Moulin Rouge Wows for about an hour
Review of Moulin Rouge (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
ChrisJarmick
Advantages: Imaginative, sometimes innovative, some magical moments
Disadvantages: very loud, and brash and becomes more conventional at its end.
...Moulin Rouge almost immediately reminded me of Terry Gilliam's Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1989). It's excessively loud, theatrical, full of slapstick and garish. It is however too sweet and sentimental to be down right vulgar. At times its even touchingly romantic. It has also been made by a crew of seemingly fearless film technicians who use everything they can afford to put on the screen-on the screen. You have no idea how far this film will go. The only clue is that its rated Pg-13 (in the U.S.) but it seems like it's going to push through that barrier at any moment anyway. It evokes Keystone Cop slapstick and Allan Carr's (Can't Stop the Music, Broadway's La Cage Aux Folles) excesses sometimes at the same time. It's frenetically edited like an MTV video on speed, but creates such a detailed period opulent fantasy world...

Lets put the ROUGE back into the MOULIN..........
Review of Moulin Rouge (+CD) by
mightyd
Advantages: Great singing and story line. Fab actors.
Disadvantages: Not everyone would like it because it's more of a musical
...Here's a review i wrote a while ago, i thought i'd upload it: Hope you like it!
Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge
A movie, like you have never seen before. This is a magnificent, heartrending, romantic musical, testing love to its maximum limits. The brand-spanking new Moulin Rouge is a fantastic depiction of love, presented by Fox Studios. Exclusive soundtracks accompanied by outstanding soprano and tenor vocals from Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor give a blast of excitement to this musical.
The Moulin Rouge is produced and directed by Baz Luhrmann, who is also the former director of the all - popular Shakespearian Romeo and Juliet. If Kidman dueting with McGregor isn't adequate - then how about the out of the blue cameo appearance of Kylie Minogue; singing as a green fairy? It's an all - tragic dramatic tale of romance...

Review of Christian Lacroix Rouge for Women by
just.bcoz
Advantages: smells gorgeous, great staying power, cheap
Disadvantages: available from Avon
...Christian Lacroix ~ Rouge ~ Eau De Parfum
My local Avon representative gave me a sample of Christian Lacroix Rouge perfume to sample in September last year. I fell in love with the scent of the perfume almost instantly and decided to purchase a bottle of it; I love the scent that much that I have already polished off three bottles of it and have a fourth one on the way. The fragrance was launched in September 2007 in partnership with Avon; Avon currently sell Rouge for the price of £18 for a 50ml bottle. There is also a male version available too and this is called Noir which smells just as nice as the female version.
As you can see from the picture at the top of this review the bottle of perfume is quite chunky and resembles a the shape of a tear drop and has a lovely chunky lid on top. I really like the design and colour...

Aaaaah, Moulin Rouge
Review of Moulin Rouge (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
happeninbabe
Advantages: Modern songs, great costumes, great actors/actresses.
Disadvantages: The plot wasn't that easy to follow.
...This review of Moulin Rouge was written as a project for my music class at school, which I must admit I am very proud of because I got an A and I haven’t achieved one of those in ages. It was fun writing the project as in class my friend Jenny who loves the film kept on coming up to me while I was writing and saying ‘Aaah Moulin Rouge!’ every five minutes, which got a bit annoying. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing and getting a great grade for it!
~~THE STORY~~
‘This story is about truth – this story is about beauty – above all things this story is about love.’
Christian is a young English poet who goes against his father’s wishes and moves to Monmatre, Paris. He meets the artist Toulouse – Loutrec after an actor falls through the ceiling of Christian’s apartment and ends up hanging upside down. Teaming up...

Seeing Rouge
Review of Moulin Rouge (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
peppersinclaire
Advantages: Cinema as it is meant to be - loud, colourful and moving
Disadvantages: Can be too flashy for its own good
...Ten word review: Man loves woman he’s not supposed to, all ends badly.
Sound familiar? Yes, welcome to my review of Romeo + Juliet: Special Edition, er, I mean Moulin Rouge, the new movie from Baz Luhrmann.
Comparisons to the aforementioned Shakespearean extravaganza are inevitable (the film even features a rhyming couplet or two), but this is very much a new kind of moviemaking. Taking his cue from musicals of the past and music of the present, Mr Luhrmann has created an intense mix of surreal visuals, heart breaking songs and surprising performances to make this one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve seen at the cinema in a long time.
The basic plot runs quite simply. Christian, played by Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting, A Life Less Ordinary), escapes his strict father in England to write poetry in Paris...

