Review of Hasbro My Little Pony Butterfly Island by
textmad
Advantages: keep children occupied for ages
Disadvantages: only comes with one pony
...My daughter is a very big fan of my little pony, i bought her the my little pony butterfly island last year.
I bought it at woolworths for around 30 pounds.
I noticed in woolworths today though that it is down in price
it is now 19.99 which is a bargain.
Toys r us have also got it and if you buy it online it is only 14.99 at the moment , instore it is 19.99.
The box itself is very bright and colorful , on the box it shows you the island, it also got a pictures of 5 ponies on the island.
The island itself though only comes with one pony its an
exclusive pegasus baby.
The pony comes with snorkel adventure gear !
also 4 flippers, a grass skirt and a brush all for the pony.
Now i,ll explain whats on the island.
there is a rainbow for the pony to slide down , at the bottom of the rainbow is a palm tree.
There is a tasty drinks dispenser...

Ponies in Movieland
Review of My Little Pony - The Movie (Animated) by
Shroud
Advantages: the original MlP concept, wonderful performances by Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman,
Disadvantages: poorly executed DVD release, no extras, unsuitable for children over 9, appeals mainly to girls only
...In 1982, Hasbro introduced a line of brightly coloured toy ponies that came with symbols on their rumps that related to their names. The toy line was called My little Pony, and it became an instant hit with little girls the world over. In 1986, this was capitalised on by releasing a feature film, My Little Pony the Movie, which then spawned a TV series by the same name.
My Little Pony the Movie takes place in Dream Valley where the Little Ponies live in their Dream Castle. It is spring and the Ponies are celebrating with their friends. During a dance recital, Baby Lickety Split feels unwanted and decides to run away with Spike the baby Dragon. Cue several of the ponies going to look for baby Lickety Split and being quite worried.
They have good reason to be worried, but not for the reason they think. For an evil witch named Hydia...

Their Very Own Pony
Review of My Little Pony - Friendship Gardens (PC) by
Shroud
Advantages: child learns to care for their pony, practices mouse related skills, unlimited Pony creating potential
Disadvantages: once the Pony graduates, it is just gone
...My Little Pony is one of those iconic 80's toy franchises that has endured. Simply put for the uninitiated, the My Little Pony (or MLP) franchise was born from a small offering of cute little colourful ponies with brushable hair and a Cutie mark on its rump that related to its name, grew to include play sets spawned from the TV tie on locales, and on to movies, more toys, newer ponies, clothes, lunch boxes, and now, PC games. Friendship and kindness and caring are what the franchise is all about, and this game is no different.
This CD ROM is aimed firmly at the children the toys are aimed at (3-10), and not at nostalgic collectors of adult age, though doubtless some will want it to keep their MLP collection complete. In this game, the user enters their name (so more than one can use the disc) and can create a pony from various template...

A stable for "My little pony"
Review of Hasbro My Little Pony Show Stable by
mumsymary
Advantages: cute toy
Disadvantages: none really
...My little pony show stable.
IN 1982 Hasbro toy manufactures produced a new toy it was my little pony. Ahh my little pony was every little girls dream, oh to own a pretty pony one that had pretty hair that you could style. You could dream of winning those races with them. Take them to the beauty parlour. Put the baby pony in its nappy.
These ponies were really played with like a doll more than as an animal. My daughter aged about 5 when they first came out. It was not long before she entered the dream play world of my little pony. I was in the loft last week hunting out children's toys we stored from my daughters childhood playdays to give my grand children.
The first my little pony was made in …1982. The show stable produced in 1983 my daughter a sweet 5 year old loved pretty things. I can not remember if the My little pony...

Let's go on holiday
Review of Hasbro My Little Pony Butterfly Island by
danielalong
Advantages: Lots of imaginative play
Disadvantages: Lots of fiddly bits
...Butterfly Island
As well as a Barbie frenzy, we seem to be going through a My Little pony fest. This was one of the other toys Little Miss requested for Christmas, mainly I think so that her ponies (those with the gorgeous tangled locks) can fly round the room!
~~The Contents~~
As well as the main bits and pieces, and also inside the big box are: one small pony (I think smaller than the norm, but this is a Pegasus pony), a palm tree, spinning rack, drink stand, 2 signs, flippers, snorkel and mask, grass skirt, brush and bucket.
So, lots of bits and bobs to disappear up the hoover! However, look again- a good little bit of design here, because the front of the mountain does open, and the bits and pieces can be stored inside.
~~Assembly~~
So, once the obligatory huge box was unwrapped, mum had the job of putting together...

