The stick that brings joy
Review of Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - joystick by
themiff
Advantages: Good design, lots of buttons, twist handle, good base, decent price
Disadvantages: Small throttle, mostly for right handers, slightly loose
...THE BASICS:
The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick has 12 buttons, an 8 way hat switch, throttle control, trigger. The joystick plugs straight into the USB port and comes with Logitech joystick drivers and a software to allow you to programme your joystick for specific games. Set up is quite easy and you will be gaming in no time. The joystick also features a handle twist control for things like rudder control. This adds another dimension to your gaming experience.
PLAYABILITY:
The joysick is very useable for people of all ages. The only downside is that it is made for right-handers as the hand rest and some buttons are placed in a certain way and these cannot be adjusted. The throttle control is nice and smooth to use although I found it to be slightly looser than I would like but its not a big problem. I find the 8 way hat switch very...

Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D
Review of Logitech WingMan Extreme Digital 3D - joystick by
Dave_UK
Advantages: Comfortable to use, sturdy, and offering a good range of controls
Disadvantages: none
...I have been looking to replace my joystick, ever since my Thrustmaster F16 replica finally bit the dust. I wanted to get a quality controller, but I couldn't afford to stretch my budget to accomodate force feedback. It was after a little investigating that I stumbled upon Logitech's excellent Wingman Extreme Digital 3D.
>Overview and Value for money<
---------------------------------------
The Wingman Extreme Digital 3D is no doubt Logitech's mainstream joystick. It offers a good balance of functionality/comfort at a reasonable price. The joystick does not have force feedback, which adds a sense of vibrational realism to your games - but at this price it is to be expected. As far as I remember the joystick typically retails around £25. I feel that this is a very reasonable price, given the quality of this controller...

Extremely good
Review of Logitech WingMan Extreme Digital - joystick by
BruceC
Advantages: Hard wearing (for the most part !), inexpensive
Disadvantages: poorly deisgned HAT switch, and weak locking mechanism on twist
...I bought by Logitech Extreme Digital 3D joystick on the recommenadtion of a friend. I play a lot of flight sims and wanted something with a good quality twist grip (for rudder control) The stick works well, all of the pots, buttons and the throttle having lasted over a year now. I have even kept it in preference to more expensive sticks that I have tried. I now use the stick in conjunction with a pair of C.H. products Pro Pedals and have locked off the twist function. It was whilst doing this that I came across my one major gripe with the construction of the stick, the small locking screw that disables the twist (if you are using seperate rudder pedals)is made of weak plastic and is easily 'chewed' by a screwdriver if used repeatedly. My only other criticism is that the hat switch (normally used to control views etc) is too small...

Logitech Extreme-ly annoying
Review of Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - joystick by
ExiledWolf
Advantages: Twist stick, lots of buttons, POV hat
Disadvantages: Twist now constantly pulls to the left, only suitable for right-handed users
...Generally speaking, anyone who dabbles in the world of flight simulators, be it of the civil or military variety, needs a good joystick with enough buttons to cover the basics (Gear up/down, flaps, change weapons, shoot, trim control surfaces, etc.) and some form of rudder and throttle control. The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Twist meets these criteria and so seems like a good buy, but all is not as it seems...
Yes, it offers a total of twelve buttons. One trigger, four on the top, one thumb switch on the stick and six on the base. That is more than enough to cover the functions needed to get any budding pilot flying without too many moves to the keyboard. The last thing anyone needs it to have to look down at the keyboard when on final approach just to adjust the flaps so the Logitech scores full points there. The POV hat switch is a nice...

It died
Review of Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - joystick by
mac101
Advantages: Works really well for 3 months
Disadvantages: Breaks in the fourth
...The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - sounds cool, right? Well yes it is. The action is smooth when you buy it and has a twist function for rudder control, meaning that you can do some pretty cool manouvres in flight (if that's your game).
So, a happy story with a happy ending - I have game, I kill people, I fly fast, high, low, smooth - and we all live happily ever after? Not quite.
3 months after buying the Joystick (J/s - too lazy to type it again) It starts playing up. First the twist function started to relax and become MUCH less responsive. The J/s then, bizarrely, started to yaw to the right when I banked to the left - result? Stall or complete lack of control.
The fault was that the wires to the top panel and control hat (little directional-pad on the top of the J/s) were too short and had wrenched the potentiometer controlling...

Logitech Wingman Rumblepad
Review of Logitech WingMan RumblePad - game pad by
Dave_UK
Advantages: Comfortable, well built, great functionality, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: none
...i was playing 'project gotham racing' on a friends x-box, when it suddenly hit me - i need a gamepad!
i already owned a logitech wingman extreme digital 3d joystick (also reviewed on ciao) that i am very happy with, so i decided to go with logitech. i wanted a reasonably priced controller with force-feedback capabilities, so i settled for this gamepad and have been very happy with it.
>value<
this controller is excellently priced at around the £20-25 mark, which i feel is extremely fair given the quality of the controller. this is comparable to a new controller (branded) for one of the consoles.
>first impressions<
the box is attractive, but it didnt last for long. what i really wanted to see was inside :)
opening it up revealed the gamepad itself, which looked great, and a driver cd. this cd contains the excellent logitech...

Review of Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse - mouse by
paul992k
Advantages: No wires obviously
Disadvantages: the batterys obviously die
...Ok not sure what I can really say about a mouse I've only had Logitech mice cos that’s what’s always come with my computers I've bought. I bought it when the mouse to one of my computers died.
This has to be the best mouse I’ve use...I've used Microsoft mice at college and to be honest I think that Logitech ones are far suprior they feel so much smoother and the buttons feel high quality
On to the item in question, Logitech’s standard cordless mouse. I have never owned any other cordless mice other than the Logitech one so I can only base my opinions on this one alone.
Firstly I'd like to put all the fears about cordless mice at rest. They don’t just conk out on you for no good reason, this one certainly doesn't, this mouse it seems to work anywhere in the room as long as it is at a similar height. The batteries last months...

Very good
Review of Logitech WingMan Gamepad Extreme - game pad by
JamieMckeen
Advantages: great looks, and features
Disadvantages: bit sensitive in some games
...I used to make fun of people who twist and squirm with the most unusual body movements whenever they pick up a pad to do some gaming. You know, like uncle Bob, screamin' and hollerin' at the screen while leaning left and right, smashing you into the end of the sofa... Well, game-peripheral designers have learned to take advantage of those body movements with tilt sensors, and this is Logitech's latest: the WingMan Gamepad Extreme.
The WingMan Gamepad Extreme sports just a hint of iMac-ish design in its grips and buttons. It comes with a shortened version of one game, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D, along with the WingMan driver/profile software. After a fast installation, an LED glows brightly on the pad, telling you it's ready for action. As with other pads, the six buttons on top and the trigger pads on the underside are fully...

Logitech mm50
Review of Logitech mm50 Portable Speakers for iPod by
Scotland1978
Advantages: Rechargable Battery, Portability
Disadvantages: Remote, Distortion at high volumes
...Sound quality is very good for speakers at this price point. The rechargable battery also allows the user to listen to their iPod everywhere in the house. When bought the cost around £45 on Amazon which is a price I have been unable to beat anywhere.
The remote included with the Speakers is dissapointing as you have to be positioned directly in front of them with no obstructions or it will not work. The 3D sound option works well for some music but again you have to be positioned directly in front of them. The build quality is good and the speakers feel solid. The carry case provided is useful but does not give you anywhere to store the power adaptor. Overall the speakers are excellent buy for this price and are highly reccommended...
