K-9 DVD
Review of K-9 DVD by  Hsaxo

Advantages: Good film, storyline an enjoyable movie
Disadvantages: not suitable for under 12s

...K-9 DVD I personally own this DVD being a dog fan I love it, any dog lover especially those that are particular fans of German Shepard Dogs (Alsatian) should love it too. I have seen both this one and sequel to this K-9 11 and I have found this one to be better by far. This film is produced by Universal, directed by Rod Daniel and written by Steven Seigel and Scott Myers. This film was first produced in October 1989 The Cast The main actors within the film *James Belushi, plays Dooley a cop working to solve drug crime but not succeeding very well on his own. *Mel Harris, plays Tracey she is Dooley's girlfriend who gets left with little attention whilst her partner spends all his time and commitment fighting crime Koton, plays Jerry-Lee a German Shepard Dog trained in police work who soon becomes Dooley's partner, Koton... "One Day, I shall come back......"
Review of Doctor Who - The Five Doctors DVD by  sghawken

Advantages: A nice piece, which could prove important for new fans of the show.
Disadvantages: Overpriced for a DVD released 6 years ago.

...), Richard Franklin (Captain Mike Yates), John Leeson (K9), Richard Mathews (Rassilon), David Banks (Cyber Leader), Mark Hardy (Cyber Lieutenant), David Savile (Crichton), Roy Skelton (Dalek Voice), John Scott Martin (Dalek Operator), Stuart Blake (Commander), Stephen Meredith (Technician), Ray Float (Sergeant), John Tallents (Guard), William Kenton (Cyber Scout), Keith Hodiak (Raston Robot) Special Features ------------------------ There is little to talk about in respect of Special Features, The Five Doctors was one of the first Doctor Who stories to be given the DVD treatment, back at a time when only few DVDs had additional material. That being said, there are alternative versions of scenes, and some new CGI animations to add pizzazz to the story. And an isolated music score allowing you to hear an uninterrupted soundtrack if you... Read review

Good Bye Sarah Jane Smith!
Review of Doctor Who - The Hand Of Fear DVD by  TheDoctor13

Advantages: Brilliant story, and informative documantrary.
Disadvantages: The documantary goes off topic.

...After seeing the return of Sarah Jane Smith in the new series episode “School Return”, I was compelled to watch Sarah Jane’s last performance as a permanent companion (she reappeared in the cameo driven story “The Five Doctors”, and Spin-Off show “K-9 and Company”), luckily for me the story was released soon after the “School Reunion” was aired (the makers swear it was pure coincidence), it was a good investment. The story is fantastic, it centres mainly around Sarah Jane, rather then the Doctor, and Elizabeth Sladen does her character justice in her final story, written by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. The costume for the main antagonist Eldrad, is outstanding, considering that Doctor Who during this time wasn’t known for its believable aliens. I was under the naïve impression that it was only the new series which handled the drama... Read review

Going out with a bang
Review of Doctor Who - Survival (Two Discs) by  TheDoctor13

Advantages: Brilliant story and special features
Disadvantages: None

...evil laughter! Not only does this have a fantastic story, but the two disc set is bursting with special features, these are: •A commentary by Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred and Andrew Cartmel - which is entertaining and insightful as usual. There is also a fan commentary on episode 3, which is very interesting to listen to, as it shows other fans’ views on a Doctor Who episode. •Cat Flap- one of the best documentaries on a DVD, that is split between the two discs, discussing the making of Survival •Endgame- this is my favourite special feature, it is a documentary going into why Doctor Who was cancelled, and what they would have done in the next series. •Search Out Science- clips from a schools programme featuring the Doctor, Ace and K-9, not that great. •Little Girl Lost- another documentary, but this time talking about Ace, probably one... MSI K9VGM-V AM2 Motherboard Review from a Retailer
Review of MSI K9VGM-V - motherboard - micro ATX - K8M890 by  www.ishift.co.uk

Advantages: Reliable, Good Online Support/Updates, Affordable, Good Layout
Disadvantages: Only two SATA controllers, Sound & Graphics could be better

...We have stocked this MSI K9VGM-V motherboard for over 3 months now. And, to its credit, considering it's more of a budget board, we haven't had one failure with them. Considering the number we sell, that is very good! Good Points: Reliable Motherboard, Nicely laid out for keeping the inside of the PC clear of trailing cables, Cheap to buy, Simple BIOS & MSI offer what is called a 'Live Update' for its motherboards which works much better than some other manufacturers. Bad Point: Only two SATA controllers onboard, Onboard Sound & Graphics not quite as good as those offered by its competitors in the same catergory. All in all we'd say that this board is great for system builders who are putting together a home/budget type package but is probably unsuitable for the more adventurous computer user.... Read review

