MAMAS & PAPAS PLIKO PRAMETTE
Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko Pramette by
kismet
Advantages: easy to use, lightweigh, smart looking
Disadvantages: fills the boot of a 306
...discovered. When in pushchair mode there is a drinks holder that can be attached.
There is a rear brake on the pushchair and the front wheels swivel which is great for easy manouvering, or they can be locked to go in a straight line, great for pushing down the road with one hand!
There are 2 handles, there is no interlinking bar on this model, and the handles are height adjustable, great for me and my husband as he is a foot taller than me.
I have purchased a separate parasol from Mothercare for £17.99. Mamas & Papas do sell them to match each pramette, but for £24.99.
DESIGNS AND MODELS
The Pliko Pramette is available from Mamas & Papas, and comes in 5 different models, with matching carseats and footmuffs. M&P sell it for £300 on their website, just for the basic pushchair, the carseat and bases cost extra.

Very impressive car seat.
Review of Mamas & Papas Protec in Graphite Car Seat by
Interested_Party
Advantages: Extremely easy to plug in, very secure fit.
Disadvantages: Nothing major, although it's quite heavy to carry.
...When our son outgrew his travel system rear facing seat, we spent a good deal of time researching all the different seats, looking online and trawling the shops. All the good shops have a mock car seat with a seat belt so that you can try the baby seats out in store, and we spent ages installing each baby seat to see how they worked!
We were really looking for a seat that I could shift easily between cars as I often go out with my mum or my sister in their cars. However, most of the seats were really fiddly to fit, you often have to feed the seat belt through tiny gaps between the base and the seat and through a multitude of awkward and fragile-looking clips. So when we tried this M&P one out we knew it was "the one"! It was just so simple to fit.
Basically, the seat belt goes round the underside of the chair at the front, plugs...

Zapp simple eye-catching but stroller can tip
Review of Quinny Zapp by
bs1zob
Advantages: Small light eye-catching design
Disadvantages: Numerous please see below
...Background: We've had this stroller for 9 months and have used both with the maxi cosi carseat and standard zapp seat. We have folded and unfolded it numerous times, attached and unattached the carseat numerous times and have traveled on a plane, buses, trams, trains, taxis and boat ferries with it.
This stroller is good for simple out and about trips, like a umbrella stroller however it can tip over quite easily and is a bumpy ride on uneven pavement ! The stroller has an eye-catching, solid design. Please see below for my list of pros and cons.
Pro:
Light
Compact
Eye catcher
Supports maxi cosi carseat for infants
Con:
Can tip over - please do not put anything on the handlebars !
Bumpy ride - no suspension
A bit tricky to fold and unfold
Sometimes it's difficult to detach the carseat
No reclining option
No storeage...

Only buy if you have a large boot...
Review of Graco Metrosport Travel System by
kittylovescatnip
Advantages: Comfortable, Suspension, Adjustable Handle
Disadvantages: Folding is Awkward, Shopping hard to get to
...Carseat - The Graco Autobaby carseat is a great seat for small babies, it's well padded, comes with a head hugger and a removable suncanopy. Unlike some carseats the canopy is not connected to the handle which means it can be folded back until needed. Also the handle stays upright when the carseat in place creating a rollcage to protect the baby and also being a handy place to hang a toy to keep them amused.
I would recommend getting the base unit for this as it makes life so easy just clicking the carseat into the car. The only flaw I can find with this seat is that the seat length is very short, my 8 month old had no leg room and she's not tall, I've had to move on to the next stage seat already.
Metrospoort Buggy - I bought the deluxe model of this in Festival, it's very nice to look at and admiring glances came from all directions...

3-in-1 Travel Systems
Review of Mothercare Colorado Travel System by
atdodds
Advantages: Convenient carseat/pushchair connection
Disadvantages: Difficult access to storage basket when carseat is attached to pushchair
...We bought a 3-in-1 travel system from Mothercare mainly because we liked the ease in which the car seat could just click onto the pushchair - excellent for when the baby falls asleep from the car journey!
A few things we have found with the travel system - and I imagine it's the same for travel systems in general...
Bearing in mind the actual pushchair part wasn't going to be used until baby could sit up, we found that the frequent action of clicking the carseat onto the pushchair actually caused scratching to the tray on the pushchair. (The safety mechanism at the rear of the carseat secured itself to the tray.) Basically this meant that when we came to use the pushchair without the carseat on top, it looked scruffy and battered. Not very good after 4 months of moderate use.
The second thing to bug us, was that we found it a bit...

The only travel system you'll need?
Review of Mamas & Papas Pliko Completo stroller by
wilsonsl
Advantages: Versatile, manoeuvrable, fits in car boot
Disadvantages: Quite heavy for a stroller, expensive
...- it is a much better, sturdier pushchair.
I got the full set (Mum and Dad were paying) and with rain covers, foot muff, car seat etc I believe the full bill was around £500. With hindsight, I'm not sure that the raincover was necessary for the carrycot (Amy was a summer baby after all - and the hottest summer on record), but I would say the footmuff is a must. If you are going for a carrycot, the "car seat that fits on the buggy" thing isn't so important and the M&P car seat is extremely heavy for carrying about. You could go for a different car set therefore, a Britax perhaps, and save some money and your back. The carrycot is very useful though, and even though Amy was tall and outgrew it by about 3 months, I would strongly suggest one to double up as a moses basket and travel cot for newborns. I didn't use the car-seat attachment which...

Ideal spare carseat
Review of Britax Freeway Seat by
mazparis
Advantages: Light and easy to fit
Disadvantages: none have had no probs
...This is the second 13kg+ carseat i have purhased. My main one, which is in my parents car is the britax first class which in itself is very good, however it is very bulky and heavy therefore a pain in the backside to transfer to a different car. Therefore its preferable to keep it in the car and have a second spare carseat thats lighter and easier to store to use with my sisters car.
The first thing that attracted me to the britax freeway carseat was the price, the usual price is around £70 but when i went to mothercare world they had the black and grey check design reduced to £55 due to the colour being discontinued which was a bonus considering i prefered it to the regular colour.
I got the assistant to show me how to fit it in my sisters car and i have to say i knew instantly i wouldn't have a problem with getting it in and out. Its...

Thumbs up for the MATRIX
Review of Jane Matrix by
Uptowngirl1981
Advantages: Stylish Looking, Better design for babies, washable covers
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, quite bulky and heavy, Doesn't fit on shopping trolleys
...After looking around at alot of other car seats and travel systems i read a thread on a baby website mentioning the revolutionary carseat that is the Matrix.
I really wanted a lay flat carseat as i'd been told form various sources that babies should not be in the upright position carseats for more than an 1.5hours. This was no good to me if i was going on an afternoon shopping trip or for a long drive. The problem i had was that i had a corsa and this really didn't have a big boot. So most of the travel systems that had lay flat car seat wouldn't fit in the boot.
After seeing the Matrix mentioned i decided to look into it and found a shop near us thay was a UK Jane Dealer. We Paid them a visit and gave the travel system a test drive and decided it was just what we where looking for! We ended up getting the Jane carrera with the Matrix...
