Lichfield Cherokee Tunnel 2 Tent
Review of Lichfield Cherokee 2 Tent by
north_north_west
Advantages: value for money, ease of erecting, space, ventilation, weight
Disadvantages: ventilation, mine leaked
...I bought this tent from a discount online store.
This is a tunnel tent and relies entirely on being properly pegged to stay erect but once it's pitched I found it more stable in the wind than any dome. On my own I can have it up in 5 minutes.
The living area is almost the same size as the inner tent and big enough to kneel up in. The tent comfortably sleeps 2 adults and accomodates 2 adults and a small child. The living area sets it apart from any dome tent especially for camping in the UK where the weather is so unpredictable. You could easily cook and spend a few hours in there without feeling uncomfortable!
It's also good for cycling as bikes and luggage can be stored in the front and it only weighs 4.2kg which is a good bit less than similar makes.
Inner tent has a lot of vents; good for summer but if it's cold take...

Tent - ative about camping? Don't Be!!
Review of Lichfield Madrid 5DLX Tunnel Tent by
josarah
Advantages: Easy to erect, large, simple construction
Disadvantages: Heavy to Carry
...up, you startle awake and begin to worry, did you peg everything in? Will the tent stand up to the weather? You didn't. It doesn't, and the following morning the tent is in the bin, you're on your way to an expensive hotel booked at very short notice and the violent act occurred on the second day of the holiday.
Having spoken to a few of my friends I have come to the realisation that these incidents actually do happen. Fortunately they have never happened to me (although it was a close run thing with the barbeque). Perhaps I am a calm kind of person (although I do tend to be right most of the time) or maybe we just have a fabulous tent that is easy to put up, take down and is sturdy and dry in all types of weather.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce to you the Lichfield Madrid 5DLX…….
SHAPE
The Madrid is what...

Lichfield, Wonderful place
Review of Lichfield (England) by
chris-greenfield
Advantages: great tourist spot, good shops, lots of attractions
Disadvantages: no cinema, bownling alley or teenagers area
...i live in Lichfield and have lived here all my life, its a pleasant place to live with many tourist attractions. Some good shops and places to eat and drink.
Lichfield is situated in the centre of England near small cities such as Tamworth, Sutton and the closest big city is Birmingham. Birmingham is around a half an hour car journey away from Lichfield. Also you could catch a train to get to Birmingham from one of two stations in Lichfield, (Trent Valley and City). Lichfield city centre is a nice area with many shops for all ages, shops for kids like Woolworths, early learning centre, WHSmiths. Shops for sports like JD, Alpha sports, gilesports . Shops for girls like Claire's, new look. There are many places to eat as well including a McDonalds and subway and plenty of cafes. there are a cast majority of take-aways including Chinese...

Vango's Erections
Review of Vango TBS Equinox 600 Tunnel Tent by
sdwill
Advantages: Lightweight, spacious, well made
Disadvantages: fiddly to put up
...that was acquired in 1963 by the parent company Andrew Mitchell & Co Ltd. Their history goes back a lot further and details can be found on the Vango website amg-outdoor.co.uk/vango/index.html . Anyway, their ‘signature’ tent, the Vango Force Ten was first manufactured in 1967 in that distinctive bright orange colour. It is still a best selling model favoured by expeditions due to its stability and strength. Incidentally the Andrew Mitchell Group also owns another well-known tent brand – Lichfield.
The TBS Equinox 600 is a new design for 2002. It is a tunnel tent that is 180cm high at its highest point, 320cm wide at its widest point and 560cm long. It has a sleeping compartment that is about 2m x 3.5m in area and a good-sized living space roughly 3.5m x 3.5m. The sleeping area is large enough to get two double inflatable mattresses inside...

A lovely little city in the Midlands
Review of Lichfield (England) by
SusanLesley
Advantages: Beautiful cathedral, good shops and restaurants
Disadvantages: None
...If you're visiting the Midlands take the time to have a look at Lichfield. It has so much to offer and is well worth a visit.
St Chad’s Cathedral stands on the site of the first cathedral built in honour of St Chad in AD 700. It has three spires, know as The Ladies of the Vale, which can be seen from miles away. Work began on the present building in 1195 and continued with some interruptions until 1338. Whenever I visit Lichfield I always have a walk round the cathedral. It is always welcoming and very peaceful. I love to just sit and look around and have a little word with the Boss! It has a spectacular font with elaborate carvings of saints and kings and the windows of the Lady Chapel are one of the cathedral’s chief treasures.
There is a shop inside the cathedral that sells all sorts of gifts, both religious...

