...Michael Moore is a rare find, an American who actualls understands ironic humour and delights is shows hows stupid a large section of the US public is. Along with some politcal humour, which is funny even to those that don't really know or care too much about US politics, it fetaures some great examples of feaks, unbelievable stupidity and just general head cases ! Its a pity that Michael Moore is not given more exposure as his show is using shown during the week at night arounf eleven or midnight but I think it could work well on a friday night in a prime time slot . Definately recoomended for anyone who likes to take the mickey out of americans or who likes a slightly politcally themed humour show. Excellant.... Read review

Advantages: Criticises the racist, corrupt and corporate nature of the encompassing 'American Dream.' Refreshingly insightful
Disadvantages: Often spouts naive and undeveloped ideas and 'old' liberal views are often exhausted! Not fantastically written and the humour is often too offbeat and quite distracting.

...Like Moore himself, this book is extroverted in everyway. The pages drip with attack after scathing attack on America, be it the Government's failure to sign the Kyoto Agreement, Bush's 'appropriation' of the American presidentship or the failings of the Democrats. Side splittingly funny in parts, Moore undermines many of the fantastically good points he makes through using inappropriate comedy is other parts. For instance, it is highly refreshing to have an American author impartially tackle both of the oft taboo Northern Ireland and Israeli-Palestine situations, however, Moore's archaic liberal ideals and naive undeveloped solutions coupled with the inappropriate and unhelpful humour do not lend any credibility to Moore's discourse. Advantages: Factual, funny and easy to read
Disadvantages: Moore occasionally obscures his arguement with humour

...Michael Moore’s latest book is a satirical look at the relationship between corporate America and the ‘Stupid White Men’ who run United States politics and administer its justice. Focusing especially on the ‘son-of-a-Bush’ who now holds the countries most powerful position, he manages to balance the ridicule with hard-nosed facts that seem difficult to believe. He begins and ends the book by looking at the controversial 2000 election that placed ‘Junior’, as Moore likes to call him, in office. Whilst also managing to pack the book full of information on as diverse topics as racism, equal pay for women, literacy and the truth behind what happens to ‘recycled’ waste. All topics which do not exactly sound like a barrel of laughs but are made very easy to read through Moore’s dry humour and biting wit. You won’t be splitting your sides... Read review

Disadvantages: Shocking to the point of tears

...This documentary created by Michael Moor in 2002, also creator of Fahrenheit 9/11 addresses the problems of gun control within schools and the public in the United States of America. Michael Moor uses the example of the Columbine massacre to demonstrate the demand on gun control and the problems in which may occur if the problem isn’t addressed of the lack of control and easy access in which both adolescent kids are able to access. My first viewing of this particular documentary was in a AS level Media class at college (16-23yrs); the tutor felt that this was prime example of good documentary techniques – I agree. ...Michael Moore is apparently on the decline if you believe anything you see on FOX News but then, the Murdoch backed TV company are renowned Republicans and wouldn't want to encourage anyone reading or watching Moore's rants. If you live in a void and don't know who Michael Moore is, essentially, he is a "Big Fat Stupid White Man" well that's according to Clarke and Hardy and comes from their book of the same title. But more seriously he is a flag waving Democrat and George W Bush's nemesis in the battle between the right and left in the USA. His major breakthrough for most of the western world came with the book Stupid White Men and the release and subsequent Academy Award for Bowling for Columbine. However, us lucky Brits have had the pleasure, if you can call it that, of reading and watching Moore for several years now. The Awful... Read review
