The new Fiat Bravo 1.6 Eco
Review of Fiat Bravo 1.6 by
msterry
Advantages: Excellent styling, fuel economy and emissions.
Disadvantages: Narrow rear end means a small back window and reduced boot space.
...I have recently purchased the new Fiat Bravo 1.6 Eco diesel.
The eco referrs to the fuel effiency and emmissions that some new Fiats have. Firstly the fuel effiency is quoted by Fiat as 65 mpg on the combined urban/extraurban cycle. Although the Eco is good, I have only managed low 50's, however that is still extremely efficient. A tank of diesel so far has averaged at about 550 miles, pretty good. The real bonus of the Eco however is the low emissions. With C02 emissions of 119ppm the Eco is in only the second category which means none of the recently introduced forecourt tax and at current rates only Ł35 a year after that.
The styling of the new Bravo is excellent, it looks good and you feel good driving it. The interior is well made and looks much better than the older style Bravo, in fact almost every aspect of the new model...

Fiat Bravo 1.2 16v
Review of Fiat Bravo 1.2 by
craig911gt2
Advantages: cheap to run, stylish
Disadvantages: underpowered
...I have owned my Fiat Bravo for just over 2 years now and bought it second hand on a Y plate. Unfortunately Fiat seem to have a bad reputation- I think due to their older cars, you should ignor this as the newer cars are excellent. I have done 50000 miles since I had the car (in 2 years), and the only parts I have replaced are the exhaust ( standard wear and tear), and a little electronic box called the coil pack (the old car equivalent to the points in the distributor ) as the new cars have electronic ignition. Even when these parts went the car never actually broke down- it has never been off the road due to a problem. Considering Fiat's reputation I think this is quite good. It is a nice car to drive and the handleing is very good (for a standard car), I am comparing this against a Toyota MR2, my last car and my dream car!
POWER...

Bravo indeed
Review of Fiat Bravo 1.4 by
ae359
Advantages: Easy to drive, economical
Disadvantages: Interior could be better finished, that rear seat.
...My first new car for 15 years, and quite a contract to my old Citroen Xantia - an expensive mistake which cost a fortune to maintain, while its value dropped like a stone. The family having grown up we don't need a big car any more. I originally wanted a Punto , we hired one in Italy last year and was delighted with it, but my better half preferred the extra space and comfort of the Bravo.
It is very light and responsive to drive, the 1240 16v engine delivers the power when needed, but is also very economical, returning an overall 48 mpg in the 3 months I have had the car.
Comfort is pretty good, even in contrast to the Citroen, although you are more aware of the road surface. Equipment level is a sensible comprimise, not too many expensive and rarely-used gimmicks that add to the list price, and burn holes in your pocket when...

Bravo Two Zero
Review of Bravo Two Zero - Andy McNab by
Mapoco
Advantages: Excellent Read
Disadvantages: Boring Beginning
...Bravo Two Zero
---------------------
Bravo Two Zero was one of the best books I've read in a long while. The story follows Bravo Two Zero leader, Sergeant Andy McNab and his band of brothers.
The Plot
-----------
In January 1991, eight members of the SAS regiment embarked upon top secret mission that was to infiltrate them deep behind enemy lines. Under the command of Sergeant Andy McNab, they were to sever the underground communication link between Baghdad and Northwest, and to seek and destroy mobile scud launchers.

In defence of the Bravo, which deserves its name.
Review of Fiat Bravo 1.4 by
SunnyBabe
Advantages: Excellent speed and acceleration, looks great, feels great.
Disadvantages: Engine faults are fairly common.
...I've seen a lot of people give bad reviews for this car and I thought that I had to jump in and rescue the Bravos reputation, if I possibly could.
First off lets have a look at the main sellers for this car:
It has Power Steering-I don't need to explain why this is a good thing.
It look great with its streamlined bonnet, coloured bumpers, low grille and narrow headlamps, giving it a sporty and aggressive look.
For such a small litre, the engine is huge!
Electric front windows.
An engine that has more sensors that you can shake a stick at.
Airbags.
Central locking.
All in all, this car looks great on paper and to drive it's even better.
I first got this car the very day that I had my accident in my previous car, a 15yr old Nissan Sunny 1.4, (which I've also reviewd so if you're interested, go look that up) my mum picked me...

