...i saw monsters inc on vcd about a month before it came out in british cinemas.I'd heard the film had done well in the US and i wanted to see it before the media hyped it up, which ruins any film, no matter how good it is. Throughout the duration of the film, i was gripped by the amazing array of special effects that i would never have thought possibe in an animated film. The story line was a bit odd-a company of monsters is employed to scare children in order to generate energy which powers their monster world. Children in this world are thought to be toxic if they ever entered the monster world, and so the monsters must never touch them or leave the doors, which connect them to the human world, open. ...Monsters Inc is a Disney Film that if you haven't seen by now- I urge you to go and get it! Even if you don't have children, you can watch this and still tell other adults without seeming silly. Just in case you don't know or haven't heard about Monsters Inc here is a description of the film: Monsters Inc is a film about a world where no humans live, enter or know about. It is a world full of monsters who to get energy to fuel their world creep at night out of children's closets, scare them and catch their scream in a bottle, the scream then is transferred back at their world to produce energy cells. Advantages: Wonderful film for children of all ages and those adults who are still young at heart

...I have, over the years, tended to stay away from film animations having thought of them as exclusively for children. If Monsters Inc - the new Disney animated film - is any example then I have missed a lot and shall soon be off to Blockbuster to find the large number I now want to see. Monsters Inc. has been described by some critics as Disney's best ever. On that I cannot comment but, for me, it was two hours of excellent entertainment made even more enjoyable by the laughter of my older grandson and all the other kids in the audience. The premise of the film is simple. Monsters Inc. produces power by capturing the screams of children and, each night, the monsters leave through different doors to scare children all over the world. Advantages: great film

...Monsters Inc in my opinion is one of the best films that Disney and Pixar have made to date and they should not be dissappointed this animations is different to many other films and what more they have creat some of the all time favourite characters in disney history. My favourite has to be sully. Monters Inc is a film that is about monsters James P Sullivan better know as Sulley and Mike Wazowski. Mike and Sully work as scarers at the local factory to produce electricity, they go through childrens door at night whilst they are sleeping to scare children, which in turn produces power for the city. Until one day when Sully is at work scarying a little girl called Boo she escapes through the door and into the world of monsters, where Mike and Sully's lives are turned upside down trying to get boo back through her door without any... Advantages: It is without doubt one of the funniest films i have ever seen as well as having some of the most outstanding CGI ever
Disadvantages: is that addition of the sulley toy, door handle message and name plate worth the extra money

...Now i know that this film has been reviewed to death. To be honest im not surprised as it is an outstanding film for kids of all ages. I was blown away by sight of Sulley's fur moving as if it was real and not computer generated, but not only was the animation outstanding, the soryline and script were first class Ok the basic sory is that Sulley (a big blue bear with horns) and Mike ( a green tennis ball with one eye) work for Monsters Inc. The power company for the city of Monstropolis. The power is provided by the screams of human children. So each night Sulley and the other Scarers go out into the world and scare the be-jesus out of poor boys and girls to collect the screams. The only down side of the job is that children are toxic (as anyone who has changed a dirty nappy can vouch for) and if the monsters are touched... Read review

Advantages: Good plot, highly amusing and original
Disadvantages: Don't miss the pre film

...I have always enjoyed animation films so over the years Disney has collected a significant amount of money from me. I have as I have got older moved away from this genre due to the 'singalong world is wonderful' type of film produced in the last 10 years or so. However the introduction of 'Toy Story' has persuaded me to return. The newer animation appears to be spending more on the plot and story. Some non animation films could take a leaf from their book. I have since seen Shrek which I thoroughly enjoyed and Monsters Inc. is of a similar high standard. Initially you wonder how doe the plot of scaring children can be made amusing, but the imaginative plot and story line was made very realistic plausible and above all hilarious. Make sure that you do not miss pre film at the start and don't make the mistake of rushing to the car... Read review
