...When we bought our new house about a year ago, we discovered to our dismay that the shower that was fitted had an aversion to hot water. As it was a cheap generic brand that was fitted all across the estate when it was built, we found that we couldn't find a replacement thermostat to repair it. However, now many months later we have gotten around to purchasing a new one, and the model we have gone for is the Mira Gem 88. Mira are one of the best-known suppliers of showers both here in the UK and abroad, and so any problems could be easily fixed, as replacement parts are plentiful. The Gem 88 is a simple mixer shower, as we didn't want the extra expense of having electricity supplied to either a power shower of electric one. Disadvantages: It isn't an invigorating shower when the temperature is turned up.

...I’d just like to say a big personal thank you to all the volunteers around the country that have made single venue rallying not only possible, but very enjoyable. I recently took part in a single venue rally at MIRA as a co driver. Everyone from the MSA scruitineers to the time keepers and marshals were very friendly and helpful. It’s people like these that have made clubman rallying as popular as it is. We cant all afford to compete in national or international events but still get a “buzz” from racing around disused airfields, forestry commission land and of course MIRA. Clubs are screaming out for more people like these, who want to spend the day at a marshals post watching he fun for nothing. ...Following a few recent rather cruel and barbed jibes from Mrs Scampi about my waistline - "You fat git" and "When's the baby due?" being two examples, I decided to do something about it. Plea's that my waist measurement is the same as it was when we married twelve years ago fell on deaf ears. So I decided on a course of exercise which included a visit to the gym and some swimming. Doubting whether my normal shower gel (supermarket own label), would be up to the job for the post exercise shower and not wanting to become a social pariah, through smelling so bad that even rats would run the other way, I invested in a bottle of Physio Sport Shower gel, which describes itself as 'pure energy'. ...I first spotted Physio Sport shower gel a few weeks ago in Superdrug. As a frequent user of Physio Sport deodorant roll-ons, I thought this would be worth a try, so popped it in the basket. As the picture above shows, it comes in a trendy-looking, plastic container. The vibrant colours on the front immediately catch your attention. The one I bought, 'Vital Instinct', has hints of aqua marine, light green, red and yellow, which all lure you into buying it. I particularly like the twisty top, which lets you squeeze out the gel and close when you're finished. It not only looks good but also ensures there is no unnecessary discharge of gel, which you sometimes get with conventional 'flip' lids. The gel itself is clear and, as you would expect, quite runny in consistency. It smells refreshing and pleasantly fragrant - almost fruity... Read review

...Does anyone know why this range of products disappeared from the shelves? Is it true that some pathetic person objected to the advertising which featured a man and a woman in the shower? It's a great pity, because the 3-in-1 product shower/shampoo/conditioner was great for the sports bag. Dinghy sailing in salt water conditions is rough on the body and on the hair, and sunlight dries you out even more. Nicky Clarke Sport 3-in-One has just the right balance of conditioner, and wasn't so foamy that it wouldn't wash out easily. My hair always combed through perfectly. Also, the gel was not too perfumed and the light citrus fragrance wasn't too feminine for my husband to borrow it from time to time. I am still looking for a good alternative, the best so far being Physio Sport, which I found on the men's toiletries, but isn't it supposed... Read review

...Whilst most perfume houses have one or more fragrances that purport to be 'sport' versions, Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren undoubtedly is the best of the lot. Most other sport fragrances tend to smell too 'soapy' or are a cheap spin-off of another fragrance from the same range, but this is one fragrance that does exactly what is says on the bottle. This is a strong fragrance and can be a little overpowering but if used sparingly makes you feel clean and fresh. Always makes you feel like you've just stepped out of the shower. This is one fragrance that is instantly recognisable. I don't think it's a fragrance for all accasions. Not great as a formal fragrance, only for casual use. I think it is overpriced but doesn't come as a shock from Ralph Lauren.... Read review

Advantages: Smells nice Gets rid of chlorine smell

...Following a serious rugby inury, I have started swimming regularly instead. I find it extremely enjoyable and my fitness has increased dramatically having been to the pool every other day for the last few months. The main downside to my new hobby though is the smell of chlorine. However much I shower after getting out of the pool, using the provided coconut shower gel, I still stink of the chemical for hours after I have left the sports centre. Figuring that this wasn't an uncommon problem, I went into my local Boots store and asked one of the assistants if a product was on the market that was geared towards ridding me of chlorine based scent.
