...I've put this in the 'Daft Stories' section as although it's a serious piece in it's own right, it's also a parody of comic book heroes. I originally wrote these short stories for another website, based on an ongoing character I had created. ...This is a story I wrote as part of my English coursework. The Purple Mongoose It wasn't my fault. After all, it was Emily who had driven me out of the house… Mummy's little girl, perfect in every aspect - and so smug and superior! It was Emily who had started that last argument, saying things she knew would cut me to the bone, trying and succeeding to hurt me. It was Emily who had followed me past the yellow warning signs onto the old bridge… How was I to know that she would actually dare follow me? I thought that perfect little Emily would give up as soon as I entered private property and stepped onto the dangerously frail bridge, due for demolition ten or more years ago, deliberately to get rid of her. ...mongoose some sort of goose you would assume, nope wrong, they are a well know make of extreme sports equipmen, unfortunately their equipment doesn't hold up to its extreme repetoir! Name***** mongoose quite creative could of been a succeful brand maybe of clothing but the name is mocked by skaters nowadays i dont advise buying one if you plan to skate with skaters you dont know. Durability***** well seeing as it is made out of 50 odd ply... then yeah it is safe to say it holds up well when skating but then anything made of 3000 kg reinforced ply would. Weight/Size***** well as i said compaired to most skateboards out there you mite as well skate a crate because its probably lighter than these. on the other hand they are the normal skateboard size even if the kicks appear to be lower than the deck... ...country lanes frequently have high hedgerows, telephone poles down the sides and combined with the driving on the left on black tarmac with a white line down the middle, it’s all rather familiar at first glance. The occasional palm tree brings you back to reality though, as does any close scrutiny of the rest of the foliage. Those squirrels or ferrets you think you’ve seen scurrying across the roads are mongoose, imported by the original plantation owners to stop snakes killing the slaves. Now there’s a caring employer for you! Protecting his investment more like. Joke Break: A plantation owner writes off to the East India Company to acquire what he calls a couple of mongeese. Advantages: So many features! Best Multiplayer ever. Great single player

...this gametype on a large map called "Sandtrap" to which we added some motorbike vehicles, known as the Mongoose (whats the plural, Mongeese?). The result was unadulterated hilarity. Each non infected player would scramble for the, cleverly limited in a musical chairs kind of way, Mongoose vehicles as a means to avoid the super fast "Vampires" as they ran after the vehicle "T1000 in Terminator 2" style. Each Mongoose can hold one passenger on back, who can turn around and fire weapons at the pursuing enemy. The amount of (as my girlfriend put it) "screaming like girls" we did when one of us fell off the Mongoose and the super fast enemy was getting close, was hilarious, and in retrospect, slightly embarrassing :) But this was some of the most fun I had on a multiplayer game ever, forget scores and statistics, we took Bungie's playground... ...form exists as Y, but in reality, Y is Not-Y. This means that while people kills themselves in the name of the Y, they are in fact doing so in vain because of the undeniable non-existence of Y. If we knew Y - then we would be able to end all arguments, as Y could be defined - like a mongoose. A mongoose can easily be defined - and people do not fight over mongooses (or is it mongeese - I don't know) which means that Y needs to be defined - we can make something up for all I care. Because as soon as we define the Y then people can stop fighting each other. However, if, as we have just said Y does not actually exist, then there is no need to define it as people are fighting about Not-Y. So we need to undefine Not-Y. So far my attempts at undefining Not-Y have included (to little effect) the inclusion of a new variable "X" Still... Read review

Advantages: Great gameplay, Lots of extras
Disadvantages: More of the Same, Multiplayer is still poor.

..., but still, you find your self low on Ammo but you've got a grenade or two. You chuck 'em in and deal with the aftermath, collect some new guns and repeat. Sounds simple, but it works. To add to this, you have new equipment, such as Flares (Flash grenades, essentially), Auto Turrets (A deployable Turret that attacks anything and everything - you included!) Bubble Shields, which create a bubble for you to hide in and deployable Force shields that protect you from one direction. Also, there is a buff tool, which heals you and a de buff tool, which disables enemy shields and drains them. Vehicles are back with a couple of new additions to the selection. Rather than covering the old vehicles, I'll just go through the new ones. There are plenty of Halo reviews out there for the old ones, as they're pretty much the same. The Mongoose... Read review
