...Changing rooms is a good TV programme. But i have found that they have very weird ideas for what they think people would like to live in! Why do they go to extremes so many times and make a room into something i personally couldn't stand and would have to change the next day. The idea of the game is to have 2 couples, do up their neighbours houses, so in effect, their both doing up each others house. The owner of the houses are not allowed to see their rooms until they have been completed. The designers normally have a budget of about £500 in which to buy materials etc and have about 2 days to complete the room. The interiro designers are supposed to give the couple a helping hand in thinking up ways in which to change the rooms, but they don't help, they take over! ...I have just used Paltalk for the first time and I was amazed at the quality of the chat in the new members rooms. Paltalk is a free chat area with a difference. Members can chat by text, live via microphone or can video conference. Also available is private message 1 to 1 chat. After listening to the live chat going on in new members room I decided to navigate a few of the other rooms. Most rooms were really good and the users welcomed me on arrival. Everyone seemed so friendly and so different to other people in other internet chat areas. Advantages: predict the couples' reactions!

...Changing Rooms is presented by Carol Smilie and actually she's quite good at it. She really does give the impression that she's joining in the redecoration. The format of Changing Rooms is simple but effective. Basically two couples get together who each want to have one of their rooms redecorated. A designer is given to each couple and together they decide what to do with the room. The only catch is the couples have to swop houses for the show, so they are decorating their friends' room rather than their own. The designers always have elaborate and strange ideas and the 'ordinary people' do their best to calm them down. After all they have to live with their friends after the designer goes away! Advantages: Pick up some cheap DIY tips
Disadvantages: It's not always as easy as it looks

...When it first hit our screens, Changing Rooms was WOW. Now I've watched that many of them, heard the bad reports on other TV programms, seen some of the bad press in our tabloids I'm not so sure. I suddenly start noticing things like shabby curtain hems, painted rugs, murals?. Some of the ideas the designers come up with are amazing, it's just a shame they don't remember they don't have to live with their "Changed room" afterwards. I do feel sorry for some of the participants, and do they really stay friends with each other after the cameras have all gone away?... Read review

Advantages: Has a baby change/feed room
Disadvantages: Not very baby friendly & Quite Expensive

...I live in Hereford and there is a Mothercare however it is quite small and I think that the shops policy is to cram in as much as possible with the result that I cant even get my single pram round parts of it, I dont know what someone with a twin pram would do. Why does a shop that is meant to be for babies make it so hard to get a baby in. I have also on occasion used their mother and baby room which is fine as far as it goes but the worse thing is that there is no running water added to which you would think that they could at least provide wipes or nappies for free when using this room, probably on request at the cash till, but there is no mention of this in the room. I also think that they are quite expensive for quite a few of their items in comparison to other places such as Index, Argos and Boots. As a store for babies... Read review

Advantages: Good quality, good choice of colours

...I have used Dulux-Emulsion in several occasions and have 3 rooms in my house decorated with Dulux paint. The colour is very rich, does not smell as much as the competition and is very easy to apply. The Dulux-Once range is suitable for every room and only needs one coat. My living room is decorated with their "Sugared lilac" colour and looks still fresh, even after 3 years. Their "Kitchen and Bathroom" range is suitable for most rooms and is usually cheaper than Dulux-Once. However, there is not much difference in quality. We have got the colour "Lemon-Peel" in our kitchen and we only needed one coat. Overall, the quality and choice of colours makes Dulux the one to go for, even if the price is a bit more expensive. It is worth getting a sample pot for £0.85-£1, to experience the quality.... Read review