The tent for the small
Review of Eurohike 220 by
Kuli2
Advantages: The price
Disadvantages: The size
...I first purchased the Eurohike 220 about 2 years ago when I was going on a Duke Of Edinburugh expedition, the tent was light weight and it was very easy to carry on the expedition. Another reason I bought the tent was because it was so easy to erect. The poles easily located in the channels and it just popped up. The simple job of hammering in the pegs followed and then you could use it to your hearts content. This is the type of tent you need after you have been on a 15 mile hike, something that is easy to put up with no fiddeling.
The only problem with the tent is that it is too small it is about 5"8 long and now iam 6". This tent was a great tent and it served me well for the 2 years that it was in my possesion. The only problem now is finding a tent that will match it in price and in all of the other essential criteria...

Lichfield Holiday Inn Express.
Review of Holiday Inn Express, Lichfield by
wildtinsey
Advantages: Comfortable
Disadvantages: High price.
...close by, I believe it is an esporta one.
It is suitable for commuters who need an overnight stop somewhere whilst travelling on business but i also has facilities to hold conferences there too.
There is ample free parking available. Disabled spaces are just near to the entrance tpo the hotel.
There are adapted rooms for the disabled and also to access the upper floor a lift is provided.
I recommend this as a nice hotel with easy access to the major travel routes, motorways, Birmingham and for those wanting to visit the tourist places in Lichfield....

Sun Safe
Review of Play Tents by
mandyco
Advantages: Offers UV protection
Disadvantages: None
...My sister lives in Great Yarmouth; she lives about a quarter of a mile from the beach.
In summer she spends a lot of the time on the beach (weather permitting), with her two children.
I wanted to buy a present that both children would get some use from, after pouring through the Argos catalogue; I spotted the new pop up tents.
I didn't think much of them, until I spotted a tent called The Pop Up Sunsafe Tent, straight away I knew this would make an ideal present for the children.
The Sunsafe Tent has exactly the same features as the ordinary Pop Up Tent.
It pops up in seconds; it's extremely compact and easy to store. The Tent is also shower proof, but not waterproof. It can be used indoors and outdoors.
The Sunsafe costs £2 more than the ordinary tent, but you get the added benefit of an UV resistant tent, it has a special...

A Really Exciting Roofbox Review............?
Review of Autoform 350 Roofbox by
Muddy250
Advantages: High Quality, Well Designed and Made
Disadvantages: None in 3 years use
...What's a Roofbox? Why do we need one? Bored yet…………?
About 3 years back we decided that we ought to return to camping after a break of few years, waiting for the girls to grow a bit (also waiting to have any money left to go anywhere with!). The girls were very excited and we dug out our old faithful Lichfield, loaded up the car and headed for the coast and a campsite we'd stayed at a long time ago while walking the Cleveland Way. It went so well that we decided to buy a bigger tent and make it a regular thing. Soooo, off we trot to the camping shop and come home with the biggest dome tent we could get our hands on, almost 5m across in both directions and easily big enough to stand up in.
Too much Kit.....
Other 'essential' bits and pieces soon get added to the general camping kit and before too long the car boot just isn't going...

A serious tent for serious camping!
Review of VauDe Mark II by
photokeith69
Advantages: Easy up and down, light weight, OUTER UP FIRST!
Disadvantages: Rather expensive, suffers from condensation if zips fully closed
...I purchased a VauDe MkII lite over 1 year ago and have never looked back!
I put the tent up in the back garden as per the instructions that were easy to follow. When you first get the tent the inner is not attatched so you lay the outer on the floor and the elasticated frame is placed on top. The 4 corners of the outer are then inserted into the ends of the frame and the elastic of the outer easily clipped onto the frame.
The inner is then attatched and can stay this way for the life of the tent!
In use the tent is a roomy 2 man with ample space for kit or tight fitting 3 man. This tent has a huge hydrostatic head, meaning that it is very water proof. This does however bring it's own problems. The tent is coated in silicone which, although water resistant is not breathable. As such, when camping in warmer climates...