Go To The Moulin Rouge for Quality Entertainment
Review of Moulin Rouge (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
so3003
Advantages: Excellent film all round, particularly the music and humour
Disadvantages: Well suppose it's annoying having to pay to get in...!
...“Moulin Rouge”, starring Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, is one of the newest films out in the cinemas (well at the time of writing anyway!), although one should point out that there was an original Moulin Rouge out in the 1950s, 1953 if memory serves me correctly (?)
The film tells the story of the Moulin Rouge – the infamous Paris nightclub where the rich and influential come to play with the young and beautiful of the entertainment underworld (to paraphrase one of the lines in the film). Nicole Kidman plays the part of the star performer of the Moulin Rouge, the most beautiful of all the girls who “strut their stuff” (!) for the many male admirers who come to see them.
In order that the club can raise more money, a theatre group (including a young writer named Christian - Ewan McGregor) wants...

Lancome Juicy Tubes
Review of Lancome Juicy Tubes Lip Gloss by
cerysm
Advantages: Gorgeous flavours and colours.
Disadvantages: Most of them go on clear.
...Lancome Juicy Tubes cost around £11.50 which you may think is expensive for a lip gloss, but it is actually pretty cheap considering the amount of gloss that you get in a tube - you get 15ml.
The packaging is a clear plastic squeezable tube. When you twist off the lid, you will find a slanted plastic applicator, with a small hole in the centre. To apply the gloss, you squeeze the tube gently so that the product comes out through the hole. You can then apply the gloss to the lips straight from the tube (the slanted applicator makes this easy), or you can apply the gloss to a lipbrush and apply to your lips from that if you prefer. Personally, I find applying the gloss straight from the tube to the lips to be the easiest. The packaging is hygienic, as the tube doesn't have a wand that you have to dip in and out like some glosses have...

Juicy Tubes for Juicy Lips!
Review of Lancome Juicy Tubes Lip Gloss by
skooky
Advantages: Long Lasting, Great Tasting, Looks Amazing!
Disadvantages: Price is the only thing I can think of.
...I decided to buy Lancome Juicy Tubes when I was at the duty free shop in an aiport in America and found I had some money left over from my holidays. And what a choice it was, to this day I have not regretted buying this lipgloss. The only thing I'm worried about is what I'm going to do when it runs out!
The lipgloss that I bought was a set of three called Crazy for Pink and consisted of the colours Groseille (a pinky red), Peche (a soft pink) and Marshmallow (bright pink!) All three colours looked great on and none of them clashed with my skin tone. The gloss has a nice feeling to it, it's not too sticky but not too slippery at the same time. At the risk of sounding like something out of a fairy tale, it was just right!
The gloss comes in a good size tube which does last for quite a while, so as far as value for money goes...

A few trips 2 Cafe Rouge and u'll be in the red!
Review of Café Rouge by
ljb234
Advantages: Really nice atmosphere, good food, good service
Disadvantages: Expensive and small portions
...In Birmingham you have 2 choices if you want to sample the french delights Cafe Rouge has to offer. Recently, as the new Bullring shopping centre has been restyled and refurbished, a new Cafe Rouge has opened here. This is a great location and gives you the chance to see the bull ring by night and all lit up, which is quite pretty as far as Birmingham goes!
The second older Cafe Rouge in Birmingham is located in Brindley Place, another prime location right beside the Birmingham and Worcester canal near Broad Street. Broad Street boasts a long stretch of bars, clubs, restaurants and other venues, so is a good place to go if you want to go out after.
In both places the food quality and service is very similar so don't let that be a determining factor when chosing which one to visit. The food is delicious...

You need CoROUGE to watch this
Review of Moulin Rouge (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
Simoncook1
Advantages: Very good performances from Ewan and Nicole
Disadvantages: A little to fast to start with
...Moulin Rouge is surprising to say the least; it takes risks that immediately open it up to criticism, supplying stunning visuals, flamboyant melodies and excessiveness that borders on the dangerous. It is designed to be head turning, and at times with its dizzying speed it seems foolish, almost ludicrous as we almost fall into the kaleidoscope that is Moulin Rouge.
Set in Paris during the turn of the century, we enter the sordid nightlife of the Moulin Rouge, an almost surreal experience that combines imagery and eroticism to provide an opulent experience for the willing audience. Ostentatious performances abound as we are treated to a stimulating vision of Can-Can style dancing mixed with modern routines.
Nicole Kidman stars as Satine, a lady of the night who dreams of stardom and fame. We first meet her during a long and frantic...
