Lovely if expensive
Review of Browns Restaurant, London by  romybuzzer

Advantages: Nice food
Disadvantages: High Prich for fame

...Browns is now open in Brighton too. Its a bit small and a bit expensive but worth the money as the food is gorgeous. It is always a good place to start a night out. The staff are really friendly and there is always the chance to bump into a few stars! Famous people can usually be seen in there as it is a bit chique!!! Service is not that quick but it is an experience in itself. I normally go for the Lobster myself. It is cooked very tender. I do like my seafood. The brighton one does not appear to have the sophistication that the restaurant in London has but it is still very nice. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the big smoke.... Read review

Simply the best seafood in Brighton
Review of English`s Oyster Bar & Seafood, Brighton by  Pearlpoppy

Advantages: Confidence of knowing that you'll get really good seafood
Disadvantages: Not much alternative for carnivores that are fish haters

...'s watering now at the memory! Oysters are a speciality; on my birthday a couple of years ago, I was even allowed to try an oyster for free! Although not to my taste, it was very fresh and tasted of the sea. Halibut, seabass, lobster, crab etc are all available and all of the best quality. If, like my husband, you're not a fish person, they offer a delicious Scotch fillet steak and also steak & kidney pudding. I can't tell you what the desserts are like - we never have room!... The Unknown Newquay
Review of Newquay in General by  rockrupert

Advantages: Great beaches, Great facilities, Great events, Interesting Shops
Disadvantages: The weather can be unpredictable!

...Everyone knows that Newquay boasts some of the best surfing beaches in Europe. Young people come from all over the world to experience the surfing and the nightlife of this vibrant and exciting place. However, there is another side to Newquay that not everyone gets to see. We have nature walks of the highest order all around the area. For example, there is the River Gannel and the surrounding areas across the river to Crantock and along the river banks from the new non-smokers' restaurant Trotters along the riverside to the Pentire Headland. There's a beautifully bracing walk parallel to the sea from Pentire to Fistral. You can pop down to the harbour and see the seals as they follow the boats or just bask in the Harbour. There's a lovely hotel called the Lobster Pot for the quieter visitor alongside the Red Lion opposite the harbour... Fish locked up in Winchester...
Review of Loch Fyne Restaurant, Winchester by  Jaycey

Advantages: Stylish, lively, good variety of quality seafood
Disadvantages: No good if you hate fish!

...of fish as it does tend to permeate the room! Now down to the good stuff: Starters generally cost £4-7 and include mussels (choice of two versions), oysters (natural or two varieties of cooked), several options of smoked salmon and gravadlax, various soups and salads. You can buy the oysters individually or by the half or full dozen, allowing you to mix and match or make up your own platter if you have a large group. Main courses are around £8-12, and some typical examples are tuna steak, whole sea bass, and salmon steak, along with shellfish and the non seafood dishes. They are each served fairly simply, perhaps with a light sauce, allowing the flavour of the ingredients to come through. There are also hot and cold platters served on a spectacular tiered dish - with lobster for £35 or crab for £25. These typically include hot mussels... Read review

Brighton University - The real deal
Review of Brighton University by  alexnicholson

Advantages: Nightlife, Education, Vibe, Atmosphere.
Disadvantages: Not that cheap, accomodation bit of a distance away.

...Brighton University, first time around, was my second choice. That was 3 years ago. Now I have finished the first year of my course there, and have to say it should have been first choice straight from the start. The University itself is situated approx 1 mile from the centre, a bit of a trek, but found that the buses and trains are fabulous. If you are looking for a University which has the student as the top priority, the education and facilities Brighton has is extremely good. On the Brighton Campus it is made up of 3 buildings, all within walking distance, along the main Lewes road, which comes out of Brighton, and the range of course are fairly good. The pharmacy side, IT and business are very well catered for. Check up on the rest in the UCAS books. The town itself? Well, with the vibe, atmosphere and variety, you will never... Read review

