Miele: Revolution (or evolution)
Review of Miele Revolution 500 by
jasonhunt
Advantages: Powerful, stylish, flexible, comprehensive tool set, Electrobush
Disadvantages: Expensive, heavy, Electrobrush
...When looking for a replacement vacuum cleaner to replace our ageing AEG cylinder model (still sucks, just, but one of its wheels sheered off, so I had to drag it around!), I was recommended to look at the Miele Revolution 500. A friend had done all the research for me: Which best buy, top ratings on various websites (not this one yet) etc etc. So I trawled around the net, and finally got a reasonable price by using www.scan.com. I subsequently bought it from John Lewis on their Never Knowingly Undersold scheme of price matching, for £200 (£40 off RRP).
Well, first the good points. It's certainly stylish; being a nice metallic silvery/green colour, quiet, and has a full complement of tools. It also has the apparently unique "Electrobrush" head, which is Miele's attempt to make a cylinder vacuum that can actually lightly brush and beat...

Miele Revolution 500 Is A Cool Dustbuster
Review of Miele Revolution 500 by
fallen121
Advantages: Stylish, powerful, quiet, full of features.
Disadvantages: Expensive, not sold everywhere.
...Today my husband and woke at 7am on a Saturday and drove 15 miles into Edinburgh to purchase a Miele Revolution 500. The reason? We already have a Miele and know and trust the name. Plus we don't mind paying for such good quality. And lastly, you can't buy these babies in Argos or Index or many of the High Street stores, there it seems to be Dyson or nothing!!
The Revolution 500 is less garish than many of its brightly coloured counterparts. It comes in a very stylish metallic light green or gray effect. It's also smaller than its predecessor in our household, the S228 Air Clean. Be prepared to pay for it though, I have heard of people getting it for as little as £200, but we paid £239, which is just £1 under the RRP. We bought it in Grays in George Street, a hardware store. They are one of only a handful of stores on the East Coast...

Sucks for £275
Review of Miele Revolution 500 by
yeahbutno
Advantages: powerful suction, variable power settings, easy to move around
Disadvantages: cost
...As a push and pull vacuum the Miele Revolution 5000 is the best I have ever handled with a level of suction that if the adverts are to be believed would have enough power to suck a dog into the bag. Having now used it I have to admit that it probably could if the sledge cleaner pipe was a little bit wider. As it stands, the telescopic pipe is so narrow it increases the suction to at least 3 times the power of a Dyson Animal.
All of that suction though comes with a pretty eye watering price. I paid £275 for my Revolution 5000 and in all honesty that to me was a lot of money but the benefits make this significant dent in my wallet well worth the while. Carpets are visibly cleaner, there is less dust in the air making my chest much better and I seem to sleep better at night since using the vacuum on my bed twice a week.
The reuseable...

Review of Miele Revolution 500 by

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
...I have owned several vacuum clearers in my time, including an electrolux and a dyson. None have lasted more than a few years at best. When my last vacuum cleaner died I decided it was time to look for something that would be more durable.
A friend recommended Miele as she had owned one for several years and was very impressed with its performance. Having decided to buy a miele I was then faced with numerous models to choose from. All Miele vacuum cleaners are cylinder I decided on a revolution 5000, mainly as I liked the look of the cleaner and was impressed with the large electrobrush supplied.
This vacuum cleaner is not cheap, Tribal UK are selling it for £264.89. I bought mine direct from Miele in Abingdon and can't remember exactly how much I paid for it. The cleaner comes with a 2-year guarantee.
The company...

Never mind the Dyson's, here's the Miele
Review of Miele REV 600 by
peterkinxl5
Advantages: Phemonenal cleaning ability, versatility, convenence, build quality,
Disadvantages: Noisy when engaging the turbo brush. Not so good instructions ,A big heavy unit..
...I've always had a soft spot for quality German products. after owning a Bosch Fridge freezer, AEG Washing Machine, Dish Washer and Tumble Dryer it seemed logical to acquire a premium quality Vacuum cleaner after my not-so-trusty Panasonic had give up the ghost. At first, I was going to purchase a Dyson DC07 upright, but heard several horror stories regarding reliability so gave it a miss. I then checked out AEG but couldn't purchase them anywhere and the Bosch range seemed average. So I checked out Miele.
Well, me being me, I acquired a Miele brochure, looked at several of their range and then plumped for the top dog Revolution 600, at a cool rrp £299.95 from Apollo 2000 in Wolverhampton. I had no Internet access back then and competitors such as Currys and Comet could only get via special order and Beatties in Wolverhampton who had...

