...I bought the Mac foundation over Christmas, and I'm not usually the type to spend more than £5-10 on a makeup prdduct because I'm a bit stingy. I used to think that Mac foundation might be too heavy on my skin since I don't really need a lot of makeup. Also I have sensitive skin, but Mac's foundation does not give me any break outs or problems whatsoever! Its great for sensitive skin in my opinion. All of my preconceptions about Mac changed once the makeup lady used the foundation on me I was amazed at how great it looked! One great thing about mac is that they have a great variety of make-up in different shades, my colour is NC50 and I usually struggle to get foundation that matches me, its either too dark or way too light, or ashy looking. ...I never really thought about foundation until I had a Mac makeover and had this recommended for me. Because Mac products were originally developed for use at fashion shows etc they are of an incredibly high standard. First of all, I have to mention the sheer amount of different shades they have. I have yellow toned skin, and had before had to use pink toned foundation, but at Mac there was a shade that pretty much perfectly matched my original skin tone. The consistency of the product is really nice - it's not too thick but not too diluted. It goes on really easily, and also I was told by the girl at Mac that it 'lets your skin breathe' - I would agree, as my skin has actually cleared up since switching to Mac foundation. ...I have been subscribing to various IT Magazines for over 10 years now, and although I have only been involved heavily and using Macs for only the last 10 months I thought - like other PC based magazines - that MacUser would provide oodles of content, reviews and new developments. This unfortunately is not the case. They struggle to fill a quarter of the magazine with editorial content, the rest dominated by half a dozen large Mac suppliers who obviously find it cheaper advertising their whole catalogue in the magazine than a small selection. This would not be so bad but for the fact that the rest of the magazine does not contain enough variety or of interest to the main industry sectors that the Mac operates - publishing, graphic art, music. Maybe it sruggles to be a fortnightly publication - then it should revert to a monthly one... Read review

...there was less chance of a crease forming from my nose to mouth when I smiled. Also in terms of my skin type (oily) the foundation worked well to minimise the oily look. However I always use powder after foundation to finish the look. Price ****** I have now purchased my second bottle of Mac foundation at £19 a bottle and can see this being a regular beauty purchase. As expected every skin type is different however I can say that having sensitive skin myself, the foundation has not irratated or caused me any skin problems. ...£10 more expensive than in other Pc retailers. OK they have a wide selection of games and software for PC, and at a price, but....(I'm going back to mac here)what is the point in selling apple macs when you have on average zzzilch amount of software to find? You'll find the odd book on 'the imac for dummies' (and you'd have to be a dummy because they are very easy to use) and things like that. That is it apart from things like scanners and printers which are meant originally for PCs anyway. The staff there knew a bit about PCs and didn't know a thing about macs and were obviously getting no sales for it. DUH I wonder why?!? They weren'y very polite or helpful and you'd be better off strugling on your own. Pc World makes a huge amount of money, but to reap in even more they need to slash prices and get some software for mac. I'd say go... Read review

Advantages: Very similar to Windows XP
Disadvantages: Very different from Mac OS 9

...purchasing this. When I installed this onto my Mac I had only one software compatibility problem and that was with a very old archiving program I had been using - other than that it was all ok. I have resolved my compatibility problem by not spending out money on a new archiving program but by creating 2 start-up discs on the one computer - there for on the Mac at the moment I have OS X and OS 9 installed but on different discs so as to not interfer with each other. This is very easy to set up but it does mean that if you are working in OS X and you then need to access your archive files you do then need to go to your startup disc, select OS 9 and restart your computer and then do the same to get back to OS X once you have done this. Also on OS X it is much more user friendly. It lets you organise your files like digital images, e-books etc... Read review

...you get with the computer is much more impressive than the Microsoft package. If you like to play games, there is a much more limited selection of Mac compatible games, although some do get ported across, like Halo, World of Warcraft etc. Overall though, this is probably not a great choice for a gaming platform. I first started using Macs about 2 years ago, and I have never regretted the switch from Windows, the operating system not only looks much better, but it works much better too, and there are plenty of neat features that you can play around with. I purchased this computer almost a year ago and have had absolutely no problems with it at all. I leave it running all the time, usually with at least five or six programs running at the same time, and it has no problems coping with the load. I should point out though that I have upgraded... ...I am a woman of colour and in the past have found it difficult to find foundation that not only matched my uneven skin-tone but also worked to minimise my oily skin. I found it in MAC SELECT SPF 15 FOUNDATION. MAC boast that this product is a water-based liquid foundation, non oily, giving medium coverage, plus an SPF 15, and it's an unbelievable YES to all 4. What they do not tell you is just how good the coverage REALLY is. ...of the basics and will give you a basic guide as what to expect. USABILITY At first I found the concept of the mac system very difficult to get to grips with but after a while I started to understand it, basically it is all the reverse of a PC, you open programmes and then select them by clicking the icon on the top menu bar and after this you can open a window in the selected programme. Now I am used to it I couldn't go back, it is so much more simple and easy to use than a PC, You might be worried about compatibility but there is no need to, Macs all have inbuilt software in OSX which de codes any microsoft programmes and you can also save work in MICROSOFT format, you can even buy Microsoft programmes to run on macintosh computers!!!
