They DO save you money
Review of B & Q (Shop) by
andycharger
Advantages: Cheap goods
Disadvantages: not that much quality
...B&Q are by far the cheapest DIY store around. I thought it is just a lot of posh talk on the adverts but it is true. The competitors do try and have special offers on certain items to woo you away, but B&Q are cheaper accross the board. Example being?
Last night I went to Homebase and B&Q to buy some paint and a new mitre saw blade.. The cheapest own brand paint that Homebase sold was 11.99 for White emulsion. B&Q Do a tin twice the size for 8.45. I bought the B&Q in the end and was dissapointed I must say. It had the consitency and thickness of water. The mitre Saw that I bought 12 months from B&Q cost me 6.99. The nearest Homebase equivalent was £12 yesterday!!! how can this be justified??? not all of the prices are this different but I noticed B&Q flooring was £2 a pack cheaper too!!!
Come along Competition, you have some catching...

Cutting corners effectively
Review of Titan PSM2541 by
laramax
Advantages: Cuts perfect mitres every time, excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Rather bulky and heavy to store
...I always used to hate cutting corners - probably because I am not very good at it. However at last I have found the perfect solution and at a great budget price as well.
A few weeks ago when I was browsing through the Screwfix catalogue (yes I know I lead a sad life!) I spotted an offer for the Titan PSM2541 10" Compound Mitre Saw on sale for just £29.99. I am not sure it would have caught my attention quite so much if I hadn't been planning to lay a laminate wood floor in my kitchen and dining room but as I had a job in mind it certainly looked like a great deal.
Personally if I am having a laminate floor I prefer to replace the skirtings at the same time as I think it gives a better finish. Also work I had previously had done to the heating system meant my existing skirtings were looking a little battered so relacements were...

BOSCH UNIVERSAL SAW
Review of Bosch Universal Saw by
veraboy
Advantages: VERY HANDY TOOL
Disadvantages: NONE
...The Bosch PMS 400-multi- purpose saw is clearly one of the most versatile power tools ever produced. With it’s fast SDS tool- changing system, the PMS 400 universal saw can be rapidly changed from a handy saw, to a sander, a wire brush, a file, a rasp or even a polisher in seconds. It is lightweight, and has a single handed operation for ease of use, yet powerful enough to be used for a multitude of job’s around the house. For example cutting tree branches, smoothing wood, removing rust and deburring metal, the Bosch multi-saw nevertheless remains a specialist-sawing tool. In this mode it is equally suitable for rough sawing and precise carpentry is possible, thanks to two foot plates which are standard, one for accurate 90 degree cutting and the other for 45 mitres, for example picture framing. Also standard is a wire brush attachment...

Homebase Mitre box and saw set
Review of Homebase Value Basic Mitre Box and Saw by
mumagain
Advantages: Good value, makes the job easier
Disadvantages: Comes with no clamps to hold wood in place
...Our DIY story
-------------
After painting our living room half and half we needed something to break up the two colours, but what? We didn't want yet another border in our house and a nice crisp line was a no go especially on an embossed wall paper.
Solution dado rail.
As per usual we went full steam ahead and made do with the tools we had to get the job done. Big mistake!
The first piece was quite easy using a wooden mitre box to cut the 45 degree angle and a saw but as to what type of saw it was, I have no idea, I think I will have to ask Handy Andy.
Piece of cake we thought that was until we had to cut a new angle right on the end of the dado rail for the next piece to slot in behind.
My husband did the sawing whilst I held it in place which proved difficult and after several pieces cut wrong and angles slightly out...

Mitre Mismatch:
Review of Mitre Ultimax Ball by
DigitalThing
Advantages: Is The best you can get
Disadvantages: Expensive
...When you consider a leather football can cost as little as £5 from some of the budget Sports retailers, it may astound some of you to realise that the Mitre Ultimax Pro ball retails at £45!!!
Yes, you heard right. That is a big step up from the prices we pay. Yet the requirements of football may of us require is simply to be round and pumped up.
However, when you are at a sufficient level of play, balls do make a difference.
I count myself as a competent footballer who has found the game to lat in life to make a difference. Perhaps if I had found the passion I now have in my formative years, I could have gone on and done something. Anyway, back to the ball...
The reason I mad the last few statements was to prove I know the difference between a cheapo ball and a good one. A good ball must have tight seams, multiple panels and most...

Decent enough ball
Review of Mitre Futebol de Salao Training Ball by
fna2007
Advantages: Great in all Conditions
Disadvantages: Price
...Mitre a great football used by many people to play the best football with.Mitre is extremly proper with people around the world to be the football they train with. This ball here is no exception he official training ball of the Confederation of Futebol de Salào.
The ball designed for many great things for the magic of the foot whilst playing the beautiful game. It helps you balance and keep good control on the ball and is also made to help develop close control footwork. So that means more skills and a much better game of football whilst playing with this ball.
The game tested out on all type of condition pitches has proven to be a ball which can last on al surfaces such as astroturfs even muddy enviroments so this ball to say the least is well worh its value.
Overall Mitre balls never disappoint for their value on their great...

Ideal match ball
Review of Mitre Max Ball by
beanie8844
Advantages: cheap, excellent durability
Disadvantages: none
...I currently play for a team called LM United in the Kingston and District League based in Surrey. It is a requirement of each team to have two high quality matchballs ready for use before each match. The balls that we use are of the 'Mitre Max' variety and I have no complaints about them. The Mitre Max is a FIFA approved football, infact one of the most popular FIFA approved footballs on the market. It is made from high quality PU leather and features a 26 panel design. We bought ours online for around £20 each so they are of mid-range price wise but offer top performance. You can purchase the mitre max in either a size 4 or 5 and can use them on both natural (grass) and artificial (astroturf) surfaces. I would definately recommend the mitre max to anybody who is thinking of buying a decent football for their team as it has excellent...

Shop around
Review of Focus Do It All (Shop) by
matty0501
Advantages: Some products are of better quality than rivals
Disadvantages: Alot more expensive than rivals
...' like their slogon says.
However, one advantage that Focus has over B&Q is that they offer both the over 60's and new home owners discount cards. Although B&Q offer the first of these, they fail to provide the latter. When we moved house, we had a Homemovers card. It has now expired, but Focus keep sending us a new card every now and then to gain 15% off. But even with the discount, B&Q can still come out cheaper than Focus.
One more advantage of Focus is that their products can sometimes be of better quality than B&Q. I recently bought a B&Q own brand mitre saw. It broke on its third use. So i went over to focus and picked up a mitre saw for about £3 more. This new one is made of metal (as apose to plastic), is much larger and has more accessories with it. It's well worth the extra money.
As I said before, don't let me put you off Focus...

Review of Mitre Ultimax Ball by

Maximum quality matchball
Review of Mitre Pro Max Ball by
spdavies
Advantages: Shape and pressure retention
Disadvantages: Price
...The mitre pro max football is a professional, high quality, high gloss matchball, developed with top professional clubs and engineered to mitre and international match ball standards. Maximum performance is achieved from balanced linings and an exclusive 'maxloc' bladder system, designed to maintain pressure for 3 times longer than a conventional bladder. The soft touch surface allows for maximum player control. The ball is manufactured as a 26 Panel design, maximised for shape retention and truer flight, available as a size 5 only in a standard white, mitre design.
Mitre provides a whole range of balls at with various levels of performance and according price. However, as a buyer of equipment for my club, I can highly recommend this ball above all of the other ones for a similar price. It provides a consistent level of performance...
