Great for the Ladies Too!
Review of Suzuki Marauder 800 by
sashamae
Advantages: Looks, Size, Price and Handling
Disadvantages: Comfort and Sound
...I love this bike.... I am a 5'9" 24 yr old female rider and this bike is a great fit! I love the forward set front pegs! They give my legs all the room they need..... The seat is not the most comfortable but it will do till I upgrade to a mustang seat. The exhaust is very attractive but also very quiet... at times that is good but I would like to hear a little more out of it. At first glance this bike has been mistaken many times for a Harley on looks alone. Of course when you get a closer look or hear the low rumble of the stock pipes it's obvious that it is not. As a fairly new rider I will say this bike has great handling, great response, easy shifting and a smooth ride!
I would highly recommend this bike for riders at all levels. With the right customizing it will be your dream bike!...

SAFER HORSE RIDING ON THE ROADS
Review of Member Advice on Equestrian Activities by
janna
Advantages: see text
Disadvantages: see text
...by elements beyond the rider’s control. These may include sudden very loud noises, cars that overtake with a barking dog halfway out of the window, paper bags that blow across a road, electric hedge trimmers, low flying aircraft or other sights that the horse is not used to seeing. (My horse turns into a Big Baby when confronted by pigs!).
It is the responsibility of the rider to wear light or fluorescent clothing when riding in order that they are visible to other road users. That they never take a horse on the road that they cannot control and that they ensure their tack is in good condition.
The horse rider must give clear road signals, so that his intentions are clearly understood. It is common courtesy to acknowledge good driving by putting a hand up, nodding or giving a nice smile. Make sure that you are a responsible, courteous...

The Big Kwak
Review of Kawasaki ZRX1100 by
zrxsheep
Advantages: Power and stability and comfort
Disadvantages: Wind deflection
...This motorcycle is an underestimated machine, it is well suited to both Young hooligan riders and older experienced riders, do not be mistaken these machines are for the experienced rider right from the start. They are excellent for those riders who suffer from hip problems when riding the more racing style posture bikes, these are very capable machines both in the twistys and on the wide lanes of motorways/dual carriage ways.
They are huge on power and torque but beware in the wet do not apply too much power to quick or you will be off.
Comfort wise they are capable of covering 3-400miles per day without the rider being unfit at the other end (remember to take plenty of breaks when riding long distances).
The fuel return on the Zrx1100 is excellent the road handling is also excellent if carrying a pillion you can match the handling...

Easy to use
Review of Healthrider Exerciser by
mjn
Advantages: Low Impact exercises for a number of different muscle groups
Disadvantages: Not for someone with a small flat
...I found the health rider easy to use. After following the instruction video tht came with mine I found it easy to get into the habit of doing a number of different exercises to develop different muscle groups. The routine lasts about 25-30 minutes.
The advantage with the healthrider is that your using your own weight to help exercise, in effect your lifting yourself up and the way the machine is designed impact on your joints is low.
It is important to make sure that the seat is adjusted correctly and that you warmup first otherwise there is some scope for back injury. But if you follow the video I can't see a problem occuring.
The only disadvantage I can really see comparing the health rider to something like an exercise bike is its "footprint" the handle bars a quite wide and if space is limited it can get in the way. However...

Well worth a try
Review of Bates Isabell Dressage Saddle by
catshark88
Advantages: Stylish, comfy
Disadvantages: Not cheap
...A very well designed saddle.
A lot of my friends have used Bates saddles over the years and they have always seemed to be well designed, robust and reasonably priced.
The Isabell was designed with (I understand) a lot of input from world dressage champion Isabell Werth and trainer Dr Baurner (how is it that all German dressage people seem to have six degrees each AND be able to ride like that?!).
It is designed to enhance partnership between horse and rider and this can only improve your performace whether you are a pro or a happy hacker.
The design of the saddle helps the rider to sit correctly and I have seen so much improvement in riders when they crack how to sit properly. It is so hard to use each part of your body properly when the overall balance is out. It is really comfortable and it does make you feel like you are sitting...