RIO BRAVO - pure western joy
Review of Rio Bravo DVD by
Monogram
Advantages: Great western and very entertaining still
Disadvantages: None
...Hello, everyone! Particularly western movie lovers and devotees of the great Howard Hawks!
RIO BRAVO, made in 1958 and first released in early 1959, has proved itself to stand the so-called "test of time". Indeed, 40 years later, this movie is still very watchable and gives the viewer a lot of pleasure.
And what a cast! John Wayne! Dean Martin! Ricky Nelson! Angie Dickinson! Walter Brennan! Ward Bond! All ably supported by John Russell, Pedro Gonzales Gonzales and (particularly) Claude Akins.
John Wayne - THE Duke - plays Sheriff John T Chance, who acts like a rock of total stability throughout the movie. John Wayne really always plays himself, but there is no harm at all in that, is there?
Dean Martin acquits himself particularly well in RIO BRAVO. He plays "Dude", the Sherrif's former deputy, who 2 years before...

Bravo Two Zero
Review of Andy McNab's Bravo Two Zero DVD by
paddeh
Advantages: Excellent war movie, good acting + special features on DVD
Disadvantages: DD 5.1 audio would have been nice
...What's the movie about?
Bravo Two Zero was produced by the BBC and shown on British TV in 1998. It is a true story set in the early days of the Gulf War (Iraq 1991) and retells the story of an 8 man SAS squad behind enemy lines; their mission was to destroy Iraqi scud missiles launchers and also to cut communication lines. Very quickly their position becomes compromised and they are set back further by equipment failure and bad weather. Deciding to abort their mission they have to fight numerous running battles with a much larger Iraqi army before they can reach the border to safety. Eventually some of the squad are captured and have to endure interrogation and torture from Iraq's secret police. Bravo Two Zero is an excellent story of an elite squadron trying to escape from behind enemy lines with things getting worse as each minute...

Bravo Two Zero SAS At It's Best!
Review of Bravo Two Zero - Andy McNab by
universal_soldier
Advantages: Good Read Real Eye Opener To The Real World
Disadvantages: Very Disturbing And Cold Hearted
...to Baghdad, they were tortured with savagery for which not even their intensive SAS training had prepared them.
Bravo Two Zero is a breath taking account of SAS Soldiering, a chronicle of endurance, super human courage and very dark humour, in the face of odd that towered above them.
Believed to be the most highly recognised patrol ever Bravo Two Zero is already apart of SAS legend.
This book is for anyone who wants to see the harsh reality that the British army deal with, it is very disturbing to learn that a single Iraqi can be so heartless that he could make someone eat their own fecies, sleep in a toilet, beat them to within an inch of their lives and laugh about it!
A truly superb book that hits home hard! Lots of pictures of equipment they used and maps of where they were!
Down side to this is the use of short hand initials...

Fiat Bravo 1.8 HLX
Review of Fiat Bravo 1.8 by
biffo0911
Advantages: Cheap, lively engine and handling, good brakes.
Disadvantages: Space is not as good as others in class.
...I have owned this 1999 Fiat Bravo 1.8 HLX for about 1 year. I bought it for Ł1000 with 60K miles on the clock and a full service history. I have covered 15K miles.
The car is very well equipped with electric windows, mirrors & sunroof, heated seats and a decent stereo. The interior is functional if not very exciting, and reasonably spacious although the headroom in the back isn't too great - due to the sloping roof.
The 113bhp engine performs well, accelerating briskly and making overtaking comfortable.
The car handles well in all conditions although it does understeer, especially in the wet, when pushed hard.
The brakes are very good and the ABS has helped a couple of times in the wet when i thought the wheels would lock under very hard braking but the car just stopped without any drama.
Despite what a lot of people say about Fiat...

Bravo 2 Zero
Review of Bravo Two Zero - Andy McNab by
richardjmeek
Advantages: Good Read
Disadvantages: None
...Bravo 2 Zero is the story of a gone wrong mission behind enemy lines in the gulf war in kuwait and iran. Andy McNabb is leading a small troop of SAS soldiers on a top secret counter measures misson.
An interesting account of how the mission started then how it all turned to disaster because they didnt kill a simple goat man, This then lead to being chased by numerous iraqi units accross the desert with the aim of making it to the safe border of syria they were captured. The story then went into graphic detail of how they were interrogated by Iraqi soldiers. Men were beaten like animals but they didnt speak they were traied to be hard supprisingly hard. Has a partial happy ending as about 1/2 men make it out alive the rest dont.
A good Read...
