BOOTS ADVANTAGE CARD
Review of Boots Advantage Card by
lyndsey74
Advantages: lovely treats for me
Disadvantages: nothing
...Boots Advantage Card
I have had my Boots Advantage Card for years. I think over 5 years. I love it. I buy all my families toiletries from Boots and collect the points. It is really easy to do. Just get your card from the store and whenever you buy something give the check out lady your card. If your like me and change your handbag every other week and forget your card just ask them to validate your receipt and then you have 31 days to take the receipt in and get it added to your total. Each time you add to the card the check out lady tells you how many points you have and basically if you have 500 points that means you have £5.00, you don't have to be Carol Vorderman to work it out!! They also send you some vouchers through the post for extra Advantage Points and money off goods in store. It's an excellent way to save up a bit...

The boots are available in brown or black, mine are black. They are constructed from waterproof leather, almost with the appearance of moleskin. The sole is vibram whatever that is, it is a thick rubber type sole offering good grip. The boots have a long zip at the back which is easy to undo and do up. It also has an adjustable fastening above the zip. The calf has an elasticated insert making it suitable for a variety of calf fittings, especially medium to wide.
Harry Hall Faro Boots cost around £84...

Review of Boots Advantage Card by
Anna145
Advantages: lots of rewards

...The boots advantage card was released a few years ago when the safeway ABC card, WH Simth clubcard etc came about. It was the new in thing and it caught on very fast. The offer seemed so enticing. Getting extra money for spending money! BRILLIANT!
As soon as my advantage card came through the post i rushed off down to boots! My card came just before Christmas so yes you have guessed it most of my shopping was done at boots! Over the Year my points have gone up and up and have got myself some nice presents, these are : a phillips lady shave, a nicky clarke hair dryer and some hair straightners so I havenet done too badly at all!
If you haven`t got a boots advatage card get one! You can pick up an application form from any boots. for every item you purchase from boots(excluding vitamins and medicinal goods) you get four points...

Oh Boots where art thou?
Review of Everything that starts with B ... by
Comfortably_Numb75
Advantages: If there is one, please tell me!
Disadvantages: 101 ways to feel like a moose.
...Ok, this is one for the ladies who will understand my bone of contention, sorry guys!
Most women are lovers of shoes, have plenty of pairs (just watch sex and the city, it'll tell you how important footwear is to a woman), well for me, shoes has never really been the thing, I have 1 pair of trainers and 2 pairs of shoes, much to the horror of female colleagues. But BOOTS!! now thats a different thing altogether. I find it absolutely impossible to walk past a shop with a display of boots, its like a kid walking past the sweetie counter or the pick and mix section. Impossible!!!
I have boots of all descriptions. The mandatory black knee highs, New Rock boots (the gothic ones with steel sections on the heels), Cowboy Boots ( a treat when I was in Dublin, theyre hand embroidered, red leather boots, beautiful), ankle high red...

What can you get for £30?
Review of Harry Hall Stylo Start Ladies Boots by
hhuk
Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: not too sure about the fit / design
...Harry Hall took over making the stylo boots a few years ago and have re-developed them. due to convienience of leaving my boots at the yard and currently being at equine college i have these boots as my main riding wear due to lots of walking around. Prior to harry hall taking over, i used to have the stylo start. The lining has changed for the better ro a more cushioned absorbant design and for around £30 you cant expect perfection. I have quite a wide foot so i wanted the wide fitting and at the shop i tried they gave me wide calf and said this was all they had so i am not sure if wide feet are available. I ended up getting a standard because the wide was ridiculous. I am 5ft 10 and have quite long(ish) calves but the back of these boots catches the back of my knees when riding. i have great difficulty jumping in them...