The Best Restaurant in Brighton
Review of Bistro Vino, Preston Street, Brighton by  maryjo

Advantages: quality of food, location
Disadvantages: none

...Our favourite Brighton restaurant is Bistro Vino in Preston Street - close to the sea front & the main shopping street. We have returned several times to Bistro Vino on our day trips to the coast - the service there is excellent. We have experienced a warm, friendly atmosphere each time. The menu is varied with local fresh fish a speciality. The set menu offers a good choice and is exceptional value for money. After a wonderful meal at the Bistro Vino, a stroll along the sea front is always the perfect way to end our day in Brighton.... Read review

10 jokes I love about you....
Review of 10 Best Jokes by  ElizaF

Advantages: V.v.v.v funny
Disadvantages: may not be to everyone's taste

...contest at St. Peter's, not a peter pulling contest at St. Taffy's. ZOO KEEPER'S JOKE:- A guy starts his new job at the zoo and is given three tasks. The first is to clear the exotic fish pool of weeds. As he does this a huge fish jumps out and bites him. To show who is boss he beats it to death with a spade. Realising his employer won't be best pleased he disposes of the fish by feeding it to the lions, as lions will eat anything. Moving on to the second job of clearing out the Chimp house, he is attacked by the chimps who pelt him with coconuts. He swipes at two chimps with a spade killing them both. What can he do? Feed them to the lions, he says to himself because lions eat anything. He hurls the corpses into the lion enclosure. He moves on to the last job which is to collect honey from the South American Bees. As soon as he starts he... Read review

Brighton The Royal Pavilion
Review of The Royal Pavilion, Brighton by  suzanna

Advantages: trippy and fun
Disadvantages: none

...A must see on any visit to Brighton is The Royal Pavilion. If you spend the day out in Brighton it's a fantastic town for walking and sight seeing and is easy to find hip things to do wherever you walk. Head on down to The Pavilion which is in the middle of town. This building was originally built by the prince regent and is a trip to set eyes upon. It looks like the taj-mahal, and is beautiful day or night to look at. Its one of the things that makes Brighton special and weird at the same time, and there's alwys something going on neraby thats wierd or special as well...a classical four piece band or a street performer doing an experimental break dance routine. Good place to hook up with some like minded day trippers and carrry on clubbing or pubbing.... Read review

Brighton Lanes
Review of Brighton Lanes (Brighton) by  noosie

Advantages: Great if your looking for something different
Disadvantages: None

...We decided to fit Brighton into our plans of spending a week travelling from Scotland down the east coast and back up the west of England, so Brighton seemed like a good place to visit for a couple of days since we have a friend who has moved there. Our Friend took us to Brighton Lanes and we were surprised at how quaint it is. It must be very old as it almost makes you feel like you have gone back in time! The lanes lead around the town centre and contain all sorts of weird and wonderful shops from clothing to antiques, hand made sweets, health food shops, hand made beauty products and numerous jewellery shops. And all at competative prices. It made a nice change from the usual high street shops and we spend many hours browsing their wares. Although we could have spent longer. It is an ideal place for gifts as you are sure... Read review

Monkey Madness!!
Review of Rainforest cafè by  sprinkledoughnut

Advantages: Good priced entertaining family meal
Disadvantages: May have a long wait if you haven't booked

...Cafe is located at the bottom corner of the Market Place, you will be able to see it from a distance as the landmark of the restaurant is a volcano. The restaurant also has a shop attached to it where they sell clothes, cups, mugs toys anything you can really think promoting the Rainforest Cafe. The restaurant is separated into several themed animal areas, gorillas & monkeys, lions & tigers, elephants, birds and butterflies. About every half hour there will be a loud thunder and lighting showing on the roof. The animals then start to move and it keeps the kids entertained for a while. The kids will love all the different themes around the restaurant, and there is also a massive tropical fish tank that goes round the front of the building. There is a wide variety of food. The kid's menu is on average about $5.99 a meal, and the adult... Read review
