The Kia Sedona is a nice car but...
Review of KIA Sedona by
stuleg
Advantages: Good Fuel Economy, Interesting Looks
Disadvantages: Poor Turning Circle, Noisey Engine
...Having a family of 4 as well as 3 Boisterous Labradors I was looking for a car with Space and Style that would not need Refuelling twice a week. I looked at various people carriers before deciding on a Kia Sedona, Mainly because I had never heard of Kia. The Salesman was well informed and seemed to have a genuine passion when selling the finer points of the car, which is always encouraging. But did I want a Kia Sedona? My nearest Kia garage was, at that time, some 40 miles away. A long way to go if something relatively minor goes wrong. As part of my decision making process I apprehended a Gentleman in the railway station car park as he was getting into his Kia Sedona. He was generally pleased with his car and was even happier with the money he had saved compared to other, better known but more expensive People carriers. So I decided...

Well done Kia
Review of KIA Sedona by
shugardream
Advantages: loads of room
Disadvantages: none
...Having 5 children we needed some thing a bit bigger than the rover we had. We started to look around and visit web sites for a people carrier. We also looked at the ones that we passed on the road and saw the Kia Sedona. It looked very spacious, a nice smooth curvy body.
We went to our local Kia dealers and had a look at the different models of Sedona they had. We didn’t want a second hand one in case anything happened to it we would not of had a fall back plan. We looked at the Kia Sedona SX and decided that this was the one for our family and us.
We could fold all the back seats down and push them forward and have a large backspace if we needed it, also when the seats were upright and pushed forward there was quite a lot of space in the boot department, which we were surprised about.
The engine is beautiful and runs really smooth...

Family, finance friendly MPV.
Review of KIA Sedona by
kirstytwin
Advantages: Sliding doors, seat configuration of 2:2:3, relatively cheap, good boot space.
Disadvantages: having to take out the radio/cd player each night.
...After having twins and our no of children jumping from 2 to 4, we decided, finances willing that we needed a bigger car.
Various needs were to be addressed, boot size, will it fit a double buggy AND shopping. Ease of getting two small children into the car as well as two older ones. ease of opening doors in small carpark spaces. Comfortable to drive and feel safe.
Looking around we narrowed our search to the Kia Sedona and the Chyrslar Voyager. for roughly the same cost of a basic Voyager we could get a top of the range Sedona, which had bigger boot space, leather seats and the most important for keeping the children quiet on journeys, a DVD and Video player. In total after adding on Fog lights and side steps our new family car cost just about £22000, May 2003.
Now the children love going out in Mummy's car, not just for the incar...

People carrier ownwer Why not try a Sedona Updated
Review of KIA Sedona by
di-buzz
Advantages: Cheaper than the average people carrier and has nice touches like the multi position seats and plush upholstery.
Disadvantages: The fit and finish is not perfect in places and some peole may worry about Kia being an unknown make.
...We recently bought a Kia Sedona S with a 2.5 V6 engine. Overall we are very impressed. The seven seats are extremely versatile and although they cannot be completely removed they can be folded and pushed to the front. The two centre seats can be rotated to face the rear and there are lap belts to use in this position. They also all recline, even the rear bench seat. There are various positions for the seats so you could have more luggage room if needed and there is plenty of leg room.
The list price for this car is £13995 which is a lot cheaper than equivalent people carriers from other countries. We also found a garage doing a limited special offer of £10995 with any part ex.
The driving position is high, more like a van than a car but personally I like it as you can see more at road junctions. Some people though may be put off...

Kia Sedona CRDi 2.9 LE
Review of KIA Sedona by
Wyvernsian
Advantages: Spacious, powerful, good value, comfortable, easy to drive, great for going on holiday or moving things
Disadvantages: Difficult to park, large turning circle
...'m concerned it is a minor issue.
In short, I love my Kia Sedona. I will drive it until it starts to cost me too much in repairs etc, and then I will most likely buy another one!...

100,000 miles in a Kia Sportage
Review of KIA Sportage 2.0 by
eggman2
Advantages: Good Turning Circle, economy, reliability
Disadvantages: Low torque engine, short weelbase gives choppy ride
...need to stir up the gearbox when the hills get steep (not a problem solo). On the way back from Spain there is a very long, very steep climb over the French Border, the speed dropped to 30mph but the car dug in its heels and made it up with no hint of over heating.
The only thing I would change if I could would be the petrol engine, a turbo-diesel would have been nicer for towing, it is revvy and not full of torque but it is reliable.
I am now looking to buy a Kia Sedona 2.9TD as this will make towing easier but I am hanging on to the Sportage and hope to write another review at 200,000 miles!...

Kia Sedona CRDi LE 2.9 Auto - 2004 (54) 3700 miles
Review of KIA Sedona by
35lowergate
Advantages: Huge, Comfortable, Looks great, Solid, Sliding doors, value for money
Disadvantages: Turning circle, narrow rear bench, more cubby holes needed.
...I bought this car to replace my rather disapointing Galaxy.
We've only had it a week and so far, so good. It excells in almost every requirment that we had for a seven seater.
The only drawback it has compared to the Galaxy is whereas the Galaxy had seven full size seats the Sedona has a rear three seater bench which although comfortable, offers less space than the galaxy - but we realised this when we looked it over before purchase and have adapted to it.
You can just fit in three fixed child seats with a bit of tinkering.
Comfort - Our model is the LE. Great, nice soft seats which provide great support and hold you well around corners. Front drivers seat has eight positioning controls on it so you can acheive your ideal position.
Front passenger seat equally good as are the two middle arm chair style seats which the kids love...

Kia = Happy Journeys....
Review of KIA Sedona by
frugalfox
Advantages: Very well priced
Disadvantages: 'Unknown' name - for all you brand 'snobs'!
...We purchased our 2.9 CRDi Kia Sedona in May this year. Why, oh why did we not do it sooner.
How many journeys did we endure with the tedious whining of "Are we nearly there yet?" " How much further?" "Mum, he/she/its hitting me...?" - if you have children you know the sentences...
We've just come back from a camping holiday in the UK that involved a 3.5 hr journey, and I can not wait to go to France involving a 10 hr journey in 10 days time, yes, I can not wait to do such a long journey, with our children. I never thought I'd say that, but...
With air conditioning, comfy seats, a high ride position, and in-car DVD system (with infa-red headphones, so we can have our own music at the front), journeys are a doddle.
The car itself is a big beastie, and maybe its turning circle is on the large side... however, we live in a street...
