Quirky stuff from the ultimate quirky shop chain
Review of Lush Bath Ballistics by
angehodgson
Advantages: Smell gorgeous and look delightful
Disadvantages: Too expensive for daily use
...The backbone of Lush's product range, ballistics are a source of bemusement to all Lush virgins when they first go into the shops.
They are one of the main reasons the shop can be smelled way down the street and are the ultimate products for anyone wishing to cut down on the packaging of they products they buy.
At their simplest, ballistics are simply balls of bicarbonate of soda and citric acid, which fizz away to soften bath water. Lush adds perfumes, colours and 'extras' (see below), to make a ballistic bath a decidedly 'different' experience.
As well as the colours and perfumes, a lot of the ballistics in the range are also packed with flowers, glitter or even bits of fruit(!), so if you don't want to be covered in glitter for days (Fairy Jasmine is rumoured to have precisely that effect), it's a good idea to thoroughly read...

Review of Lush Summer Blues Bath Ballistic by
Sunnysmiles
Advantages: Relaxing and enjoyable
Disadvantages: flowers stick in bath if not cleaned straight away
...Lush Summer Blues Bath Ballistic
I think everyone likes to receive presents and I especially like to receive surprise presents, so yesterday when my friend came to visit with a little carrier bag full of Lush bath ballistics I was delighted.
There were four bath ballistics in the bag as they had been shopping in the merry hill shopping centre in the midlands and thought of me and one of the ballistics was a summer blues bath ballistic.
Each ballistic came in it's own little bag and the summer blues one was a lovely shade of light blue, a good size nearly about the same size as a tennis ball, when I turned it over in the bag I could see dark blue flowers embedded in the ballistic. I really couldn't wait until the night to have a bath and was so excited, as I have used lush products for about a year now and so far have never been...

My Cherry Blossom
Review of Lush Sakura Bath Ballistic by
cjohns
Advantages: The smell. Looks so lovely.
Disadvantages: None
...The 'Sakura' is a new bath ballistic recently launched by Lush (the handmade cosmetics company).
In case you don't know, a bath ballisitic (or bath bomb) is a combination of sodium bicarbonate, citric acid and a variety of different essential oils and colourings, all condensed into a ball. When dropped into a bath the bomb merrily fizes away dissolving lovely essential oils into the bath for you to wallow in.
The Sakura ballistic (Sakura is the Japanese word for Cherry Blossom by the way) is a particularly attractive version of a bath ballistic. Its a very very pale pink colour dappled with speckles of pale green, with a bright pink and green layer of exfoliating sea salt sitting at the top of the ballistic.
This particular ballistic cost £2.10 for a 200 gram bomb. This is about average price for a Lush ballistic. I suppose...

Rainbow Worrier Bath Ballistic
Review of Lush Rainbow Warrier Bath Ballistic by
Arls0308
Advantages: Good if you like the unknown & wisdom with your bath
Disadvantages: Not much smell
...The only reason I bought the Rainbow Worrier Bath Ballistic from Lush is that they made big deal out of it in the Lush Times, which they obviously would - they want to sell them!
One of the few items from Lush that I’ve been disappointed with (although not as much as the Tisty Totsy thing), there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the Rainbow Worrier - I just got a little too excited & believed it would be great.
The Rainbow Worrier is a white bath ballistic (a big ball which you put in your bath & it fizzes around leaving you and your bathroom smelling ace), and the marketing gimmick - it has a pink, yellow or blue centre and you don’t know until it’s in the bath. Now I was under the impression that your bathwater would go whatever colour was in the centre - I had images of bath the colour intensity of when I use a Big Blue (the...

The ultimate bathtime secret....
Review of Lush Bath Bombs by
lec299
Advantages: Cheap, great for skin, body and mind..
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!
...I worked in a Lush store for quite a while. I fell in love with the gorgeous smelling products, which filled the air (and all our lungs) like a pleasant drug. My favourite, of all the products, were the bath ballistics that were stacked high in a paint pallette of colours. Each contains a different essential oil - working wonders ona variety of problems - skin irratation, stress, tiredness, anger.... Or, they are just a wonderful treat - for any time of the day, night or afternoon. Just plonk one in the bath and have a whale of time!!
So, how do they work? The balls are packed full of bicarbonate of soda. Once put in the bath, the soda reacts with the water and starts to fizz away. In the dissolving, all the wonderful oils are released into the water. If you look closely, you can see the oils rising off the ballistic into the air...

