to say it. The familiar tortured soul of the Romantic ego finds fresh impetus in tracks like 'Goodbye my lover' where the abrasive edges of Blunt expressive vocals only add to the overall poignancy. What is truly original here is the way that Blunt stares heartbreak in the face with such uncompromising fashion, admitting bravely (especially for a male at the beginning of the 21st century) that he cannot stop loving the girl who will never love him. ...All the lost souls is a follow up album to Jame's Blunts chart topping Back to Bedlam album. I like Jame's Blunts music and loved Back to Bedlam so I bought this album. Advantages: The vocals of James Blunt are always excellent, instrumentally the album has much to offer.
Disadvantages: Some may be put off by the mans high vocal style.

...'Back to Bedlam' is the first album from singer-songwriter James Blunt, a 2004 release consisting of ten terrific tracks. This is folk rock at its finest I feel, the former British Army Captain certainly put to record an excellent album here and constructed a fine thirty nine minutes of music. 'Back to Bedlam' was voted 'worst album of the year' by the New Musical Express magazine, what do they know though; over 2.3 million copies of the album were shifted in 2005 alone. Beginning with 'High', right from the offset the album is here hugely impressive. 'High' is without doubt one of my favourite tracks from this album, all ten of them are strong but this is one that most certainly captured my imagination right from the very first time that I heard it. ...There is much to be said about the wonderful new talent that is James Blunt. I bought this album around six weeks ago, but had heard much of it in my friends car while racing around to finish my wedding plans back in july. I purchased it from woolworths for a cool £9.77 was it money well spent, You bet your ass it was. This album is aimed at the adult side of the market as it has a warning on the cd front and back, That it contains lyrics of an adult nature. This album only came out this year so has'nt been around all that long. James is a brilliant and talented writer with excellent vocals, the acoustics on the album are out of this world. ...Whilst preparing for a 300 mile drive, I gathered together a compilation of CD's to listen to. Amongst them was 'James Blunt - Back to Bedlam'. I originally bought the CD, after I had initially been charmed by the track 'You're Beautiful'. I had listened to the album many times previously; and then became utterly sick of it. The CD sat unused and ignored for a while; the reasons why I had developed such a dislike for it had faded - which is why it was inserted into the CD player this trip and listened to from beginning to end, thus, re-igniting my passionate dislike toward it! James Blunt has a history of being in the army and protecting the queen. He's a talented fellow; playing the guitar and piano. He also writes his own lyrics for his music.