good solid products
Review of Miele by
bishbash
Advantages: quiet, solid, quality product
Disadvantages: quite pricey
...i'm a bit of a bargain hunter when it comes to buying anything - the cheaper the better in my books - so when my husband suggested a miele washing machine and i saw the prices i was a bit put off.
he managed to convince me that the cheaper option isn't necessarily the better option if you end up buying two or three machines in the lifetime of one miele.
we've had the machine a couple of years now and i've been really impressed with it. it washes very well (even delicates), its really really quiet (our last machine sounded like it was going to take off) and it still looks brand new.
we now have a miele dishwasher which is also really quiet and cleans brilliantly (i don't even know its on), and a miele hoover which is just as impressive. Miele seem to think of everything in their designs - little things like easy access to clean parts...

Dyson a problem?..here's the Miele Solution
Review of Miele Solution HEPA 5000 by
cootuk
Advantages: Miele quality and longevity
Disadvantages: Price
...I originally bought into the Dyson story, though have never been greatly impressed by my DC05. The build quality appears lacking with the hose connectors being rather fragile imho, and cleaning power not being too great.
I already have a Miele washing machine and can vouch for the quality engineering in that. I therefore decided to replace my decrepid DC05 with a Miele. Miele have recently revamped their range with a higher power motor (up to 2200W). Being a man I'm all for extra horsepower! The new models are slowly starting to appear on the shop floor (mine was from John Lewis).
The Miele range seems quite confusing in terms of specs until you realise it is all based on a few things.
1) Power
2) Colour of unit
3) air filter (Hepa, S-class etc)
4) number of accessories included.
Some models allow you to upgrade the air filter up...

Miele realy are miles better
Review of Miele by
sadcrab
Advantages: excellent build quiet reliable
Disadvantages: initial outlay
...Our latest addition to the kitchen was a new Miele W360 washing machine. the last washing machine we had was a Zanussi Washer/dryer and after 6 years it was no longer economical to repair needing a new timer at a cost of £113.00 plus fitting the best part of a new machine! We looked arround at various machines but kept finding that the attention to detail on all the Miele machines could not be matched by any of the other manufacturers. In the end would got an excellent deal on the Miele with free delivery!
The first thing I noticed about the machine was the quality. For starters it was solid and no amount of moving it damaged the excellent finish you only had to look at the Zanussi and the enamel would come off! The machine is fully programeable and very quiet a bonus when I'm on a night shift! The machine also shows the time...

Miele 5280 with parquet brush
Review of Miele S 5280 by
daveaze
Advantages: easy to use,versatile,well made
Disadvantages: none as yet after 4 weeks
...Forget Dyson and others , this machine works in all areas and was actually designed by engineers for people to clean with. Dyson's noisy rocket machines are sometimes obviously straight from the drawing board to the manufacturing base and are clumsy, noisy, often awkward to use with the clunky wand and flatter to deceive.
This Miele is versatile, quiet and has easy maneuverability around the home. The drawback is dust bags but they last a long time and work well; being easy to change and dispose of.
It has settings from curtains to heavy soiled carpets and a choice of filters. Tools are well designed and the smaller ones actually are in a neat compartment in the cleaner.
We bought it specifically for our oak wooden floors and the special parquet head is excellent. Has a standard floor head and a turbo one for people who might like...

buying a washing machine is an investment
Review of Miele by
trojan9
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...ok, so there are loads and loads or brands of washing machine out htere to buy - but some are only availalbe in specialist stores, and their price is sometimes 2-3 times that of the cheaper products -so is it worthwhile buying an expensive washer like the german made miele washing machines?
In a word - Yes!
Washing machines, when you think about it, are the most hard working appliance we own - every week they churn out loads of clean washing - but the process is physically demanding on washers!
There are 3 reasons why I recommend miele - 1. it will outlast most rivals (so the cost of ownership in fact is not greater!), 2. It delivers an excellent result every time and 3. it is economically proven with low energy and water consumption too.
Oh, and don't forget - miele is much quieter too!
That makes for a less stressed household!...