It's PINK! - Lush Bath Ballistic Sex Bomb
Review of Lush Bath Ballistic Sex Bomb by
soph71
Advantages: Smells devine, turns bath water pink, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, doesn't irritate, not tested on animals
Disadvantages: None
...Lush Bath Ballistic Sex Bomb
I have always enjoyed soaking in the bath with a good book and candles flicking away. Nothing eases the stress and strains of daily live so well and prior to buying any Lush products I have to make do with bath salts, various gels and a strange powder. All this changed when I received a gift set that contained the Lush Bath Ballistic Sex Bomb.
As part of a gift package the prices of all of the Lush products are slightly inflated but normally the 200g Bath Ballistic costs £2.50. Each Bath Ballistic can be broken in half so one bomb can be used twice so many people see them as expensive. I don't and I will shortly tell you why.
The Bath Ballistic is quite heavy and it resembles in size a cricket ball, coloured in lovely shades of pink so it looks lovely just sitting on the shelf and it gives off a lovely...

JUNKBOXJULES MAY BE GOING INTO HIDING
Review of Lush Bath Ballistic Fairy Jasmine With Wings by
junkboxjules
Advantages: Smells lovely and looks very pretty
Disadvantages: Mine didn't contain much glitter
...I think I'd better hurry up and write my Eulogy as I may need it very soon - as I am about to criticise a Lush product as I found it really disappointing.
For those of you who don't know, Lush is very highly respected by many female Ciao members and they won't hear a bad word against the Company - having said that I am normally included within that group but on this occasion it has to be said that disappointing is the only honest word I could use to describe this product.
The product I am referring to is the new festive limited edition Fairy Jasmine With Wings Bath Ballistic.
Lush have brought out a range of limited edition bath ballistics, (bath bombs), and I am slowly working my way through them - so far so good and I have not been disappointed at all.
I bought this product last week but I have been waiting for a day when I didn...

Lush For President
Review of Lush Bath Ballistics by
jess0910
Advantages: Gorgeous, natural, exciting - the best bath products around for centuries
Disadvantages: I use them so often that I'm always running out!!
...Listen you people out there, if you haven't tried Lush then you have got to do it now!! I must admit that I have never been to one of their shops (living in the wilds of Buckinghamshire the nearest one is in London - humph). Instead I make my orders via their website (www.lush.co.uk) or occasionally by mail order through their 'Lush Times'.
Bath Ballistics are the product that I buy most from Lush as they are a reasonable price for such a wonderful thing. New ballistics include the Cafe Latte, Uluru and World Piece.
Cafe Latte 'does exactly what it says on the tin' - it's one of the larger ballistics and is a creamy brown colour, sprinkled throughout with real Italian coffee, would you believe! When you drop it in the bath it fizzes instantly (as they all do) and I'm not kidding - it makes REAL COFFEE FOAM. How they do...

TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR ...............
Review of Lush Bath Ballistic Jingle Spells by
junkboxjules
Advantages: Smells lovely, looks really pretty in bath, It's Lush
Disadvantages: The stars do tend to get everywhere!!!
............DO YOU WANT A SPARKLY DOODAH?
With the festive season shortly to be upon us Lush have brought out some new limited edition bath ballistics products, not being one to be able to resist anything purple I was instantly attracted to the purple coloured orb which has been given the appropriate festive name Jingle Spells.
Jingle Spells was last year's Christmas Ballistic best seller and because of that Lush decided to reintroduce it again this year.
For those of you who don't know, Lush Bath Ballistics are brightly coloured orbs which are fragranced with essential oils. Each Bath Ballistic contains specific ingredients which are used to treat specific conditions, for example the Lush Jingle Spells Bath Ballistic contains the following oils Juniperberry Oil, Tangerine Oil, Fennel Oil and Ylang Ylang Oil, when these ingredients...

A ball fit for Cinderella...
Review of Lush Butterfly Ball Bath Ballistic by
pinkambie
Advantages: Gorgeous honeysuckle scent, pretty fabric butterflies
Disadvantages: Quite a bit of mess to clean up afterwards.
...I'm a big fan of Lush bath ballistics anyway, so when I read that a new one had been released, I didn't hesitate to snap one up for a pampering night in! The ballistic itself is cheaper than most of the other ballistics offered by Lush, at just £1.95, and is worth every penny. It's a pretty pink-purple colour, and although it smelt slightly suspect in the shop, when added to the bath the honeysuckle scent was beautiful, evoking happy childhood memories of playing underneath a honeysuckle bush!
Like all other Lush ballistics, when added to water it fizzes around the bathwater for a while until it's all dissolved, and the sensation of this on the skin feels great! After a long luxurious soak, I found that it left my skin feeling clean, soft smooth and pampered. The best bit for me, though, were the three gorgeous glittery purple fabric...
