...Arthur The seeing stone is the first book in the Arthur trilogy. Trying I will try to explain the book as best I can but the plot is fairly complicated basically Merlin gives Arthur, a teenage boy who lived 800 years ago a seeing stone which shows him the life and key moments of King Arthur, the on from the stories and legends we all know and how he becomes king of England and the problems he faces. Arthur (the teenage boy) can also see King Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table and Guinevere, his Queen. Kevin Crossely-Holland has cleverly written the book in diary form. This allows us to read what the teenage Arthur is thinking and how he feels about certain events. The book is exactly 100 chapters long with each chapter being quite short at only three or four pages long, this make for easy reading in spare time or when reading in larger... Read review

...There are quite a few films based on the story of King Arthur some of them more informative than entertaining and i think this has changed the round table. I saw this opening night at the Odeon in Beckenham near where i live, I’d seen so many posters, TV ads and cinema trailers that it had to be seen, i went with a couple of my mates and we all really enjoyed it, well one fell asleep but that’s coz he's just come off holiday so don't think it's boring because it's defiantly not. I really enjoyed it the battles were great and there was some great acting all round which all equalled a great movie. King Arthur is the story of young boy who is chosen to be king in an unusual way, for people who do not know the story, England are in need of a new king and the only the true king of England can pull out a sword called Excalibur out... ...Someone said, 'Throw away the history books, Jerry Bruckheimer's in town', and it is true, Bruckheimer is well known for being an over the top producer. Antoine Fuqua and Jerry Bruckheimer get to grips with telling the untold true story that inspired the legend. ok, King Arthur is not proven to be history anyway, but a legend it certainly is, and this is the stuff of legends are made of: Lancelot and Guinevere, Gawain and Galahad, Knights in shining armour, complete with magical sword and the Holy Grail, and using Ireland for the England sets and locations. You certainly won't get the most authentic story from this movie. Hey! this is Hollywood, remember? The legend of King Arthur is one of Britain's greatest myths, and the movie is supposedly based on archeological evidence concerning the real nature of King Arthur during the time... Read review

...This is a King Arthur you have probably never before contemplated - taken by the Romans to serve a 15 year term as a soldier when he was a mere lad. After this opening the action and story starts with Arthur ( Clive Owen) and his band of Knights ( taken to serve as he was) returning home on the last day of their 15 years service. They are all battle weary and looking forward to their ongoing lives. Arthur himseld intends returning to live in Rome which he cosiders to be the centre of the civilised world, and where his mentor lives. He believes that all men are born free and none are born into serfdom, teachings handed down to him by his mentor and which are to be at the heart of the major action of the film. ...This is the last book in Bernard Cornwell’s very good trilogy on Arthur, King of the Britons, struggle against the Saxons, against his enemies and against his friends. The whole series really is absolutely fantastic and this book is nothing less. I would say that the series (known as the Warlord Chronicles) is even better than Cornwell’s acclaimed Sharpe series.