Girls can play football too you know!
Review of Adidas F50 by
princess7581
Advantages: Style and comfort
Disadvantages: price
...Before i start yes i am a girl and you may be wondering why i am not commenting on a nice pair of kitten heels, but come sundays i need a good pair of boots that ensures i can put the ball into the back of the net, yes us ladies can play football too you know!!
Adidas F50's were recomended to me by a team mate who describes them as like wearing slippers (yes i know quite a girly comment), i tend to disagree with her as yes they are the most comfty boots i have ever owned but my feet do feel supported unlike when wearing my slippers!!
These boots offer a nice smooth finish with a tounge that covers the whole of the laces, not only i have i found this to enhance performance but also saves on cleaning time!!. It is also nice to have a boot that comes in either blades or studs.
The adidas F50's look stylish and are offered in a range...

I'm a Boots junkie!
Review of Boots Boots by
Oblivia
Advantages: Advantage card, sells a good variety of products, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Can be expensive
...I did all my shopping at Superdrug, until a friend dragged me to Boots. I saw that they had loads more stuff and that you could earn points as you spend. That was it, and I've been a loyal Boots customer ever since!
I get all my toiletries from Boots and I go about once a week. I just love checking out what's on offer and bagging a bargain. In the past few weeks I've been starting to use Boots own brand products, and I have to say, they're great! I actually find that some products are better than more expensive brands! Boots have several of their own ranges including make-up brands 17 and No 7, skin care ranges Basics, Botanics and Complete Care and a decent range of 'economy type' products that are really cheap. They have an extensive baby care and clothing range and also sell swimwear, hosiery and accessories.
The staff are polite...

GREAT FASHION FOR THE LARGER LADY
Review of Evans (Shop) by
zeebra
Advantages: Loads of nice clothes for the larger lady
Disadvantages: Some clothes can be a little on the pricey side
...I have been overweight now for about six years, and I had got to the point where I was a size 22/24, in the past it was terrible having to buy larger clothes and a lot of clothes stores, especially the modern clothing chains do not cater for larger ladies, unless you were a size 10-12 buying clothes was an absolute nightmare.
At one point Evans in the highstreet was a little on the OAP Side, a lot of clothes were designed for the more mature woman, but the past couple of years, they have started catering for every age group, they have funky styles for the younger person, and classier clothes for the more mature woman.
They have quite a good selection of clothes, and keep up with the latest styles, they also have a website www.evans.co.uk so if you dont have the chance to get to the shops, or dont have one in your area, you can purchase...

Very disappointing
Review of Kays by
LouisaNott
Advantages: Cheap clothes, well laid out catalogue
Disadvantages: Poor ordering system, rude employees
...'d just had a new delivery of these boots, the lady told me that there would be no need to ring back and check that the boots were on their way, and that I'd have them by Tuesday.
So I waited until Tuesday afternoon, and no boots. I needed to pop out, so I rang KAys to check that I was staying in for a reason. It'd be OK for the boots to be delivered the following day, but I wanted to know if I was likely to miss them.
The lady was rather rude to me, and said that I needed a reference number, which I wasn't given on Thursday when I first ordered them, and tried to put me through to someone else, who prompty cut me off.
So I rang back. Someone took my name and addres details, and confirmed that NO ORDER had been placed for me. Apparently as the system goes down at 10pm, and I rang at 10.30pm, on the 24 HOUR ORDER LINE, my order was hand...

Excellent for Man U haters
Review of There's Only One Jimmy Grimble DVD by
stinky2
Advantages: Happy ending, easy viewing
Disadvantages: Totally predictable plot
...I have just hired the film "There's only one Jimmy Grimble" and I must say that I had a very enjoyable evening. It's light-hearted and a bit on the predictable side but all in all makes pleasant viewing.
Jimmy Grimble is a small kid who supports Man City and gets regularly bullied by the bigger school kids who just happen to be Man Utd fans. He and his mum live in a council flat and football is Jimmy's life.
One day when he is trying to escape his bullies he meets this mad old lady (who is very witch-like) and she gives him a pair of "magic football boots". The bullies steal Jimmy's football boots so he is forced to use the one's that the old lady gave him which have surprising results.
Jimmy decides to try out for the School football team which has a very apathetic coach (played by Robert Carlyle). The reason for the coach...