Tales for Boys and Girls
Review of My Little Pony - Bumper Special (Animated) by
Shroud
Advantages: classi charaters, positive messages on life
Disadvantages: dvd quality could be ebtter, no extras
...In 1992, Hasbro not only sold the My Little Pony toys, including Big Brother ponies aimed at boys, and Sea Ponies for the bath, but commissioned a series of cartoon shorts for the Disney Channel. These were called My Little Pony Tales, and ten of these are are present on this DVD.
The tales follow the characters of Ace, Bon Bon, Teddy, Bright Eyes, Clover, Lancer, Melody, Starlight, and Sweetheart as they learned about life, played games, and explored friendship as well as dealing with the odd crush on a pony of the opposite sex. Subjects are sensitively dealt with, and the addition of the male ponies catches the interest of boys as well as girls. It is worth noting that in this series, Ponyville has become like any other modern town in the 90's, with humans merely replaced with ponies. No magic, no bad guys.
The quality...

My Little Pony, What a Pretty Pony!
Review of Hasbro My Little Pony Crystal Princess Lily Lightly by
Shroud
Advantages: long lasting batteries, works with all standard sized MLP playsets, quality construction
Disadvantages: smalla ccessories may get lost by children, cost compared to other "ordinary" My Little Ponies
...My little girl has been My Little Pony mad now for three yeas, ever since I rented a My Little pony DVD one week from Amazon. You can imagine her delight when she discovered the toys, and the fervour for which she collects them Oh boy, does she collect them.. She collects the books, the DVDs, the vintage ponies and play sets, and the modern ones. Add to that her love of anything unicorn, and it's no huge surprise that when this was advertised on TV, she simply HAD to have it.
Bless her little heart, she did all sorts of extra chores to try to earn pocket money to buy this, so when she got up to so much, we chipped in the rest, for at £12.99 plus shipping from Toys R US, let's face it, as a child of not quite 6 she would have been toiling at piddly jobs til Doomsday and the pony would be long unavailable. So, you may ask, just what is so...

Lily Lightly Shining Brightly
Review of Hasbro My Little Pony Crystal Princess Lily Lightly by
piggypine
Advantages: Nice accesories, flashing lights
Disadvantages: Pricey
...Anyone who was around in the 80's is likely to know of the popular toy range of the time My Little Pony, 90's children are less likely to know of the range despite it's re-launch with redesigned ponies (awful skinny things that looked nothing like the originals) anyway 2002 saw a further re-release of the range more reminiscent of the 80's toys that so captured my heart as a girl, having grown up and had a little girl of my own I was delighted that I would be able to introduce her to a toy that I so loved as a child, just in it's more modern form.
Lily Lightly-
Lily Lightly is from a slightly more deluxe branch of the Hasbro toy line, the standard ponies come in small boxes with a hair brush and little else, some are scented, some set with jewels………..Lily is the cream of the crop, the Princess of the ponies. A unicorn pony, Lily has...

Peril In Ponyland
Review of My Little Pony - The Movie (Animated) by
piggypine
Advantages: 1980's Joy
Disadvantages: Not the very first pony characters. No extra Features.
...My Little Pony toys were released in 1982 one whole year after I arrived in the world, it would seem only natural then that I was a huge fan with a large collection of the toys. The animated movies and series came out a few years later and, while originally released on those things some of us remember as VHS tapes, they are now re-released on DVD. I now have a little girl of my own and am somewhat influencing her future tastes by stocking up on the pony toys, both vintage and modern, as well as the DVDs. I bought her this movie for her birthday so we can both enjoy it together.
My Little Pony The Movie-
"Escape on a magical journey to Dream Valley and Ponyland a place of wonder and joy"
It is spring time and the little ponies are planning their spring festival. Baby Lickety Split shows off during her dance recital and spoils...

Custom My Little Ponies- a unique collectable
Review of Member Advice on Hand Made Crafts by
piggypine
Advantages: Will show you how to create your own unique collectable/gift
Disadvantages: Not the hobby for everyone, takes time and concentration
...wouldnt want a one of a kind pony designed just for them(other than your tomboy types of course)
Pony customising is a long and often complicated process so I warn you now this is a long review. As with my other lengthy reviews in the past i'd say read what bits you want, escape while you can or read the whole thing, you'll find all the instructions needed for creating your very own custom.
MY LITTLE PONY
My little pony was a range of toys bought out in 1982, originally 6 horses were released and gradually more and more were added. They began as simple foward facing horses with pretty colours and unique symbols on their rumps, as time passed tehy became more and more elaborate, there were ponies with flapping wings, growing hair even fibre optic crowns. The popularity waned and the Generation 1(1980- early 90's) ponies ceased being made...
