Great car
Review of Jaguar S-Type 3.0 Executive by
j.cuthell
Advantages: engine
Disadvantages: interior
...The Jaguar S-Type is a sound entry into the luxury car market. The 3.0 V6 is smooth refined and if worked hard extremely powerful. Handling is good for a car in this class but lacks some feel. It can also be tricky to place the S-Type on the road at first but it soon becomes a distant problem. My one major complaint is the interior of which is only average. In my eyes the warm luxury cosseted feel of the XJ and XK models cannot be beaten. Whilst I got out of the car feeling it could be improved in some areas I still got out wanting one because whilst the car is not perfect as an ownership prospect it is nigh on unbeatable....

The best Brand Touring car ever made
Review of Jaguar XJS 5.3 by
Jagman91
Advantages: Exotic, Ferrari beating performance, luxury, stunningly beautiful
Disadvantages: none
...possesses a build quality long forgotten by most other automobile manufacturers. It has luxury amenities that are not even found in some modern cars. A power convertible to with rear defroster, headed seats, and power lumbar support, power windows, and ABS brakes. The interior is library quiet, which is very impressive, especially for a convertible.
This is a true super car that has performance, looks, and luxury. No other car possesses all three characters, except for another Jaguar. And no other car possesses all three characters on such a high level.
The car has been very reliable in my time of ownership, and gas mileage has been relatively good for a
V-12, ranging between 12 and 18 miles per gallon
If you've ever dreamed of owning an exotic car, the Jaguar XJS will be the most pleasant and rewarding ownership experience...

Review of Peugeot 206 1.6 by
mrighart
Advantages: Looks good, drives good
Disadvantages: The price
...When we were considering buying a new car, one of the first dealerships we went to was Peugeot. We had seen the new 206 and it looked great. Sporty, fast, no old ladies car! We had a couple of test drives and it looked very good. The car drives smoothly, is reasonably fast, the engine is quiet, navigating is easy. The inside looks good to. Nice seats, nice dashboard with lots of extra's. When inside this car you get a feeling of comfort, almost of luxury. The only disadvantage is the price. Sure, when you see the price in the catalogue is seems nice enought, but when you sit down at the dealership and tell them what features and extra's you want to have on your car you get quite a scare. Especially when compared to other cars in the same category the Peugeot 206 is an expensive car. Think twice, for just a little more you can have a car...

one of the best
Review of Rover 216 Gti by
Saman
Advantages: ease of drive, responsive engine
Disadvantages: brake pad wear
...This car is one of the most easiest and comfortable cars i've ever driven and believe me i've driven a few since i passed my test. This is mainly due to the leather interior with easily adjustable seats - tilt and height. The drive is smooth and the engine responsive due to the honda designed engine. My car comes with a full electrical package and front and back headrests aswell as alloys giving the feel of a small luxury car without the expense. The car is fairly cheap due to the Rover badge - although it is exactly the same as the Honda concerto. I haven't had problems with reliability but it does go through brake pads fairly quickly as it is an automatic. I highly recommend this car as a good first time car....

The Gas Guzzler
Review of Ford Granada 2.2 by
colin16
Advantages: Extremely comfortable.
Disadvantages: Expensive for day-to-day running costs.
...Our family decided upon buying a Ford Granada because we needed a car that we could take on long road trips and tow our trailer and hold our family, which comprises of two adults and four children. The Granada seemed like an excellant choice of car it was spacious, had a powerful 2.2 litre engine and had all the extra luxuries, electric windows, central locking and an extremely comfortable interior. For the first few weeks this was our dream car until we started noticing a shortage of money in our bank acccounts, we worked out that we had been spending about £60 per week on petrol, so the car had to go. This car is well suited to large familys with that extra bit of cash to spare on fuel, the comforts of this car make it worth while to someone who can afford it....

Budget Luxury
Review of Renault R25 TX by
HawkesFord
Advantages: Space, Luxury, Reliable, Easy to drive
Disadvantages: Expensive if it goes wrong.
...If you are after luxury at a bargain price you can't do much better than the Renault 25. It's a big car for £1000, or even less, and as long as you follow some golden rules they can run forever. Service history is a must, as with most cars, but more so with the 25. It is full of electronics, from engine management to gearbox and dash-related gizmo's. On the top of the range models is a computer that controls most of the major functions, as well as monitoring the state of the vehicle. If this is faulty, or on the way out, it can cost upwards of £1500 to replace, and the car is scrap without it. On the automatic models the gearbox is controlled by the computer, and it's a sealed unit, so check for any leaks (there is a guage on the dash). As long as you check these items a well looked after car will last for ages without much problem...

An excellent powerhorse
Review of Subaru Legacy 2.5 Estate by
scoobyman
Advantages: Powerful, stylish and massive
Disadvantages: Likes to drink fuel
...One look at the redesigned body of this car, and you realise that it really is something special! The car just looks as though it fits together perfectly. The alloys which come as standard on this vehicle look superb. The colours, which are available, are also really special – be daring and go for the gold colour. It really looks special!
This is a car I get to drive quite often, and always look forward to it. The ride is just so smooth, and with the 2.5 litre boxer engine is frightfully quick. This is one of those cars that was really made to be an automatic. The manual version doesn’t quite have the same luxurious feel to it when driving. Inside, it is remarkably spacious, with bags of legroom. It is all-round a truly excellent car....

gone in 60 seconds
Review of Gone In 60 Seconds DVD by
jo_field26
Advantages: good film
Disadvantages: n/a

Baby 306 gti-6
Review of Peugeot 106 GTI by
stefanwilliams
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...I have had two 306 GTI-6's and this little sister packs in all the fun of those cars without the price tag [and comfort]. These cars are absolutly great fun to drive, not for people who want to enjoy their ride though. The gear change is chunky, the acceleration is harsh and you feel EVERY stone chip on the road due to the REALLY HARD suspension. All this just adds to the thrill of driving this car. Like its bigger brother, thte acceleration and handling are fantastic, almost the same in fact. Luxurys are missing though inside, as is any form of top speed. The engine loves to operate over 5000rpm and red lines at 7500rpm. It loves accelerating through corners and never feels unstable. If you want a GTI-6 but cant afford one. BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!!...

Review of Renault Laguna 1.9 dTi Rt by
rachy
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Has Renault reliability improved?
...My husband recently bought a Laguna. I’ve never liked French cars at all although I admit due to my dislike I hadn’t taken any real nice of the current Renault crop. Despite a nice look I was dead set against it until I sat in the car. What luxury! Gorgeous upholstery, generous accessory allowance as standard and when I drove it! How amazing! I’ve never experienced such a well handling car of that size; it’s as thought the car is on rails! And the looks are warming on me! Top marks Renault!!...
