Advantages: Classic western, great cast, good plot, some powerful performances.
Disadvantages: Black and white, but it does fit with the film.

..., despite the age difference between him and Grace Kelly, their relationship stands up on screen. High Noon has performances from younger actors who went on to more significant roles. Lloyd Bridges plays the cowardly Deputy. The cast also includes Lee Van Cleef and Lon Chaney Junior. Helen Ramirez plays a female friend of Will. Her character, Katy, does not have the whiter than white character of Amy but has a lot of heart. What I love about this film is it's simplicity, innocence and it's relevance, even today. It has won many awards over the years and is widely recognized as the Classic that it is. The cowardly town gets what it deserves in the end and love conquers all, including firm beliefs. From the moment the hypnotic theme tune starts up there is no doubt what film is about to be shown and that the viewer is in for a treat... Read review

...This game is mainly for the junior side of the family. The idea is the exactly the same as the adult version of pictionary except that the drawings that they need to re draw are easier to comprehend and also to draw becuase it is designed at a younger generration. I liked this gmae but now I am to old to join in with the youngsters so I have moved on to adult pictionary. So all in all I recommend that you get this game for your kids or for your friends if you are into colouring and team playing.... Read review

...LAKE PLACID ... doom laden, atmospheric chilling masterpiece of a title ... exciting, scary, gripping epic of a trailer ... disappointing, lightweight, unsure flop of a movie.... I recently went to Stafford to stay the evening with Mrs D and the dave27-ettes at her cousins, the De Bovaries, and I knew they would be off on Reminiscence City and that there would be a riot of noise and colour as the dave27-ettes tangled with the Junior De Bovaries, so I wasn't looking forward too much to the evening as I normally get VERY BORED at these family gatherings. Then Lewis persuaded Wesley De Bovary to let him watch their video of the said 'scary movie' and so I settled down with an expectant hush (which is more than they with the attention span of a goldfish managed).... Advantages: Fine score, brilliant cinematography, goof performances.
Disadvantages: A few odd choreographic moments.

...'sensibly' cast and portray their roles well: Walter Mathau is brilliantly irascible as Horace Vandergelder, and Michael Crawford is (unsurprisingly) incredibly funny in the junior romantic role of Cornelius Haekl. Even odder than the choice of leading lady is the casting of Louis Armstrong, who shows up as a band leader to duet with Streisand on a portion of the title song. This is a truly bizarre moment which is quite pointless, but welcome nevertheless (who could fail to welcome any contribution by Armstrong?). The score of Hello, Dolly! was never one of my favourites, partly because of Carol Channing, whose voice I despise, who heads up the original Broadway cast recording, and various others since. However, now that I've seen the musical both on stage and on screen with considerably less 'growly' leading ladies, I can appreciate it far... Read review

...Michelle, Kelli, Tony, Jessica and Kevin are the five members of Liberty X. You may have seen them on the first series of Popstars, when Hearsay were picked instead of these guys. Those judges were rubbish, they picked the wrong five but if that hadn’t happened maybe Liberty X wouldn’t be so popular. No wonder ‘nasty’ Nigel wasn’t asked back for pop idol or Popstars the rivals!! The other memorable judge was Nicky Chapman, who is now managing the S club embryos (juniors to you) . I have got the limited edition of the album, which has a bonus CD. The extra CD is basically loads of mixes of the original tracks, nothing special but it’s free after all. ...Those of you who are 'fortunate' enough to have sampled the rich Irish brogue of former Leeds United boss David O'Leary and sometime Elland Road left back Ian Harte, will recognise that often, despite the predominance of English speakers at the club, the crack at Elland Road is as impenetrable and obscure as Irish broth. However, the accents of O'Leary and Harte are as clear as the received English of a BBC announcer of the Fifties when set against the chat of Harte's uncle, the stereotypically befuddled Gary Kelly.