BMW R1100RT. The riders bike.
Review of BMW R1100RT by
r1100rt
Advantages: Weather protection, comfort, handling, fuel range etc.
Disadvantages: Poor headlamp, people think you are too old for bikes when you buy a BMW
...The BMW R1100RT is by far the BEST moorcycle for someone who likes touring at high (or low) speeds, and who likes to cover large distances at the same time. I have been riding for 37 years and have riden every type of machine there are. I feel the bMW is the best machine I have ever owned (up to now) I like the comfort. The weather protection, The handling, and the performance. On paper it isn't that quick, and to be fair it isn't, but we all know that figures are not true to life. This bike will (with a good rider) give most sport bike riders a run for their money. But when they are getting off to renew their circulation and filling up with fuel, you will be flying past, leaving them in your wake. Typically 200-250 miles without stopping is easy to achieve.
Load space is superb too. With the panniers off the bike, you still have acres...

A very, very angry album
Review of Life Is Peachy [ECD] - Korn by
yhwman
Advantages: Bizarre use of Scat, A.D.I.D.A.S and a few other great tracks
Disadvantages: Most of the tracks are 'mood' songs
...Scat isn’t the way you expect a metal album to start, but that’s what Korn decided to do with Life Is Peachy and it sets the mood of the whole album. With the exception of Porno Creep the entire album is about noise. Shouting, screeching, growling – you name it it’s on this album. At times it’s almost atonal and you really have to be in a certain mood to like this album. Having said that, there are a few tracks that I can always listen to. Good God, A.D.I.D.A.S, No Place to Hide, Wicked and Low Rider. But some tracks, especially K@#0%! You really REALLY have to be feeling angry to listen to. Life is Peachy is hard to get into and Korns worst album, get the others first....

The perfect advanced mobile GPS!
Review of TomTom Rider by
maddycatty2k
Advantages: Quick satellite lock, can be using for cycling and walking, updates quickly.
Disadvantages: If not attached to bike battery for charging, then the TomTom Rider only lasts 5 hours.
...'ve only tested it in a car and walking, but I can't WAIT to get this puppy on my motorcycle. I have actually installed one of the handle bar holders to my bike, and did manage to ride around a bit with it in a car park until my bike died due to other reasons...guess what? NO SHAKING, no vibration. So, I just can't wait to try this on the road.
My only gripe is with the low battery time. It will die if not connection to the bikes battery. Luckily, my friend was able to charge the sucker in her car, but if she didn't the TomTom Rider would have ran out before we got home after that long 300+ mile drive.
It is also water proof, but by no means is it shock proof. I dropped it once, just a short distance, and the thing wouldn't start for days! I guess I was lucky. Also, be careful that you install the holder securely and that you actually...

The easiest way into biking!
Review of Yamaha SR125 by
slaveunit
Advantages: Simple, easy, reliable and fun
Disadvantages: lacks a bit of power
...For most new bikers on the roads, the SR125 was possibly the first bike they rode, as it's used a lot in CBT training. I am a motorbike instructor with a school that uses the SR125, and I have nothing but praise for them!
A very simple, cruiser/mini harley styled machine with a single cylinder, 4-stroke engine. Over the years, the SR has evolved, with tiny touches such as clocks updates and so on, but has essentially remained a 'get on and go' bike for the masses.
It's low seat/high bars position is very comfortable for riders of all sizes, and the lightweight build means that the bike is very maneuverable at low and high speeds, though high winds and bunpy roads can occasionally be a problem!
The key feature of them though, is their convenience. There is no worries of detonation of the engine from abuse (it's not a 2-stroke...

You won't put it down
Review of Riders - Jilly Cooper by
SusanLesley
Advantages: An excellent read and one you'll want to read again
Disadvantages: You can't put it down!
...Riders is the first in a series of six books (so far) by Jilly Cooper which will have you hooked right from the start.
This book follows Rupert Campbell Black and his arch rival Jake Lovell as they fight for supremacy on the showjumping circuit.
Rupert and Jake met as children at the boarding school where Jake’s mother was cook and Rupert was boarder. Because of Jake’s low birth added to the fact that he was a gypsy Rupert made his early life unbearable.
When Jake qualifies for the British Showjumping team, Rupert takes great delight in making his life a misery once more.
Rupert marries Helen a well-heeled American but soon finds out that she’s not what he expected. She’s far too sensitive for his boorish ways and finds his sexual openness horrifying.
Jake marries Tory, but only because her stepfather...
