...I first met Kiki Dee about 7 years ago, at a concert in London. I have been very fortunate to have met her several times since along with her musical partner Carmelo Luggeri. To be honest, if someone said Kiki Dee to me I used to think of her as a one hit wonder with 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart', that classic Elton John collaboration. But since meeting her I have been introduced to a wide range of music that she has been involved with since her big hit. 'Where Rivers Meet' is the second album by Kiki and Carmelo, The first being 'Almost Naked', and the latest album 'The Walk of Faith'. 'Where Rivers Meet' is definitely not what I would have imagined Kiki Dee to be into. I’m afraid I am a sucker for the slower songs and particularly enjoy the renditions of ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Can you feel the love tonight’. ‘Your song’ in company with Ronan Keating is excellent. It is also wonderful to hear Kiki Dee in harness with Elton again singing ‘Don’t go breaking my heart’ This is a ‘live’ recording, which may put some people off. Whilst it may be true that the quality will never be as good as a studio recording I usually prefer a good live album. I believe music is intended to be performed live and the quality of this recording is good enough to almost make you believe you are in the audience. ...of Elton's best and most recognizable songs, all these rightly appear on the first disc. "Island Girl" is a lightweight song that is not well remembered, but was included because it hit number one on the charts! The second disc starts off with Elton's number one song with Kiki Dee, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." It's great to have "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" and "Circle Of Life" from the Lion King, as well as "Written In The Stars" The second disc closes out on a strong note with the two best songs from Elton's last album, namely "I Want Love" and "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore." The bonus material on Disc 3 is certainly a little nice touch and saves us from Kiki Dee being his only duet partner on the album. Again, if all you want are the hits, this will suffice. Seeing as it was Halloween last night, what better film to review than Kiki's Delivery Service, first released in 1989 (and the fifth of the Studio Ghibli releases) & directed by the Dappa Don that is Miyazaki. ~The Plot~ Kiki is a young witch who is approaching her 13th birthday. Now it is tradition that every young witch has to leave home at the age of 13 and establish herself in a town or village where there are no other witches, the reasoning is that witches are now very rare and their powers are very weak, and by spreading themselves out it ensures the survival of their species. ...Charlie Brooks Before and After Work Out DVD Most people will know Charlie Brooks for her character Jeanine Butcher in Eastenders a few years back, since then she has had various roles in other drams but in 2005 after the birth of her daughter Kiki, she released this before and after workout DVD. I have never been one for these sorts of DVD and have always thought it better to head off down the gym. After seeing so much about this DVD and Charlie Brook's appearance after having done the workout for a few months was quite impressive and this is why I bought it all those years ago. I think I did the workout around 3 or 4 times when I first bought it and since then it has been collecting dust in the DVD cabinet. However after having put on so much weight with Jack during pregnancy and trying, very unsuccessfully to shift this weight... Read review

Among the songs listed are the duets with Kiki Dee (dont go breaking my heart and True Love), Leanne Rimes (Written in the Stars), Blue (Sorry seems to be the hardest word), George Michael (dont let the sun go down on me) and Luciano Pavarotti (Live like horses). Among my favourites are Candle in the Wind, The one, and Something about the way you look tonight. The album makes great background music when having a get together with friends as it has all the sing along classics like Crocodile Rock and Are you ready for Love but it is also is great for the romantic among us with Your song and The one. ...Of the many "coming of age" stories, this is one of the sweeter looks at what it takes to become an adult. Kiki is a young witch who, upon turning 13, must leave home to find her place in the world. Her only talent is flying - in fact, while the main character is a witch, there is nothing beyond flying a broom that pertains to magic or the occult. Well, there is Jiji, the talking cat, but while he starts out as that "little voice in your head", he later acts like a normal cat (basically eating, sleeping, and reproduction) Her search for a place to start brings her to a city that looks like San Fransisco, with its cablecars and hills, but with narrow, cobblestone streets, Italian belltower and Mediterranean-blue seas.