New New Doctor Who
Review of Doctor Who - Series 2 Vol.2 DVD by  ElapsedSpiral

Advantages: Addictive watching, fast paced show with a good sense of humour
Disadvantages: Weak plots, poor choice of "baddies"

...of The Doctor, Rose, Sarah Jane Smith and K9 against a blue background, with the new Doctor Who logo at the top of the case. As with the other cases used so far for the new series, it is bright and appealing. The same picture is printed on the disc itself. Sadly, the series 2 volumes also lack any DVD extras. Overview 2005 saw Doctor Who relaunch with an impressive first series, and Series 2, Volume 1 provided a solid start to the 10th Doctor's reign, but the same can't be said for Volume 2, where the show has slowed down to an awkward halt. Series 2 still contains the successful elements of the first series: the dialogue is still the best aspect of the show and makes Doctor Who very watchable and entertaining TV, there is great camera work and special effects, the actors are all well cast and work exceptionally well together, but in spite... K9 for Canine Lovers
Review of K9 by  Minha

Advantages: Interesting articles
Disadvantages: not readily available

...K9 Magazine was launched in 2001. It is a quarterly magazine for dog lovers and, unlike a lot of other publications of the same kind, is not aimed mainly at the ‘expert’ dog owner and breeder but at all owners and lovers of dogs. It’s not a magazine that is readily available at all newsagents and probably most readers subscribe directly. However, it IS sold through some newsagents, though according to the editor, Ryan O’Meara, the larger chains are not involved probably because this is a quarterly publication. They are an independent publishers and not part of a large chain as in so many cases. The magazine was recommended to me by a friend who knew of my interest in magnotherapy, as issue no 10 covered this in some detail – including an article about the editor’s own dog. Having had difficulty finding the magazine, I emailed... Read review

You & I Know Rose, The Doctors Worth The Monsters
Review of Doctor Who - Series 2 Vol.2 DVD by  sghawken

Advantages: An excellent middle story
Disadvantages: School Reunion is just too short

...scary role to date "You'll Burn Dog" he screams at one point. The dog in question is none other than the Doctors pet robot dog K9 from the late 70's era of Doctor Who; K9 voiced again by John Leeson as he was during the 70's turns up with another in toe. For older Doctor Who fans the return of Sarah Jane Smith will put a exciting shiver down their spine; in the 70's Sarah Jane was seen as the ultimate assistant. And 30 years after her first appearance in the show fans voted her the best companion. It seemed only fair to the producers of the show to bring her back. The story is fantastic, it's 45 minute slot is far too short and its over in a blink of an eye. The special effects guys were on the ball again for this story, making some truly devilish winged creatures. The music picked for the episode is lovely; it gives a hint of things past... Read review

Doctor Who Classic
Review of Doctor Who - The Five Doctors DVD by  pjm123

Advantages: Classic
Disadvantages: DVD could be better

...', the Fourth Doctor and Romana are freed, and the Fifth Doctor is asked to remain on Gallifrey to become the new President. He Declines, and gives all responsibility to Chancellor Flavia, as he wishes to stay in his old, blue battered type 40 Police Box. The first thing I noticed straight away on 'The Five Doctors,' is the new, fantastic control room. There are new circle walls in the TARDIS, and a fantastic new console, which is 20 times better than the last one, this one having a more realistic scenes to a space - ship, with more buttons and levers, and even three screens connected on the console. I also thought it was nice to see old friends, i.e, The Second Doctor, and the Third Doctor, K.9 and the Brigadier. There were some rather poor performances from Susan, who used to play a 15 year old girl, now playing a woman around 35 (but looks... Read review

Limited service
Review of Orange by  butler_sophie

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Its not the internet

...There is a great big misunderstanding, largely due to the media campaign to promote the WAP facility as that of internet access, its simply not. Its a text information service and is no way nearly as useful as the implimentation of GPRS (Global Packet Radio Service) will be next year and bluetooth technology. Oranges information on the WAP facility has grown in recent months, however you are paying 10p per minute to connect to something that is available for free usually at work or at home or even via the TV or library. The current connection to the information is around 15k or 9.9k so its no where near as fast as your 58k modem. It is simply a marketing ploy to increase sales volume. To get more information about the services available on WAP, it might be helpful for you too look at www.orange.net or yourmobile.com are speedy... Read review
